Success on Sequoia!  (I'll try Tahoe later).

i have a FullMac adapter (BCM43602) and  it works with this configuration.  Nice!

There were no real problems, just took my time to make sure my config was setup correctly, one reboot later, WIFI...

The only issue is that I have a 10G Ethernet interface and so the wireless interface will probably not get much use......but it's still nice to have.

And, I also have this drive encrypted and did the WiFi install after I encrypted it.   For FileVault, I do have to load apfs_aligned every time I boot, but that doesn't bother me and login is simple and smooth.  The encryption did not interfere at all with this WiFi config.

Thanks!

@schrup21, After applying MyKextinstaller, my computer starts booting, then immediately reboots and freezes. I've tried several times, but the same thing happens. I can't even boot into Tahoe. As I said in the previous post, it seems that BCMC and MyKextinstaller cannot be applied together.

[edit]

I am on Tahoe 26.1

What ID?

@Austere.J great project, congrats & respect!

Can you please share the steps how you managed to extract the Firmwares? I'd like to extract the FW from the original Apple BCM94360CS2 which I've been running 100% happily in my hackBook until Sequoia (VID: 14E4 | DID: 43A0 | SVID: 106B | SDID: 0117) and see if I can get it to work with your AppleBCMWLANCompanion kext.

Congratulations!!!

How about AirDrop is that working?

I really don't use AirDrop, (and sorry, but I don't intent to start any time soon) and as I said in my post, I use my 10G ethernet and rarely use WiFi.  I know you want AirDrop to work, but the author has said it's not working just yet. I think he'll post an update once he can get it working, but not just yet

@BuXb I believe your answer is here: https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/361710-broadcom-fullmac-wi-fi-support-on-macos-sonoma-sequoia-and-tahoe-without-root-patches/#findComment-2841070

I am also now fully set for this project and have either DEXT DriverKit or Intellucy working with VT-D and IOMMU and DisableIOMapper=false.

The sweet bitter irony was that just the com.apple.iokit.IOSkywalkFamily manoeuvre for the OCLP-WIFI patch was the culprit for all related X550-AT2 problems.

If I disable

and disable

everything works as expected. No other changes have been necessary in my EFI-Folder to make DEXT DriverKit and IntelLucy work with DisableIOMapper=false.

Thus, it seems that this project just popped up at the right moment.

I already received a BCM943602CS and a BCM943602CDP and I am just waiting for the respective PCIe adapters.

Happy to join this exciting project soon...

Why are you posting about Intel Lucy in the Broadcom thread?

I was just posting that I am exited and fully set to join this project now with fully working VT-D, as the latter is deemed necessary for this WIFI patch. Opposite to my previous posts here and all my former doubts with respect to this new WIFI patch. Furthermore I demonstrated that the old OCLP Broadcom WIFI root patch destroys VT-D/IOMMU Ethernet functionality anyway on my system, not only for IntelLucy but also for the DEXT Driver Kit and that therefore it seems necessary to get this new WFI patch working in any case. Everything about Broadcom and important context information and therefore I won't remove this post anyway. That´s all. Sorry if that bothered you somehow..

No, most of your post here was about your issues with Intel Lucy and I think you should have posted that there in the Intel Lucy thread.  You had about two sentences about this thread (Broadcom) and that would have been appropriate here, but not the Intel Lucy stuff

I don't know what's causing your problem, but your conclusion is wrong - BCMC together with AppleHDA via MyKextInstaller:

BCMC together with OCLP-Mod Audio Patch:

Audio and WiFi are working fine with both 😉

You cannot extract the firmware from the module as it doesn't contain a firmware - WiFi Modules are getting it's firmware from the driver at boot.

BCMC uses the brcmfmac firmware (btw. the same firmware can be found in ubuntu /lib/firmware/brcm).

BCM94360xx modules probably won't work with BCMC because there's no fullmac firmware available

I said the ID right in my post, BCM43602, did you read it?

The equipment ID looks something like this: 14E4:43A0

Thanks schrup, now I am away from home. I am not sure now but your KDK version seems to be different from mine. I don't know if it matters. Anyway let me test it again if I get home later. Many thanks.

@sanigo What do you mean with "usbmapper" - USB Toolbox? I don't see how the mapping could affect this (and not without AppleVTD).

Dropping DMAR could eventually create such an issue - @Mieze  explained in the IntelMausiEthernet topic that the manufacture (of the mobo) had a reason to add reserved memory regions to DMAR.

@cloudy I guess that MyKextInstaller doesn't show the latest installed version. It is atm still showing 25A5338b while OCLP-Mod Installed 25B5042k (I switched to OCLP-Mod because for AppleHDA it doesn't make any difference if you use OCLP-Mod or MyKextInstaller - both are patching your root fs)

Switched back to MyKextInstaller. This time I deleted all KDKs and installed the latest (updated to 26.1 Beta 2) - now it's showing the correct version 26.1_25B5057f

I have an FV-AC1200, which is detected in Windows 11 as an Apple PCI-Ex4 BCM4360 802.11ac Wireless Network Adapter and is named pci14e4.43a0 in macOS Ventura. I got it working again in Sonoma using OCLP 3.0.0, but no amount of tricks worked in Tahoe. Because it's a softMAC card.

@eng_redaesm Fenvi T919 originally uses BCM4360, a BCM94360CD module to be more precise - no BCM943602CS. But indeed 43BA would be a BCM43602 chip. I believe the BCM943602CD module on the Fenvi could get replaced with a BCM943602CS, or maybe they produced a batch with BCM943602CS...

Anyway - you should first search for AppleVTD in IORegistryExplorer. If you can't find AppleVTD, it's not activated and BCMC won't work.

At second, you should check if the KEXT is loaded: kextstat | grep bcmc

At third, you should check with DebugEnhancer.kext enabled : sudo dmesg | grep bcmc

Maybe this is interesting for you all: after installing 26.1 Beta2 my BCMC Wifi didn't work. I couldn't find anything, even tried the "clean" configuration but it turned out, that WiFi didn't work in Ventura either - the card somehow got blocked, which I only was able to resolve by completely powering off my Laptop (with removed Battery).

@schrup21 @jlrycm understood re. Firmware, thanks for the infos! I guess each card requires its specific/ dedicated FW and it's not worth trying other cards' FW instead (not even knowing which one would be closest).

(a bit off-topic/ just out of curiosity: so I understand Linux does not provide a FW for the BCM94360CS2. I admit I never ran Linux after installing the BCM94360CS2, but I guess consequently it wouldn't work in Linux, either?)

Today I finally received the PCIe adapter for the BCM943602CDP. The rest was just plug & play by following the instructions of the author. 5 Minutes of work in total and overall success with WIFI under both Sequoia and Tahoe!!! Congrats and many, many thanks to @Austere.J 👍💯💫💥

The WIFI patch (and AppleVTD) is also 100% compatible with Apple's native DEXT DriverKit for the X550-AT2 NICs of my ASUS X299 Sage 10G

image.png.0333841fcfc3072a0aa153c7a32b69e0.png

and fully compatible with the OCLP-Mod AppleHDA root patch

Finally everything set and fully working under Tahoe! I am done 👍
