SMBIOS19,1 was chosen for best compatibility with CSR BT dongle. After OCLP patch for Nvidia Kepler and USB 1,1, BT (Apple BT keyboard), BT still works only through USB 2.0 Hub. Display is VGA, with boot arg -agdpmod=vit9696 because OCLP had problem with second boot screen which goes to black if VGA is connected. notobo Posted February 7, 2023 Share Posted February 7, 2023 Addendum: When you map USB ports with USBMap, USB1,1 injector.kext from OCLP recognize all UHCI 1,1 ports properly with keyboard, mouse, BT dongle etc… Hub 2.0 or 3.0 is therefore only needed for first Ventura install and update. If you have Apple BT keyboard, you can on Hackintosh install Ventura from scratch with ordinary BT dongle on USB Hub. On real Mac you cant, you must use only Usb wired keyboard or original Apple Broadcom wifi/BT adapter (or Fenvi) because BT dongles are not functioning. People have problems installing Ventura from USB because they make mistake of removing USB boot stick after first restart. fusion71au Posted February 9, 2023 Share Posted February 9, 2023 (edited) Hi Guys, I’m a little late to the party but after finding out that Open Core Legacy Patcher 0.6.1 enables Ventura to run on legacy Macs like iMac11,3 and MacBookPro5,1, I thought I might try booting Ventura 13.2 on my legacy BIOS (non UEFI) hacks with OC 0.8.9 and kernel and kext patches adapted from OCLP 0.6.1… Eg Dell XPS M1530 (before applying OCLP Wireless patch and graphics patches for Nvidia Tesla) Spoiler Eg Gigabyte P55A-UD3 after applying patch for Atheros Wireless and non metal AMD Terascale 2 graphics patches for ATI HD 5770 Spoiler Attached is the EFI folder for the Gigabyte P55A-UD3:OC 0.8.9 for iMac11,3 I highly recommend reading @khronokernel's explanation for the various patches used in OCLP and also the specific changes needed to boot Ventura. Thanks to him and all the OC/OCLP developers that keep our ancient hacks running . Placed the newly built OC EFI Folder onto the Partition of the drive after backing up my original one. 6. Boot off the new EFI, clean the NvRAM twice, rebooted and the anomaly is still there (see attached) So as you stated it has nothing to do with OCAT, yes I did build the released OC 0.8.9 version. To be honest it is a bit unsightly but it's only there for approximately 2 seconds or so, one way out of it I suppose is to disable Verbose mode although I like to inspect any potential Boot up missteps. Thank you @eSaF for clearing up doubt regarding the cause of this issue- as you say it has nothing to due with what is used to edit OC. Personally I always use OCAT, never OC Configurator cause as you pointed out in one of your earlier posts, OCAT has the ability to 'sync' the config.plist and EFI which I find ensures boot errors are eliminated correctly. I now ignore this verbose intrusion in the Picker and true it only happens for seconds. Developers, you continue to amaze me! EDIT: On this Legacy Hack, I am continuing to use FakeSMC3 instead of VirtualSMC. Switching to FakeSMC3 as noted here has resolved all boot issues. Big Sur, Monterey and Ventura boot flawlessly with the same EFI on this old hack. I continue to use VirtualSMC on my KabyLake-R and CoffeeLake hacks, but for me, FakeSMC3 is best for this legacy Arrandale/NVidia hack.
