random_user_234
Good day hackintoshers! I have a successful system but hoping to get boot time down. Looking under the logs the main time sinks are as follows: 19:329 14:943 OCSMC: SmcReadValue Key 4242494E Size 1 27:097 07:767 OC: Trying XNU hook on System\Library\PrelinkedKernels\prelinkedkernel 27:237 00:139 OC: Kext reservation size 8294400 36:143 08:906 OC: Result of XNU hook on System\Library\PrelinkedKernels\prelinkedkernel is Success the big 3 add almost 30 seconds to the boot time and I'm wondering if there's any way to speed these up? I'm running 10.15.5 with FileVault2 and NVME SSD so I figured I could get boot time to under 30 seconds, but it takes me about 1 min to get from BootPicker to my system. Thanks for your help! 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/350754-opencore-general-discussion/page/226/#findComment-2732158 Share on other sites

Cyberdevs
@iCanaro Yes the same happened here, I thing when you install an application it will update the preboot volume and the main Big Sur drive and therefore it will resolve the preboot issue in the picker. 3 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/350754-opencore-general-discussion/page/226/#findComment-2732320 Share on other sites

Hentz
Anyone with OC 0.6.0 / BigSur and an Aquantia AQC107 Card? I have a Sonnet Solo10G SFP + which loads OOB in Catalina - with the exact same OC bootloader 0.6.0 config and which is not detected in BigSur. This is the same version of kext (AppleEthernetAquantiaAqtion.kext - 1.0.64) When I press the little magnifying glass in Hakintool (PCI Tab) in Catalina it points to the correct kext (/System/Library/Extensions/IONetworkingFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleEthernetAquantiaAqtion) In Bigsur it points to an other kext.(/System/Library/Extensions/IOPCIFamily) Thanks for your help Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/350754-opencore-general-discussion/page/226/#findComment-2732392 Share on other sites

ltooz_audis
I seem to iron out most of the kinks on OC except this RTC thing. If I boot with bootcamp to Windows or Clover boots to Catalina, when I reboot, the rtc seems to sync with the bios RTC, hence I have no POST ERROR due to RTC loss power although the RTC still ticking in the bios. When I boot with OC, the sync seems to be out, the bios shows power loss somehow. If anyone can show me what I should do, I read so many RTC problems with OC, but none of them seem to pertain to my problem here. I tried DisableRtcChecksum = yes, WriteFlash = Yes, and none working. Everything works perfectly, although this problem doesn't affect the performance or booting, just have to boot twice, but it seems to contribute on Catalina installation while the hard drive is internal. Thanks, Louis Edited July 29, 2020 by ltooz_audis Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/350754-opencore-general-discussion/page/226/#findComment-2732461 Share on other sites
