Ok,

About five hours running, Photoshop, music, Office, subtitles... no problems. I'll keep the audio with Sound Blaster Play 3 and it'll stay that way... I don't want to go back to the days of patching kext and/or kernel...

Thanks to all the developers.

When will the InstallAssistant.pkg RC be available? Does anyone know how to obtain or publish it?

in the opencore config you have to add on the boot-args revpatch=sbvmm

in this case you don't need the external update link

No. What I want is the complete package published here so I can create an installation USB or install it from that complete package.

If you want to try, run this command
... it's downloading, I don't know what, if it's really the RC or the PKG , or install above ... ?

lupi@iMac-di-Lupi ~ % softwareupdate --fetch-full-installer --full-installer-version 26.0 Beta RC

Scanning for 26.0 installer

Installing: 9.0%

( ... Usually the full installer of the RC is never released )

I stopped it, I don't have many GB available 🙃

Edit : Not valid .. . download the B9 not RC

Thx eSaF

So don't waste time and wait for the final version which will be released next Monday the 15th, just a few days left.

And why in macOS Tahoe does it say Version 26.0 (25A5349a) and not 26.0 (25A353)?

If you used MKI or OCLP-MOD to patch AppleHda ... you need to install the new KDK

Edit : a no kaoskinkae explained that his app has a bug

Bro I use the Script you posted to see if RC was offered as a D/Load.

Unfortunately the version is the previous Beta 25A5351b.

I used it to do a clean install and noted the version was the previous.

I didn't mind so much as I did it on a test Drive, plus it makes good practice for me.

Simply because the OP post the wrong version as you correctly pointed out it should be (25A353).

As I assumed, the RC was never released as a FI.
But did you install it directly or download the PKG?

Come on, you had an hour to kill time.

😂
There are only a few days left now... the release date is expected on the 15th... let's wait.

Late to the party again! :hysterical:  You all are too fast for me!  Fast and easy upgrade from Tahoe Beta 9 -> Tahoe RC 1.  Still using VoodooHDA with perfect audio, so I haven't needed to touch audio (no post-install patches, no re-installation of kexts) since Tahoe Beta 2.  SIP csr-actiive-config stays at <01000000>.  Just works and works well.

Incremental Upgrade

Since it's RC, "Analytics. & Improvements > Share Mac Analytics" remained disabled

Followed same upgrade process as with previous Tahoe Beta upgrades

  1. Disable BluetoolFixup.kext and add -wegnoegpu boot-arg
  2. OTA Tahoe Upgrade
  3. Re-enable BluetoolFixup.kext and remove -wegnoegpu boot-arg

OCLP-MOD just downloads and uses the correct  KDK automatically…  No need to download the KDKs separately.

I could not find any bug in "About this Hack" and it properly shows the correct Version 25A353 after the OCLP-Mod root patching.

Haven't reported status about my 2010 Dell Latitude E6410 for a long time... Smooth upgrade from Tahoe Beta 9 -> Tahoe RC 1 on my HackBookPro6,2.  Wating patiently for OCLP 3.0.0 post-install patches for non-metal NVidia Tesla graphics, Brcm Wi-Fi and Apple HDA.

OTA Upgrade (full installer)

I have lost ethernet connectivity with the installation of the RC.  It tells me that ethernet is not connected when it is plugged in. There is also no LED activity for ethernet.  I will report back as I work on and eventually resolve this issue.  I'm using the RealtekRTL8111.kext v. 2.5.0 and System Information reports "There was an error while gathering Ethernet device information."

LATER:  Well, that was easy. I just reverted from RealtekRTL8111.kext v. 2.5.0 to version 2.4.2.  Now, ethernet is working again.  Everything is running very well on Tahoe and I am just waiting, like many others, for the OCLP developers to hopefully find a solution for Broadcom wireless.

Hi all!

I've been following this thread for sometime now.. great stuff! I managed to update my Dell XPS 7590 to macOS Tahoe RC... it works fine, however I'm having trouble enabling audio using MyKextInstaller... after installing the AppleHDA kext I'm unable to boot when I enable secure boot model in OC and try to boot it... the computer restarts right away and then the recovery partition is booted automatically...  it boots (and audio works) with secure boot model disabled tho..  I've had to go through the steps described in the "Stuck on boot after root patching" section of the Dortania guide to make it boot again with secure boot model enabled...

Any ideas?

Cheers,

D.

EDIT: Important to mention that I've another partition on the same disk where I'm running macOS Sequoia that's root patched with OCLP 2.4.1 to enable 'modern wireless"... i.e. the intel Wireless.

On my 2010 Dell Latitude E6410 HackBookPro6,2, I tweak a couple of System Settings to improve macOS GUI responsiveness with the laptop's old NVidia Tesla graphics.  These same tweaks improve responsiveness of macOS Tahoe GUI on my HP EliteDesk 800 G4/G5 Mini HackMIni8,1's RX 560x and UHD 630 iGPU:

  • System Settings > Accessibility > Display > Reduce Transparency: Enable
  • System Settings > Accessibility > Motion > Reduce Motion: Enable

Other System Settings that I modify to improve GUI responsiveness on my old Latitude E6410 (not on my HackMIni8,1) are:

  • System Settings > Desktop & Dock > Minimized Windows Animation: Scale Effect
  • System Settings > Desktop & Dock > Minimize Windows into Application Icon: Disable
  • System Settings > Desktop & Dock > Animate Opening Applications: Disable
  • System Settings > Wallpaper > Colors (choose any color, not one of the dynamic wallpapers)

That all sounds good and well, if it also worked on my late 2013 iMac (27-inch) with a GeForce GTX 780M, only QE/CI, i.e. full graphics support, in Tahoe 26.

I would be happy if the developers of OCLP and others would address this issue beyond just focusing on networking and WiFi.

Hi @Renard45
I can get working USB ports on my Haswell rig with your EFI, but BT and ETH doesn´t works also, I have a RTL 8111 that´s your EFI includes the kext, and also a BRCM 2070A as a USB BT dongle. ALC 892 and HD 4600 depends on OCLP team dev.
Can you help me with that?
Thank you.

Do you get tahoe desktop? for my case i always have black screen with mouse cursor after verbose (i only have an old nvidia graphic card) so i don't know how to resolve my issue, i'm waiting Tahoe final release and OCLP update for Tahoe
