nixblicker
Hi, I was able to pimp my 10.4.7 with the new SSE2-kernel (beta9) from semthex. Now I have the kernel 8.8.1 and QE/CI using Titan on my Pentium M (SSE2-only). I have a 10.4.7 system working! What I did: 1. Installed the JaS 10.4.8 on a second partition. 2. Than I backuped my /System/Library/Extension folder 3. I copied the Extensions-folder from the 10.4.8 to my 10.4.7 4. Finally I copied the OpenGL.framework (in /System/Library/Frameworks) from the 10.4.8 to my 10.4.7 5. Deleted the Extensions.mkext and Extensions.kextchache 6. Reboot Now I have a 10.4.7 with kernel 8.8.1 from SUPER-semthex! I also have QE&CI with Titan and my NVidia graphics card! semthex
I was not aware that JaS released a 10.4.8 for SSE2. It contained the old 8.4.1 Kernel. wow
Thats great. Did you already tried things, like playing videos with iTunes? I believe that was a problem before. Did you notice other things now you have QE and CI? Are things running better and smoother now? Any crashes or rockstable Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/35141-1047-with-semthex-sse2-kernel-beta9/#findComment-249573 Share on other sites

Dense
Got past the APCI issue. Move out IOPCICardFamily.kext. I am stuck a bit further waiting on root device now. Adding in the IOATAFamily.kext fixed issues with waiting on boot device. Have managed to get to single user mode now but keyboard doesnt work. GUI mode hangs at Login Window. Ezhoon
1. Installed the JaS 10.4.8 on a second partition. You did this by installing JaS 10.4.7 on a second partition and then applied JaS.10.4.8.SSE2.Intel.Only.Combo.Update.pkg, right? nixblicker
I also needed to remove the IOPCCardFamily.kext to get past the ACPI-panic! I am currently at work. So I can't check this but I might also had copied the Kernel.framework from the 10.4.8 to the 10.4.7! I am not sure since my 10.4.7 is quite old and I did a lot of copying over the last months! I think my 10.4.7 contains files from 10.4.1 - 10.4.8 Haven't tried iTunes 7.0 yet! Was quite late yesterday! I will do this today in the evening! But if semthex has only ported maxxuss's emulator to his kernel he might have not added the proper support for the haddpd (?) instruction iTunes 7.0 needed. Or did you semthex? But -TiLT- has made a nice clean install with 10.4.8, so you might want to check out his thread. Because I would really like to get a clean install again and not my 10.4.7 mess!
