My internet provider had problems and I got no network. The network cable was plugged to the computer and connected. My firewall was active. I tried to open adobe programs and DaVinci resolve but it wouldn’t work. I tried different things and it turned out that these programs wouldn’t work if I had an active connection without actually having internet from provider. The problem was solved once I pulled the network cable or deleted Ethernet connection in system preferences or disable fire wall. So somehow the combination of having an internet connection that doesn’t work plus fire wall active let’s certain software not open. Maybe someone like to try and check if it’s a common problem on Catalina. Just connect your computer to a router without network and activate fire wall and see if resolve or adobe opens. Hi buddy, Sorry I’m a little confused to what’s going on with you, I just tried to recreate your problem but no can do. I don’t have da Vinci but I do have a load of adobe stuff and it all works no matter what I do to it. FTFT1234
Hey guys, first of all, I have to thank @AudioGod for the great tutorials. I've switched to OpenCore a while back using your 0.5.7 EFI folder with some little adjustments (mainly exchanging the builtin boot picker for the OpenCanopy one). Now I've tried to update to OpenCore 0.5.8 using your EFI folder. When using the builtin boot picker everything works fine (despite the tools like nvram reset etc. are not visible for some reason). But when I try to switch to OpenCanopy, I can't use the Option key on startup to access the boot picker (or any other action key for that matter, like cmd+R for booting into Recovery mode). I've set the PickerMode to External, PollAppleHotKeys to true, ShowPicker to false, TakeoffDelay to 5000 (as it was on 0.5.7), and Timeout to 0. This exact configuration did work perfectly on 0.5.7, but for some reason, I can't get the action keys to work with OpenCore 0.5.8. Did I miss something? Can anyone help me? I've tried a lot of things, changing PollAppleHotKeys to false, TakeoffDelay to 10000, etc. I can verify that OpenCanopy works, as I can get into it when setting ShowPicker to true. Oh, and I've also removed OpenUsbKbDxe.efi while migrating to 0.5.8, as it is no longer included in AudioGod's EFI folder. Re-enabling that driver unfortunately didn't help either. I hope someone can help me, as I have to switch operating systems quite frequently and really like the default Apple boot picker. Hey, OpenCanopy is pre alpha in 057 and 058 and this is why I never switched it on as standard. It has many flaws in that version but from 059 it shall be enabled as standard as it’s now working properly for the first time. About the missing features on the bootpicker, I’ve hidden them but all you have to do is hit the space bar when you get to the bootpicker to reveal them again. Lastly and just in case You didn’t know, when your moving from one version to another don’t try and keep the old config.plist and use the new one in the new EFI as OpenCore changes radically from version to version, so much so that the old plist is always invalid when a new version comes out. Thank you for your reply! I'll just wait for OpenCore v0.5.9 then, it shouldn't be that long anymore at it seems that a new version gets released every month. I know that a given OpenCore version can be drastically different from the one before, that's why I have my EFI folder in a git repository. When it's time to update OpenCore, I use your new EFI folder as a baseline and just discard those differences between your new config.plist and my old one, which I need or want to keep. Mostly that's just my serial number etc., and the Quirks I have to set to true as I haven't unlocked my MSR. If your using the same board as this thread then I’ve got all the quirks set up perfectly already. if I was you I would just use the new plist and move your sn uuid and mlb across to it and try it. im forever fine tuning the EFI with every revision and have quirks set up the way they are Intentionally. Try and if you disagree with how I have it then change it from there but you should find my quirks settings and what ssdts I use and how I use them is pretty much perfect (don’t add any extra ssdt, patches or drivers unless it’s for something like TB etc etc) 0.5.9 by my reckoning should be out sometime next week. Lastly, I would strongly advise you to unlock your MSR for OpenCore, I have a bios profile that gives you all the correct bios settings and a unlocked MSR, All you need to do is save it to a fat formatted usb thumb drive and load it in via bios profiles and once it’s loaded just save and exit and that’s it. Your MSR will be unlocked from then on. Shafrom
Hey guys! At the first, I want to say many nice word to author for great guide, thanx of lot! Next words - I'm from Russia and sorry for my English, I'm just learning (and just a little bit of Google translate ) And now the essence of the problem. I carefully studied the manual, made the installation strictly according to it, following the instructions, I also set everything up according to the manual (including author original EFI for my motherboard and GPU and CFG Unlock BIOS profile). All work fine for me. But... At the end of the manual there are recommendations for those who have a sleep problem or for those who have a Corsair system with a USB connection to the motherboard (there is a file attached and a screenshot of how to enable it in the clover). I placed the file in the specified folder, but I do not have in the settings what is shown in the screenshot in the manual (XPRW change Method) in config.plist. How to be? I have a Corsair power supply connected to the motherboard via USB and my computer does not want to sleep, it wakes up as soon as I send it to sleep. If you disconnect the USB cable from the motherboard, then the computer sleeps well. And second simple question. Few days ago new release of Catalina - 10.15.5 - can I update just clicking in Settings "Update now" or need some actions before (maybe after update) for still working without problem...? So basically all settings are the same as in your plist and it all works great, except for the action keys. Your welcome buddy and as for MSR unlock and OC well the best thing I can suggest is to read the Section in the OC vanilla guide about why you should run with a MSR unlocked. It’s also been covered on here about 1000 times now but OC explain it best. AudioGod
Clover & OpenCore EFI Updates (10.15.5 Ready), 1st June 2020 (Use With Bios Revision F12d) The EFIs and DSDTs have now been updated to the my latest versions. Changes made include, AppleALC 1.5.0 Lilu 1.4.5 WhateverGreen 1.4.0 VirtualSMC 1.1.4 IntelMausi 1.0.3 Clover Updated to Revision 5118 OpenCore Updated to Revision 0.5.9 OpenCanopy is now Enabled as Standard Plus other major tweaks and changes to all of the configs Clover EFI Update - 01/06/2020 - Use with Bios revision F12d Only or Replace with the older F11 DSDT if you don't want to update the bios Clover Z390 Pro Navi Vega EFI 010620.zip - Vega, Navi (5700, 5700XT etc), Radeon VII DSDT EFI Clover Z390 Pro Polaris EFI 010620.zip - RX500 Polaris Series (RX590, 580, 570 etc) DSDT EFI Note - If your not using a 5700 XT or any other Navi GPU then remove agdpmod=pikera from the boot arguments. Please Note - I have now set KernelPM to No as standard so if you don’t have a unlocked MSR or not using my MSR Unlocked Bios Profile then go into the Clover Config.plist and set KernelPM to Yes or you won’t be able to boot up. An even better fix would be to unlock your MSR using my profile method. OpenCore EFI Update - 01/06/2020 Myself and @texem have now created a OpenCore EFI done the way the OpenCore Devs intended it to be made, There is no DSDT in use so you can use this EFI on any supported GPU and the SSDTs have been made so they will not be used in any other Operating System apart from MacOS. OpenCore 059 Z390 Pro 19,1 010620.zip - OpenCore v0.5.9, SMBios iMac19,1 OpenCore 059 Z390 Pro 1,1 010620.zip - OpenCore v0.5.9, SMBios iMacPro1,1 (IGPU Disabled) Note - If your not using a 5700 XT or any other Navi GPU then remove agdpmod=pikera from the boot arguments. Note 2 - Do not try to carry across your old OpenCore Config.plist to the new EFI as to many changes have occurred in 0.5.9. Use the new Config.plist instead. For OpenCore Using PlistEdit Pro add your details by modifying the following PLEASE NOTE - These EFIs are setup to be used with your msr Unlocked so make sure you use the F12d Unlocked Profile but if for any reason you can not unlock MSR then just modify following in the OpenCore config.plist : Additional Downloads mb_bios_z390-aorus-pro_f12d.zip - Aorus Z390 PRO Firmware F12d PlistEdit Pro.zip - PlistEdit Pro (use to edit OpenCore) CFG Unlock (MSR) F12d (F12c Pro WIFI) BIOS Profile - The Easy Way I have made this bios profile for you all to use that will unlock CFG on your motherboard making it play alot more friendly with the NVRam. It also has all the bios settings listed on this guide pre done and saved onto the profile. F12d_UNLOCK.zip - Use with Z390 Pro Bios Revision F12d ONLY F12c Unlock.zip - Use with Z390 Pro WIFI Bios Revision F12c ONLY 1 - Download the profile and save it to a USB Key 2 - Go into the bios, 3 - Load the profile, 4 - Save and exit 5 - Go straight back into the bios and save your bios to a new profile and name it Default CFG Unlocked or something like that. 6 - Boot back into Catalina go into your clover config and under Kernal and Kext Patches Uncheck KernalPM 7 - Save the changes and then restart and your done, your motherboard will now be CFG (MSR) Unlocked PLEASE NOTE - If you reset the bios or load bios defaults it will clear the Unlock making CFG Locked again.
