X1600 Dual Display Help

Hey there,

The card is an ASUS EAX1600PRO/TD Series ( More Info at ASUS Website)

 

Using JAS 10.4.7 with SSE3 Patch + X1600 Patch i get Full QE/CI Support on Both Monitors wich work in Mirroring mode.. what i want is Desktop Extension ( if that`s what it`s called )..

The card has 1 VGA and 1 DVI port and i'm using on both outputs CRT Monitors ( DVI>VGA adaptor on the DVI port.. so i can hook up the CRT monitor).

 

I've tryed using dualx1600natit.zip but it doesn`t do anything.. (maby i need a little help with installing this).

Also when using Natit installer by Neopheus the card was detected ok and showed Radeon X1600 Series / Radeon X1600 Series Secondary in the PCI_List (System Profiler) but QE/CI were disabled (I did not edit the ATIRadeonX1000* kext`s for that) but the Displays are still in Mirroring Mode..

 

Also what is interesting is that System profiler outputs Mirrored OFF.. when it does work.

I have your problem too but I have a x1600xt ultimate silent by sapphire....

no way to work in extended mode....

no my DVI dont work anda agpgart dont have any speed increase for me.

 

and natit id give me a poor opengl speed.. you have idea what cause this?

BTW: i think in flash my vga bios with a ASUS x1600. is safe!?

im not sure flash is the answer, i have a asus x1600 pcie in another system,

with old kernel but the dvi is dead on that one as well, i dont have the heart to upgrade that one to the 10.4.8

and new kernel because its running so smooth,

 

I think its a matter or working out the bugs in natit, must be a way to enable the port,

 

my card primary is 71c2

secondary 71e2

 

in windows with dvi shows port 71c2

in mac os shows 71c2 d-sub

 

so it has to be with natit or something or with ati driver itself

 

im going to try removing agpgart and see what happens, could be the problem lol or might just get a nvidia card but would rather wait for direct x10 cards to come down, my collection of video cards is getting out of hand

 

and have you tried the old apple agp driver um think it was appleI386pci.kext wonder what that will do

I just install a x1600dual plist, have dual, but vga display is too fliker...

I delete all LVDS key and noe my DVI port is work (DFP1,EDID), only have a clone display, but if i boot only my DVI display this work, but if you use a detect display a signal is lost....

micky, can you help advising how DVI would work.

 

I have a X1600XT but so far I can have DVI to VGA adaptor working. No DVI.

 

My system is 10.8.4 with 8.8.1 Kernel.

Hi, yes

i have a vga and dvi working, but dont have extend mod, onlu mirror and i dont usa e dvi2vga for this.

 

dont use a detect display fuction, this will losta a dvi video signal, and olly a vga port is wirk!

Can you give a step by step of what you did? From a clean install?

Hi all,

 

Ok lets go!

 

1# install a natit uni.kext and caucho info.plist,

2# put my DVI monitor EDID into plist in DFP@1 EDID , i use a proper plist editor for this!

3# delete e LVDS key for a plist file ( all key, only have now a DFP@1 kay into file)

4# rapair all permissions and reboot.

 

note, i have signal im DVI port, but if i use a detect display function i loose a video signal!,

if a analogic monitor is plug in VGA port i have a mirror screnn (display) but no have dual extend!

a analogic display is shows in ioreg = CRT2 display.

 

i hope this help! sorry my bad inglish..
