This is Friday afternoon here in southern California, so I have plenty of time to test at night after I finish all of my work. Test 1: Replaced Glasgood's EFI with Mald0n New EFI, Replace Framebuffer name. @glasgood This turns my 56 into 64 for some reasons... Lots and lots of graphic corruption during booting (screen tearing, rainbow lines, yes double rainbows during verbose boot looks super fun), but so far it's still running fine after logging in. Fans appears to be spinning a lot during testing. Temperature within range 66*C max, voltage is within max range of 1250mv too high for my weak vega56 board. @AudioGod trying beating this score buddy. I've just had a 30k score jump from 151k to 180k. Will get back with more information Update to graphic card test after several restarts, the score stablized at 184k: @glasgood There are a bunch of Glasgood devices in my PCI hahahha. and I need to remove your 960 Pro PCI too... @larabee Have That!!!!!!! And that's with it not listing as Kamarang under pci info. AudioGod
Ok, I got it going correctly now and like @larabee My card is showing as a Vega 64 using Kamarang and scoring around 185000. Im not getting any artifacting or strange behaviour with the vega56 running as a 64 though but I would prefer to have it as it should be. Is there not a way to use Kamarang and have it running as a Vega 56 cos it must be pumping to much voltage though the GPUs to be doing this {censored}e? @larabee Same for me with waking from sleep. Power button only now. I tried again this time with IMacPro1,1 SMBIOS, Acre framebuffer, and disabling onboard graphics and it worked. Like others, I have to hit the power button to wake from sleep, even after using darkwake=0 on boot args. I then put my Nvidia GPU for windows back in PCI slot 2, but that seems to totally break wake from sleep (previously I had this disabled with an SSDT). Benchmarks for me aren't much different between IMac19,1 and iMacPro1,1 with or without framebuffer, but my ATI card is pretty low end. gino8080
Love you guys!! first of all BIIG thanks to @glasgood for the GREAT guide!! Following all the steps, and mainly thanks to BIOS screenshots I finally was able to boot into installation and install Mojave!! I've used the Aorus Pro Z390 EFI - Vega-56.zip for the usb boot, and worked perfectly for the installation! Now I'm on mojave finally, BUT still booting from usb for now: WHAT WORKS FOR NOW Audio Works using ("csub" rear port input, the "H" port in the usb scheme in the guide) Lan is recognized (but i didn't tried yet, but I'm confident should work , because it's recognized also in network interfaces) Only the USB 2 ports are working (the 4 rear ports and 2 front) Bluetooth dongle iogear GBU521W6 (on the 1 of the usb2 front ports) Shutdown and Reboot Sleep seems working also (I can awake it using keyboard spacebar) WHAT DON'T WORKS (for now I hope:)) My already owned TP-Link TL-WDN4800 PCI (that worked great on Sierra) don't seems to be recognized (can I fix it ? or is better to buy the suggested ABWB BCM943602CS 802.11AC WI-FI With Bluetooth 4.0 ?) and it that case will work also the bluetooth? None of the USB 3 ports seems to works (the usb pen light does not light up, and not showing on system) attached system report: The QUESTION NOW ARE: Now I'm on Post Installation, And I'm pretty confused, WHICH POST INSTALLATION zip should I use now to boot directly from disk without USB ? Should I just copy everything from working usb EFI or not? And what to do to fix my problems? (usb3 and wifi ?) THANK YOU VERY MUCH to All Edited August 3, 2019 by gino8080 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/337837-glasgoods-macos-mojave-successguide-for-aorus-z390-pro/page/47/#findComment-2684168 Share on other sites

Hello To boot from drive: 1 - Install Clover into Macintosh Drive 2 - Then copy and paste Aorus Pro Z390 EFI ( one EFI folder now for pre & post installation ) into the EFI partition 3 - USB 3.0 should be working ( you do have Aorus Pro Z390 ? ) 4 - To keep within the 15 port limit, only two USB2 are enabled on front of case and USB2.0 hub on motherboard for mouse & keyboards etc. 5 - Sorry best to go with recommended WiFi card, cant really help with your WiFi card. Best! gino8080
Thank you @glasgood! So Now I'm booting without usb! Yeah I have a Z390 Aorus pro (sorry just update my build signature) I will buy the suggested WIFI card so! So this are my "problems" GPU Now my GFX Fan are always spinning at max speed During Sleep they stops, and when awake with POWER button, after login, they start spinning like hell When I boot with the usb created using Aorus Pro Z390 EFI - Vega-56.zip this does not happens (maybe i can take some configuration or kext from there?) GPU "should" working good, But I'm not sure, because Cinebench does NOT shot GPU in the benchmark, but only CPU, insted LUX seems normal. What I can try to verify that GPU is working at full speed? USB 3 Only the 4 top usb and 2 front are working (this is my sys info, maybe I needed to connect something when mounting mobo? ) AUDIO Audio now works using Internal Speaker device, and using the LINE OUT port (the "L" port in the usb port conf Image) it is normal? But when I switched the audio jack, tI got a black screen, and I was forced to manually reboot ) Thank you for your time!! glasgood
@gino8080 Are you using BIOS version F10 ? just tested out sound and sound ports and all is good on my hack. Change your frame buffer to Iriri or remove it ( if not sure how to do this then send me your EFI ). You can also try booting into windows and changing fan speed of your GPU using vendor .software. gino8080
Ok so this are the 2 EFI, also attached as ZIP USB EFI (on the left) SHould be identical to your Aorus Pro Z390 EFI - Vega-56.zip used for first boot and Mojave installation (this has the SSD-Vega-56, maybe this is needed for the always on fans?) HD EFI (on the right) Should be identical to your Aorus Pro Z390 EFI And its the EFI isntalled in the HD of the installed Mojave In both cases no USB 3 port of the rear panel is working (also the usb c) I just installed an external Usb 3 Panel connected to usb3 mobo port, and they are working, but NOT the "natives" USB EFI.zip HD EFI.zip Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/337837-glasgoods-macos-mojave-successguide-for-aorus-z390-pro/page/47/#findComment-2684196 Share on other sites

In your installation video there is a time of 20+ minutes for the installation shown. But at my installation it shows from the beginning 3min and then it just goes black half way. I dont know if this is normal. And how am I supposed to continue if this is normal? Because I already tried to boot into the ssd with clover, but it just shows that there was an error with the installation and that i should repeat the process. :/ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/337837-glasgoods-macos-mojave-successguide-for-aorus-z390-pro/page/47/#findComment-2684197 Share on other sites
