Im all out of ideas buddy, It should be working fine. Nobody’s ever had a problem like this with OpenCore and my EFI.

Somethings not right that’s for sure and it’s something to do with your setup against my EFI but what I just can’t work it out.

Ive not given up on you though I’m just deep in thought about it.
I can’t reproduce your problem over here and I have tried.

hhhmmmmmm (Thinking)

I re-installed again from scratch and it seems like its working now, but (there is always but(t)), now when my mac os booting at start the logo and progress bar is on my main screen (i got 2), but after some time in boot progress it jumps to my second screen and then welcome screen appears on my main screen, how to deal with it, ie remove those jumpings?
Also can you install bootcamp control panel in windows, so you can reboot to mac os from windows (it writes to nvram the boot drive to boot from i think)?
And can you install bootcamp mac drivers on windows?

Play with the order you have your monitors connected to the gpu until you find one that plays nicely. I have my main screen coming out of the far left dp. My tv from the HDMI and second monitor on the next dp after that and it’s playing nicely.

ive had the same thing happen to me a long time ago and I did the above and haven’t changed it again since.

you can’t use reall boot camp but there is a modded version you can use.

i can’t remember the name of it but I have it written down somewhere in my hack.

il find it when I’m back infront of it and let you know.

bit pointless though tbh when you have a bootpicker but hey hoe il let you know.

Installed bootcamp on windows with brigadier app, it works now like on real mac, only boot monitor jumping is left to fix

great thread and information, my system is working great, specs attached

Anyone had any luck getting GPU temperatures working? CPU is fine tried old raedonmonitor kext for GPU, but no love

GPU is an ASUS Radeon RX 5700 TUF Gaming X3 OC 8GB Video Card

I've searched and looks like as its a newish card not supposed yet, I'm running VirtualSMC

Everything else is running fine

thanx!

Installed real BootCamp software on Windows without any issues(Downloaded latest version via BootCamp Assistant -> Action -> Download Windows Support Software in MacOS and then install it as usual in Windows). Windows BootCamp control panel is available and I can reboot to MacOS os from Windows. Using OC bootloader

bootcamp is useless. Congrats on adding a metric tonne of cruft to your rig. Nicely done!

control panel has been broken since maybe even W7. Apple says to use their boot loader to manage this. Or macOS directly. Both of which can be done natively by macOS and OC.

the only drivers you need are for the Fenvi. And they provide them on the web. Same exact drivers Apple uses in BCS. If there’s one way to get Windows running like {censored} it’s fooking around with drivers.

oh. But you get a snazzy system tray (useless because you can’t reboot to macOS directly from it anymore). And you do get the macOS prompts when changing things on your Apple keyboard. You do have one right? Oh wait, Windows has their own. Dang.

For everyone else. Don’t do what this guy did if you value performance and stability. Oof.

Hello!

First I just wanted to thank you for all the work you put into getting people's systems running. I've learned a fair amount from just combing through this thread.

I have an Aorus Pro z390 with a 9600k i5 and MSI 5500xt 8gb MECH. I initially started hoping to use the uhd 630 from the processor, but eventually caved and bought the 5500xt, which worked immediately out of the box.  I managed to make my own working EFI, but it's not properly optimized for my system (no audio, no USB Ports).

When I try using your EFI and BIOS Unlock settings, I can not get past the first half of the startup bar. I'm almost certain I'm doing something wrong and it's an easy fix that I missed, but I'm out of ideas myself haha. In verbose logging, it flies through the first few lines and stops very quickly, hopefully the issue can be diagnosed from the pictures I took and attached. It stops as soon as it posts "PR" on the last line. I will also attach the EFI I am trying to use. Let me know if I can provide any more details.

Thanks again, guys!

thats not true, I can reboot to mac os from a tray just the way it is on my real iMac (one click + confirm).

@AudioGod, can you play amazon prime trailers in Chrome, for me, it is working in safarin, but not in chrome for some reason?

@n19htz @AlexeyNikitin Don't mind him he is just being rude and know-it-all again. Bootcamp Control Panel works really nice I also use it to boot into MacOS whenever I want. Also use MacOS's startup disk to boot to windows. OpenCore is super awesome on this one, no need to have visible boot pickers, just like the real deal.

Hi,

Nope my EFI will only work if modified to account for igpu only. You will need to have one custom done for you by me if you want to use my files.

Hi AudioGod!

After a long struggle, I have finally managed to get my system going on the UHD 630 iGPU. Please see the attached clover folder. The settings base on your files (apart from the graphics settings).

Ethernet, graphics and audio work fine, but sleep does not. The hackingtosch does not wake from sleep. Does not react to power button or USB keyboard keystrokes. I have replaced USBinjectAll with USBMap and custom SSDT but to no avail.

If you could help me to get sleep/wake to work that would be great. Other suggestions pertaining to my config are welcome. I am sure it is suboptimal.

Best!

Ive not had a look at your EFI as I’m not in front of my hack but you should of just asked me buddy as I could of helped from the start.

Clover Z390 Pro IGPU Only EFI.zip

Update with your own details and if you don’t have a gpu installed like a Nvidia card etc then remove the boot argument -wegnoegpu

you don’t need to do anything else or add any other drivers or kexts, just add your details and remove the argument if not needed, drop into your EFI partition of a USB Install drive and try it out.

Edited by AudioGod

Thanks a bundle! I will try now and let you know.

Okay I conclude; I have no **** idea what is going on.

I have this setup:

drive 1 osx (booting ok)

drive 2 exact clone (booting ok)

usb stick with installer (for testing)

I used your efi on the usb removed wegnoegpu and it wouldn't boot (got stuck at the very end of the loading stick). Then I put it on one of my drives, removed wegnoegpu, enabled verbose.

System boots, but the screen goes black ( no hdmi ) like before.

The strange thing is; this now also happens when I boot from the other ssd !

I am locked out...

I don't understand how this can be. I haven't touched it. Are some settings getting transfered via NVRAM?

Hi Audiogod! I started out with your EFI and tried to alter as little as possible.

To get a display from uhd 630 (9600k) over hdmi, I had to change the framebuffer definition in device properties AND change mac description to iMac19,1.

But then I had no working USB ports.

In the end I used a kext and ssdt found online matching my z390 wifi pro.

USB works, but I still have no sleep / wake.

Please advice. My efi folder is attached.

There is no usb kext in my Efi, usb is done via my ssdt and dsdt so your adding something that’s already there

also are you using a Corsair aio?

sleep won’t work if you are and have the aio internal usb connected.

lastly 19,1 is incorrect for igpu only.

I used your ssdt and dsdt initially, but then had no usb at all. Maybe there was some conflicting setting. I will try again.

Is the ssdt and dsdt fully compatible with the aorus z390 WIFI pro ?

Corsair: no aio.

Now the interesting part; its not the mac model, but some other smbios setting. If I miss that setting, I get no HDMI output. I still don't know which one it is... I guess it must be something that tells osx whether there is a hdmi output present or not.

Hello AudioGod,

What I know for sure right now is:

1. I have to change the board ID in you config to get hdmi output from the 630.

I had to change it to: Mac-AA95B1DDAB278B95

I guess this is the setting that tells osx that there is hdmi output on board. The MB only has hdmi out.

2. I also get a display with your device settings even though the values are different from the ones I used before.

The config is now almost identical to what you have provided. Apart from the Board ID, the only difference is the boot args, the serial number and the smUUID.

One remaining problem is that with your config I have no USB at all. Can you perhaps suggest an alternative method for injecting USB properly? I hope that the way USB is injected should have no influence on sleep working?

3. The USB problem is definitely related to your dsdt. I also get no USB mapping when I use the DSDT from Clover Z390 Pro Polaris 19,1 EFI 060420. When I remove the dsdt and just use an USBMap.kext I have working USB.

4. When I wake it from sleep, I can bring back the display by manually turning the screen off and back on. It does not come back on automatically like it should. So the problem is presumably not in sleep / wake, but in making sure the display gets turned back on automatically when coming back from sleep.

5. When I press sleep, the display turns off. The fans keep spinning. After a minute or so there is a click sound and then the fans stop. When I click with the mouse, it comes back up again. It reboots however, instead of just waking up.

6. I can normally wake it up over a VNC connection. When VNC is active, the pc will not shut down when sleeping. The fans will keep spinning.

So it seems I will have to fix two problems:

- Bring the display back automatically upon waking up.

- Make sure the system wakes instead of reboots after it goes in full sleep.

Your help would be greatly appreciated!

PS I have not unlocked CFG as the file inside F12c Unlock.zip is not showing up in Q-Flash of my aorus wifi pro. Can you please provide this file again, so I can unlock CFG?

My build based on the AORUS Z390 PRO, has been running pretty great with all the apps I use. I want to thank everyone that has put so much hard work. It really works like a regular Mac.

I have a regular i7-8700 and am thinking of swapping it with an i9-9900k. If I replace my CPU and remove the battery to clear the board just in case and reboot and reload the CFG profile, will everything still work the same? Or do I have to make some changes to the EFI for the new CPU? Thanks in advance.

You need to format a usb drive MS-DOS(FAT) then drag or copy the file to the usb drive then use it in the BiOS as per AG's instructions

I formatted the USB with MS-DOS FAT and MBR scheme. I copied to file to the USB. It does not show up in the bios flash utility. When I enter the file name manually it says 'invalid BIOS image'. What am I doing wrong?

When I save my bios to the usb, it shows up. I noticed that it is 16 mB in size, while the f12c unlock bios profile is just 9KB. Is it really a proper bios image?

your not meant to load a bios profile via QFlash :hysterical:

Its a profile so You load it into the bios profile section.

please take a moment to read though the little notes included with the profile on page one as it has a step by step guide on how to do it.

My bad. Loaded the profile successfully. Will report back in a while.

The system boots and gets to login screen, but there is no USB mapping. I cannot connect by VNC either.

My current CLOVER folder is attached.

If there is a way to retrieve the boot log via clover, please let me know and I will attach it.

Please advice. It's so frustrating to own a compatible MB (Aorus z390 pro WIFI) and not being able to make it work well for over 5 days now.
