Smooth upgrade of my HackMini8,1 from Sequoia 15.2 (Release) to 15.3 (Release).  No issues.  Booting with OC 1.0.3.  Not using OCLP on this hack.  SIP fully enabled.  To initiate the incremental upgrade via OTA, I booted with BluetoolFixup.kext disabled and then enabled BluetoolFixup.kext for subsequent phases of the upgrade.

EDIT: And smooth upgrade of my HackBookPro6,2.  Posting this with Safari 18.3.  All good.  Patched with OCLP 2.2.0.  Booting with OC 1.0.3.

@AlfredoM 15.3 Release is the same as RC 24D60.  On my Sequoia volume that I upgraded to 15.3 RC 24D60, I do not see a notification of the final Release (because the RC is the Release).  Notice that 24D60 build number is the same for the RC and the Release.

Finally, I managed to update to 15.3. With a few difficulties: via SoftwareUpdate, the download time was really too long and was getting stuck. So I used MIST to download the Release.

Then I launched the installation on my SMBIOS MacPro6,1 OCLP.

I Did Clean Install To A Partition Sequoia On My iMac SSD Using OCLP USB

Everything Went Well

Did An Upgrade On Other Partition Of Ventura To Latest Version, Using OCLP USB

Everything Again, Went Well

Used Sequoia USB To Upgrade Ventura, Bad Move, Errored Out WTF!

Bye Bye Ventura, Just As Well I Had Time Machine

Restored The Stuffed Ventura Partition With The Sequoia Partition

I Should Add That In Order To Make The OCLP USB Drives, I Had To Run 2

Instances Of OCLP As The First On Errors Out, Running The 2nd Instance Results

There are doubts that this method (OCLP USB Drive) is guaranteed to work in all situations (clean installation, update) and all macOS versions.

The time savings are minimal. I'd rather do it the old fashioned way: Clean install, then OCLP Patch; Update, then OCLP Patch...

Hi,

I am unable to upgrade Sequoia 15.2 to 15.3 on my Optiplex 9020.  The incremental update does not show up in the update window.  I have BluetoolFixup.kext disabled rebooted and the same story.

I am running Opencore 1.03 and everything else is working fine.  Any suggestions?

Cheers, Zevgoli

Hi, few things to check, insure SecureBootModel is set to Disabled in the config.plist

Also revpatch=sbvmmboot is in boot-arg as well as the RestrictEvents.kext is in the kext folder and entered in the config.plist. With all that is mentioned done, reboot, clean NvRAM, on reaching the Desktop check again and all should be well for the Incremental Update as long as OCLP changes has been reverted (that is if you've use the patching for WIFI).

Hey,

Well this worked and I was able to download the 15.3 update.  However during the install it seized up after a couple of reboots at a screen with the apple logo and progress bar frozen.  I had to shut down and saw what would happen on the reboot.  The screen froze again at the exact same point.  I tried a recovery but was unable to recover the OS.  So tomorrow I will have to reinstall via the original USB stick and restore to 15.2 via Time Machine.  I’m not going to try and upgrade for the time being.

Obviously something is not quite right with your settings.

It would be much better if you furnish your profile with your machine specs to give others a clear view of the potential problem.

Another aid would be to Compress, zip and post your EFI Folder here so it can be looked at for any possible mismatch within.
