I call b/s. Apple would be cannibalizing its holiday iPod sales with an iPhone at this point. All the people who want low-capacity music players - those who held off to get a new Nano or Shuffle - would wind up getting the phone, instead of eventually buying both.

According to TESS trademark search, the following have registered trademarks for iPhone

1. Cisco, may now be usable by Infogear, reg# 2293011.

2. An application by Ocean Telecom Services

3. Teledex LLC

Only the Cisco one, has a registration number, the others are just applications.

You can search TESS yourself at: http://www.uspto.gov/main/trademarks.htm

Ha... well that site was telling the truth. The iPhone did come out today, but it wasn't an Apple cellphone. Linksys makes it. I knew they were toying with people and giving open-ended statements to create a buzz.

By the time the true Apple cellphone comes out, any credible insider info on it is probably going to be ignored at this point after being led on a wild goose chase for such a long time.
