I forgot to mention that:

It can only be applied to an installed version not applicable to a usb installer. Use eg. Pacifist.app to expand / install the data from the installer app to a free partition. Then you can apply the app.

Short description: how to install macOS Sierra on a free Partition using Yosemite or El Capitan with Pacifist.app

(a simple way to install macOS on a free Partition!)

Open the macOS Sierra install.app/Contents/SharedSupport/InstallESD.dmg

Now push the InstallESD.dmg file into the Pacifist window (package will be open)

A popup window of pacifist will be displayed, then click the button "Continue" now the archive contents will be loaded, which can take a while.

then click next on the tab "File" ==> "Extract files to another location" here choose your free partition on which you want to install or extract all macOS files. This process will take a long time. After successfully installing of macOS you should install a

suitable bootloader (Enoch-rev.2848  or Clover Efi bootloader

Finally, you just have to install the appropriate drivers or make modifications, then macOS Sierra will start.

Hello guys!
So my problem is that I installed 10.12.3 with Spakk's latest kernel, and everything went fine except that I can't use the system becouse after  awhile it randomly freezes. Sometimes even the screen goes black. I tried to disable every power management settings like disabling hard drives, putting computer to sleep etc.

I had the same issue with 10.12 too a week ago but I tought that it was a problem with Sierra itself. That's why I reinstalled and went to 10.12.3.

I have Yosemite right now, that is working fine without this problem.
My spec: Fx 6300, 8 GB DDR3 ram 1600Mhz, Amd R9 270x 2 Gb.

Check by starting El Capitan and then selecting the Sierra partition to User/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/  ...  or  /Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/
then check the crash reports, possibly you can localize the cause of your problem?

Will try to do that but with Yosemite. Actually I never got El Capitan working, didn't really tryed tho.

I can also check that in Sierra, becouse sometimes it works. Sometimes I can use it for 30+ minutes without any porblem, and sometimes just for only a few minutes..

EDIT:

It seems that those folders are empty

If Sierra boots then check your system with Etrecheck.app, look a few pages back, since you will find the download-link

I can not find anything there .... look at the last crash report, possibly you can then localize the cause of the problem

Edit:

This can have different causes. ... Maybe a problems with a defective memory bars, this can be caused a panic message with freezing of the system, or sometimes the system turns off ... a crash report gives more information to the problem.

Okay, I am now checking reports in console app. Now it is running for more than 3 hours now without crash. I know it can't fix itself tho..  Can it be because of a faulty hard drive on my pc? I have a hard disk that has bad sectors, but of course it is not my main drive. Altho I use it for torrent downloads. But exiting from uTorrent app won't fix the problem.

Ok, so the system crashed somewhere at 17:05:xx

https://gyazo.com/971a667b2d133fb0c31ef18715965c1e

Can this be due to Safari? Now I am trying Crome... Or maybe it something with my GPU? As it says Media.

Hey Spakk,

System only reads/detects the dedicated GPU. also, the sysinfo won't detect the wifi. But wireless card installed on the system is a Atheros QCA9377.

I tried looking for driver but to no avail.

It is advisable to install/change a wireless half-mini wifi card, see README.md of Toleda, here are some Wifi cards listed and also the appropriate driver

For your AMD graphics card write the question in the thread for graphics cards

list of AMD Dev-ID/Vendor-ID (MD Radeon R7 Graphics card, Device-id 9874 Vendor-id 00C9 ) : http://developer.amd.com/resources/ati-catalyst-pc-vendor-id-1002-li/

No idea, if your graphics card can work with graphics acceleration using dsdt or driver patch. You have to ask for or research and/or try it out for yourself.

Thanks for the info spakk,

For the wifi, it doesn't bug me. I found a work around. At home I use Ethernet and when I'm out side I use an external wifi that is compatible. Just glad I got my USB 3.0 to work. Also, I've was looking oh how to edit the kext before with the link you provided but I still need to learn and use clover, at the moment I'm not running EFI. I do have the updated version of clover app on my system, I have not yet uploaded the boot loader for EFI. I need to learn a little more before making those changes.

Hi,

Can somebody help me please? I have got green lines instead of few buttons. I don't know if it si problem of kernel or my GPU. I have no idea how to solve this problem. You can see it in the PICTURE

According to my experience it's due to AMD RX 470 GPU not enable its QE/CI functions properly .

You need edit its related kexts info.plist or apply patches.

Hello to everyone,

can anyone tell me what kernel file and extra folder should i use for my configuration,

AMD Athlon X4 645 3.10 AM3,

ASUS EAH ATI HD 5670 DDR3 1024MB

Thank you :D

Sierra is currently not working with your CPU, because of missing sse4 instructions, but El Capitan will work.

  • 2 weeks later...

I am trying to get into the Sierra installation but I have a few problems. I am using the Sierra USB Fix from someone who people call Shaneee  :hysterical: http://amd-osx.com/files/Shaneee_Sierra_USB_Fix.zip and the kext from Bronya (he did a nice job, I have to say in my personal opinion). The problem is that I get a kernel panic after VM, I think the problem is in IOUSBMassStorageClass.kext. Using the other ones is not a problem, he gives me the Still waiting for root device looping.

I think I need some help and I am new in these lands...     :P  :P  :P

Sorry, my computer in a PC with three partitions. AsRock Fatal1ty 990FX Killer with USB 3.0 and 2.0, my CPU is Phenom II X4. I also have an Amiga 1200 which I build a long time ago, but I love fruits... hehehe

I also have an Amiga 1200 which I build a long time ago, but I love fruits... hehehe

"waiting for root device...." check the BIOS settings for example activate AHCI

....but it is better to upload the picture of the kernel panic

...What a kext of bronya do you mean?

Edit:

This with the USB Fix package, is only a makeshift, no 100% solution!
Alternatively you can test this package  ( http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/files/file/521-usb-fix-for-el-capitan/) , read the information before inserting the drivers
