Unfortunately I don't know what you mean sayin "backlit still fails", maybe you can post screenshot?

BTW: have you edited ATIinkect to match your display EDID?

For me sometimes it happens that loginwindow hangs or display shows some rubbish, so I have to do restart (hard reset, Enter+PowerButton doesn't work).

Hi

It means that there is no backlight for my laptop, I need a strong light to see my desktop.

I have replaced the EDID.

Thanks

As I've noticed we are numerous persons to have the x1700 mobility (0x71d5 ID) QE/CI problem. Should we create a new Topic for this ?? are u OK ?

Yes i thought that to but i belive there is no developer to help us ... After trying almost every solution sugested for my x1700 i end up only getting the good resolution an my internal display but never Qe/Ci. So ... lets start a Topic for x1700 !

Piro_kun - you have the Qe and Ci enabled after using the driver ? Without is just the generic mac os driver so nothing about acceleration or res change but i do not know why is faster than the patched driver. If you have Qe and Ci than is possible that something else can fix the isue you have. Look for ... netkas AppleSMBIOS.kext or AppleACPIPlatform.kext from 10.4.8 ...

I installed leopard over tiger and put netkas applesmbios (i dunno where i took the original one) and works perfectly. Thankees

Okay, I managed to get EDID info from windows.. (had to install it on different HDD)..

My second laptop is Acer Aspire 5110 (5112WLMi) with X1600 graphics.

If someone could paste this in a right place, would be awesome.

I tried few times myself, but it won't boot. Crashed everytime it loaded LoginWindow.. :)

I'm not sure if I need to change vendor id's or anything else...?

SUCCESS!!!!! Many months of trying, kexts, injectors, EDIDs, bios settings...

FireGL5200 256 MB 71c4 ThinkPad T60p 1400x1050

This gives me hardware mouse, Switching into OpenGL doesn't "shatter" it all over the screen...

I can change the display brightness and calibrate it. It shows my two displays.

better performance xbench

Two issues:

1. I get a bios security error upon coming out of sleep? Is this a kernel, bios, or driver issue? (TPM is disabled on my device), or type of sleep setting.

2. Some displayed resolutions, like 680x680 create a black screen necessitating a clearing of all reslution files /preferences/byhost

I have the same notebook with U! can U send me your driver to me?

May I was 2 stupid I have tried twice and all failed...

i got my x1700 on my F3JP to work with these kexts: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...rt=#entry510147

but now i got a problem. 50% of the time, after i boot, i got full resolution and QE/CI with my internal display. perfect.

but the other 50% of the time, after the white apple bootscreen, i get weid pink boxes, freaky colors and stuff.

Can anyone help?

Cheers so far.

ps.: i would also like to use my external monitor and my tv (not at the same time of course but at different times) together with my internal display. any change thatll work? and if so how?

That doesn't look like a phoenix output to me at all... Usually it should be like following

Okay now I have made my FireGL V5200 work perfectly under Leopard.

This is how I do:

1. Edit the ATIRadonX1000.kext 's info.plist, add the model number x71C41002 into the PCIMatch list

2. Edit the EDID info in the ATIinject.kext download form this thread, then put it in the exenstion folder.

this is my Thinkpad T60p's EDID (1400x1050):

00FFFFFF FFFFFF00 30AE2240 00000000 000F0103 801D1578 EA2D0597 57518A27 23505421 08008180 01010101 01010101 01010101 0101302A 7820511A 10403070 13001ED6 10000019 25237820 511A1040 30701300 1ED61000 00190000 000F0090 43329043 280F0100 4CA35034 000000FE 004C544E 31343150 342D4C30 320A0019

3. change the permission and owner.

4. reboot, all now perfect.

Hello total newbie here! I have been reading this forum for a few days now and managed to install MacOS 10.5.0 on my Acer 5672 with dual boot. So far so good but installing the correct driver for my X1600 video card proves to be difficult. I have the EDID:

00FFFFFF FFFFFF00 44934100 00000000

000F0103 80211578 0A4DC093 5C518827

21505400 00000101 01010101 01010101

01010101 0101EA1A 00805020 10301520

44004BCF 10000018 0000000F 0008002A

00010004 00324A04 19010000 00FE0051

55414E54 41444953 504C4159 000000FE

00514431 35544C30 37320A20 20200089

But I can't find the Apple PList editor anywhere and don't really know what I need to do when I do find that precious editor...

Searching the forum gives me such a lot of hits reading all of them takes a LONG time! So I hope someone can give me some spot on advice!

Thanks!

it can make my acer5595 work at 1280*800 with QC/EI enabled. But due to my video card x1600mobility is 64bit not the standard 128bit, my LCD flickered irregularly. Could someone help me modify the ATIinject to suit for the 64bit version of x1600 mobility? thank you very much

Augh I'm getting so frustrated but I think I'm really close. I used the files from this thread:http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=77685

With the files on my Leopard Desktop, I edited the atiinject.kext plist using plist editor and added my EDID to the LVDS for the CMO1523 Hardware ID which is:

 <00FF FFFF FFFF FF00 0DAF 2315 0000 0000 0000 0103 8021 1478 0A77 F1A0 5A4B 9624 184F 5400 0000 0101 0101 0101 0101 0101 0101 0101 0101 7C2E 90A0 601A 1E40 3020 3600 4BCF 1000 0018 0000 00FE 004E 3135 345A 312D 4C30 320A 2020 0000 00FE 0043 4D4F 0A20 2020 2020 2020 2020 0000 00FE 004E 3135 345A 312D 4C30 320A 2020 00F8>

Not touching anything else I save the file, move the atiinject.kext and atindrv.kext to /system/library/extensions.

From there I go to Terminal:

sudo -s

chmod -R 755 ATIinject.kext ATINDRV.kext

chown -R root:wheel ATIinject.kext ATINDRV.kext

rm -R /System/Library/Extensions.mkext

Repair Permissions

The system boots through Darwin loader, gets to the mac screen, then everything goes bright pink and white and makes the screen unviewable, or sometimes just goes right to a blank screen and nothing happens. I've tried rebooting a couple times and changing the IOPCI ID to 0x71c51002 just in case but still all I get is garbage or nothing.

I've followed exactly what others have done, using my own info. I'm running an ASUS Z96J ATI Mobility x1600, and I'm oh so close!! Anyone that can provide any help at all, I'm begging :)

hi,

trust me i know your frustration been there, but stay patient you will get there eventually.

try using my post: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...=0&p=571627

i have ATI X1600 mobility in LG and i got it to work, this thread have all the attachments needed and very detailed explanations.

please note that even after i succeeded sometimes it boots into a black screen or black and white stripes and then black screens, the only thing i can do for that is reboot and again until it boots correctly, that said there is a voodoo remedy: when booting press one or more key (any key will do) on the keyboard during gray apple screen.

if it doesn't help use verbose and/or fix permission load mode (at startup press F8 in the prompt write: -v -f and press enter) this will load somewhat slower causing the ATI driver to be ready and the inject to work properly.

hope you will get there, tell me if i can help more.

Enjoy your Mac.
