Alessandro17
http://today.reuters.com/news/articleinves...6&type=qcna OTTAWA, Feb 20 (Reuters) - Just because you're the daughter of Bill Gates does not mean you get to play on your computer all day long. The Microsoft founder said his 10-year-old daughter, his oldest child, was not a hard-core Internet and computer user until this year, when she started at a school where the students use tablet computers for almost everything. "She became very avid and discovered a lot of computer games, including one that runs on the Xbox 360 called Viva Pinata, where you take care of your garden," he told a business audience in Ottawa. "She could spend two or three hours a day on this Viva Pinata, because it's kind of engaging and fun." Gates said he and his wife Melinda decided to set a limit of 45 minutes a day of total screen time for games and an hour a day on weekends, plus what time she needs for homework. hecker
Kids may think it is wrong for parents to restrict screen time, obviously. But entertainment units will cut into a young persons social life and that is a big no-no when you are maturing. There's plenty of time to spend with yourself when you're and adult. hecker Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/43177-bill-gates-keeps-close-eye-on-kids-computer-time/#findComment-308824 Share on other sites
Zealot
So let me get this straight he is the world biggest nerd and he doesnt even let his daughter to play with his own game platform products of his company . So you make bussines with game makers, you throw vista Dx10 and Xbox360 and he thinks that his own daughter should play 45 minutes . it makes you think at least. track09
He's being a responsible parent, only fanboy's can shoot him down for that. NOT USING HIS TECHNOLOGIES, no, he chose to be a responsible father there, apparently to you that is wrong. If S.J did it, you'd be all over him. Alessandro17
I just reported what I considered as funny news. I was going to put it in the "Laughs" section of the forum, but then I decided it was more appropriate here. kevin_4e
I know I've heard claims like this before. I honestly don't know if I believe it. I just don't see a strict set of rules that he would constantly be willing to control.
