Take 2:

So apparently the wireless switch wasn't working.

Once I got the wireless switch working, restarted into single user mode.

It said I got kp on turning the wireless switch on, but i didn't 833

Did get kp shortly thereafter. 834

Pictures attached.

rebooted with wireless switch on

and went through networkSelector on and off without kp

tried to get logs

then went to networkSelector and got kp 835

on safe mode restart no logs were saved.

includes working WEP

post number 3421

Awesome, thx a bunch for that link 1000volts. For some reason, that iwi2200 driver seems to be similar to the SVN latest on my machine. Frequent slowdowns and no connects. I didn't get a chance to try WEP, but I went back to the latest 475 stable version and for some reason it works a little better (still same problem overall though). Think that latest one might give better results with WEP? Anyone had any luck with tricks or solutions for this?

If anyone restarts development on that driver, let us know and I can try to post some logs. Thx so much to all for the awesome work on these, I am impressed that they even work at all!

iwi2100/3945/4965

i've updated the svn tree

you can test latest version from there

http://code.google.com/p/iwidarwin/

iwi2200

the code for wep doesn't work - i'll fix it later with mac80211 code

the slowdown seems to be a kernel problem - delayed acks -

does anyone knows if there's a kernel source that fixes this?

maybe semthex or someone else already done this

alex it, so what exactly can u do with the new drivers? can u connect yet? or can u just see them? or does it just detect the hardware?

cheers

Nothing!

Card detected as Internal Ethernet, mac address correct, no ip , no connection , no no no :-( ... but soon it will go:D !

right, well at least the computer understands it's there! hopefully soon it will go... i guess all of these drivers are being created for tiger, will it be easy to make them work for leopard?

Don't think to Leo , now. Let Jalavoui work with no more stress than needed to make a working driver ...

It's really (very) difficult to make it work under Tiger.

At last, when it works well (I said WELL) under Tiger one can think about "upgrading" it to Leo.

Meanwhile, it's possible that Leo changes somthing (more) in IONetworking classes ...

It would be a nonsense to mantain 2 concurrent lines of driver-sources.

IMHO. Don't rush into LEO so fast, I think Tiger 10.4.11 is more stable and faster, by now, specially

for those notebooks which cannot activate CI/QE for graphics.

I put it on, tried for 2 weeks and then turn back to Tiger (now 10.4.11).

@ALL : Please !!! don't keep on asking for a LEO-driver till there is a working TIGER-driver !!! Just wait.

Working on Leo is not a problem, lot of kexts designed for tiger works on Leo.

I know that IONetworking is changed ... many network kexts have problems with leo.

I think it will require minor changes.

Maybe so ... but I think that changes are to be done only after everything (or almost) is working.

btw, no need to keep on this (OFF TOPIC) thing here :thumbsdown_anim:

... let's wait for new releases to test , quiet :thumbsdown_anim: .

For me don't work

Before install by last svn .dmg. (iwi3945)

In boot with -s option, give this message executing ./networdSelector:

Could not get ID for kernel control. 2

Try load iwi3945kext -> kenel panic
