geekiegeek
Great guide, used this along with Glasgoods guide and have a working system with an RX580 and i7 9700K. One question I have is that I've ordered a 5700 XT and was wondering what's involved in upgrading from the RX580? Is it just a case of swapping the DSDT file? I'm new to Hackintosh so please treat me as a complete N00B. This is not actually a bug, it is just that Macs do not natively support the CEC protocol for controlling devices connected via DisplayPort / HDMI etc 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/339980-audiogods-aorus-z390-pro-patched-dsdt-mini-guide-and-discussion/page/49/#findComment-2704228 Share on other sites

So it does not use CEC protocol. (the volume set on the monitor is always set to a fixed volume in my case) When using the "MonitorControl" Tool it in fact uses the CEC protocol, as i see the volume change of the monitor with the GUI. (so i change the volume on the monitor directly) So i wonder why MacOS is not able to adjust the output volume like Windows. So many years working with my Mac Pro using the buttons in my monitor and never hear about that! Also check out https://github.com/fnesveda/ExternalDisplayBrightness if you have an AppleKeyboard. It works OOB and binds the brightness to the proper keys (F1 and F2). It doesn't handle the volume either for those that have external speakers. No menu bar icon either. It's also a lot snappier. 18 hours ago, AudioGod said: here you go buddy, it’s got wizemans name on it but its the new EFI for him to test.
