Do you get tahoe desktop? for my case i always have black screen with mouse cursor after verbose (i only have an old nvidia graphic card) so i don't know how to resolve my issue, i'm waiting Tahoe final release and OCLP update for Tahoe

In my case, GT720 works fine on 15.6.1, but the same issue as you on 26, so I have to buy a second hand RX460 and it works fine now.

Yes I can reach the desktop, but no ETH/BT/IGPU, only USB and MB/KB.

This just popped-up on my hack running Tahoe RC1:

I accepted the new Ts & Cs and my iCloud / iMessaging continues to work without issues.

So far, Tahoe is rock-solid and it's not even the first release.  While I'd like to give credit to Apple, that may be because not much new has been introduced for Intel Macs.

Well, the clock numbers seem to flip differently. We also have entered into a new era of transparency. I'm happy for what they didn't remove. This is the last hurrah, however. Next year will be on the outside looking in..

SUCCESS!!   I finally figured out what was wrong with not getting prompted for updates.  I had tried everything or so I thought.  What I did was to remove the revpatch from boot args.  Saved and rebooted.  Then I logged in and typed in the arg again manually.  Before I was guilty of copying and pasting it in.  I think this was the issue.  So I saved and rebooted and checked again for the update.  Lo and behold there it was the release.  I have managed to install it on both my test SSDs and everything went fine.  I updated graphics with OCLP-mod and reenabled Bluetooth.  Everything working perfectly.  I don’t bother with wi-fi as I don’t use it.

Thanks for all your help folks!

Cheers, Howard

PS  I also moved the revpatch arg closer to the front of the pack right behind verbose.  Not sure if this influenced anything.

Anyone have the link to the full installer. Mine shows up to date but it's not.

@Anto65 is the expert in full installer links. I usually check Mr. Macintosh website https://mrmacintosh.com/macos-tahoe-full-installer-database-download-directly-from-apple/

@Zevgoli Not familiar with your hack, so I don't have details to examine, so this is just a guess: If you are using BluetoolFixup.kext version 2.7.0 or later, you may need boot-arg -btlfxboardid.

 See this.

If this doesn't work and you still need help with Bluetooth, post your EFI for others to examine.

Or just enjoy Tahoe for the next 4-5 years on your current hack knowing that nothing fascinating has been released for the last 3 OS versions :)

That's exactly what I would do if I could figure out how to run the latest XCode in older versions of macOS.  I'll eventually be buying an inexpensive Apple Silicon Mini.

Hey Deeveedee,  This worked perfectly on both my drives.  Thanks so much!

Yes, this would be my last hackintosh. If I am to go the Apple route in the future, I will just get the basic M4/M5 Mini for $599. It's worth the price and there's no PC alternative in terms of performance in the same price bracket. Anyhow, it was a nice journey starting with MacOS Mountain Lion :)

I tried to install Tahoe on my Dell laptop but it failed. Anybody having luck with 8 gen Intel laptop and Tahoe?

Hi guys, here’s some tips for anyone who wants to use GPT or Claude with Xcode integration.

Works on hack too ;) not only in arm64

@CloverLeaf 8th Gen laptop is very common.  A search will reveal multiple GitHub repos with posted 8th Gen intel EFIs.

Yes I am aware, thank you! I am actually able to boot Tahoe from a separate preinstalled NVME, but not to update Sequoia -> Tahoe.

I just did a clean install of macOS Tahoe on my Z270 rig without WEG and only using device properties for my RX 580, the installation went smoothly except for the purple lines when the GPU being initialized during boot's second stage which was expected.

I attached two config.plist files for RX 580/590 and TX 6800/6800XT GPUs if any one is interested.

Just copy the DeviceProperties to your config and give it a try,

Let me know how it works.

config-rx580.plist 6800XT - config.plist

  1. ChatGPT has been included since the first Xcode 26 beta, Claude in beta 7, if I remember well.
  2. It has nothing to do with hackintosh, Apple made 2 xcode 26 versions (apple silicon and universal), that universal's one is for a better transitions of x86_64 apps to arm64)

;)

Nice! So I just realized this now, but it’s not as great as other IDEs like Cursor, Warp, VS Code, and WindSurf — I found it kind of weak and too resource-hungry.

Thanks for the tip! On the hack it seemed to work better to me, but maybe that’s just my impression ;)

But anyway works with my Hack too, and I also compile the versions for both architectures, arm64 and x86_64.

Spoiler

Fresh install on my Dell 7400. Everything seems to be working, I see no difference in performance compared to Sequoia and Sonoma. Bluetooth works ONLY with -lilubetaall as for the moment. Audio is working perfectly fine with VoodooHDA. Wifi using Heliport and itlwm. kext. The MicroSD card reader status is unknown, yet to test it (working fine with previous OS versions). Touchscreen is working as expected.

EFI available on my GitHub - macOS Tahoe
