  1. Latest?

I can't find 10.4.10 on demonoid, only on Pirate Bay, and then with next to no seeders. I found the XxX one, and I'm getting it slowly, but I can't tell if it supports Intel/SSE2. I just now found the Kalyways 10.4.10 on newsgroups, but again I can't tell if it supports Intel/SSE2. Can anyone help me out?
  2. I have a tri-boot system, with XP home, FC5, and OSX. I installed Parallels onto OSX, and used it to boot XP. Of course, because Parallels uses all emulated hardware, XP finds all these different devices than the ones that it's used to. So it tells me that it needs to be re-activated, but it still boots. It installs a bunch of different hardware devices. Now, when I do a native boot of XP, it finds two devices that it can't find drivers for: "Primary IDE channel" and "Secondary IDE channel". It gives me an error that says "driver not intended for this platform." Since it can't find drivers, it does this every time it boots. Everything seems to be working fine, I can access all my drives. Any ideas?
  3. Quad boot with shared documents

I've had trouble with the virtualization thing. I can get XP to virtualize FC5 using VMWare, but it's a pain because of graphics drivers. I have my configuration for FC5 setup to do dual monitors (aka, extended desktop). VMWare can't do that, so in order to get FC5 to boot smoothly, I have to change the configuration file from inside XP before I boot FC5, then change it back when I'm done. For me, virtualizing OSX inside XP using VMWare runs really slowly, and virtualizing XP inside OSX using Parallels runs extremely slowly. Also, when I boot XP inside OSX, XP complains about the system configuration has changed dramatically and it needs to be re-activated. I couldn't get VMWare Fusion to install on my OSX, I believe because my machine only has SSE2. Pain in the butt. I haven't tried VMWare in Linux. What I think would be really cool would be if your machine has Intel VT, so that you could use Xen. Then use Xen to boot the other operating systems, and the virtualization is done on a more hardware level. At least, I think that's possible, but I don't have the hardware necessary to do it.
  4. X1600 Dual Display Help

Can you give a step by step of what you did? From a clean install?
  5. Natit_Uni won't open?

Well, I wiped my install last night, and installed 10.4.8 JaS DVD straight, without installing 10.4.7 first. The only "Customized" part of the install that I checked was for Intel SSE2. Now I installed Natit_Uni fine. Unfortunately, it didn't fix the dual monitor issue... I tried the dualx1600.plist, but I can't quite figure it out. But I think that's for another post. But that plist is compatible with using the Natit installer, no?
  6. Natit_Uni won't open?

So I finally got 10.4.8 with 8.8.1 kernel running, and I downloaded the Natit_Uni_1.0.pkg file. I double click it, and it starts Installer, then installer closes about 1 second later. I installed JaS 10.4.7 SSE2 dvd, then the new JaS 10.4.8 SSE2 dvd (not the Combo Update). Any ideas?
  7. x1600Pro - How does this work?

Yeah, I looked at that installer, but it says that it only works with kernel 8.8.1. I tried to install it anyway, and it didn't seem to do anything. Currently, my system hangs at loginwindow.app. I do have an AGP card. .....?
  8. x1600Pro - How does this work?

There's so much unorganized information about Natit that I'm confused. I have an x1600Pro and Intel w/ SSE2. I've installed the JaS 10.4.7 version, with the x1600 patch that was available in the customize menu when I installed. Right now I don't have CI or QE, so I was trying to get Natit to work. I'm using the 8.4.1 kernel, so I can't use the magic installer, and I can't figure out how to get the 8.8.1 kernel installed correctly. Questions: Does Natit have to be compiled for different kernel versions? I'm tri booting XP/OSX/Fedora5. How can I boot Darwin with -v so I can see what it's doing when it boots? Is the most recent Natit version (Natit_ATIauto) the "best"? Do they all work? Should I try different versions? Does the dualx1600natit.plist file work with x1600Pro? System Profiler sees my card as PCI. Do I need AGPGart for Natit to work?
  9. OS X in Xen?

So unless you have a machine that supports Intel VT, this won't work? The wikipedia article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtualization_Technology seems to say that Intel VT was launched in Spring 2005, so any machine older than this won't have VT, right? How can I check? I have a P4 3ghz, socket 478.
  10. Xen and osx86?

Ok, so I've successfully got WinXP, Fedora 5, and OSX 10.4.7 to tri-boot on my Intel machine. Now I want a way tu run them all at the same time, with free software (aka, not VMWare). Does anyone have Xen working with osx86? I don't really know anything about Xen or how to set it up. Is it the best solution? --EDIT-- Answered my own question: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...2800&hl=Xen Sorry bout that guys...
