After going throught the steps to set up the AppleI386PCI.kext and the NVidia.kext, when I look at system profiler, I find that my video card is listed correctly and the bus is noted as AGP. But, when I boot with platform=ACPI, system profiler says the video kext is not loaded. When I boot with platform=X86PC, system profiler doesn't complain about the video kext not being loaded. Either way, the kext appears to be loaded according to kextstat. Machine is a Dell laptop with an FX 5200 Go card. clarkbigpie Posted October 21, 2005 Share Posted October 21, 2005 I was able to get this to work with my GeForce FX5200, but the AGP kext mentioned in a link earlier made my system freeze on boot up. I had to boot in safe mode and put the original kext back. roxtaz Posted December 6, 2005 Share Posted December 6, 2005 (edited) how did you do that?? i have a same card with the sameDevID, and ive modified plist ,but it never work I followed some usefull tutorial around: First one with CPU to AGP Bridge (AppleI386PCI.kext) and second one from the download section on macvidia site ! It's easy! Just follow the steps and do a lot of search in forum. Good Luck! BTW It's working only in 10.1! I have the alpha driver but not sure how to install it. I have been troubleshooting this for 4 hours and have tried to find the answer before posting. Can someone advise me how to install this driver.
