Apple Freak
After reading "Overclocking HP PCs", I have an idea about geting the source of ClockGen, and it will automaticaly overclock your PC! Sounds good but once it's on your PC, it will overclock to the maximum so that your PC will eventuely EXPLODE! It might be possible...
bwhsh8r
ahaha, but you see there is a virus circulating that wipes the bios witch would be about the same for the intent, as that would totially hose your mobo you could do something like that, but that is more universal as dif mobos oc dif and dif cpus oc dif max

bwhsh8r
I know it's kinda funny, if it has to capable for all PCs, if will be a HUGE virus yea, but also, i didnt think of it, but ud have to make a self installing unibin, but i use bsd so idc, but if u targeted windows with teh .exe (im still a win user) and all its sec holes, then youd hit 90 + % of pcs? cuase very few people secure windows, cause they dont know how... ... begens dev.... max

rick taylor
Windows users are people too you know. If, as your flashy banner suggests, you are a C++ Developer maybe you should put your "mad skillz" to some good use, rather than making life tough for the rest of us. Dragon
writing a virus is just childish... what is the point? you are giving mac users a bad name apple freak.

hanschien
If i remember correctly, the purpose of a virus is to continuously infect other computers. It's not practical to have a dead "host".

Naw, you can make one that hosts it, people unwittingly dll it, and run it, so it wouldnt be nuking the host, but nuking all the infected computers that it touches... i have hard drive killer pro on my harddrive, but it doesnt kill it unless it somehow gets run, or runs itsself (i keep it there for auditing time ) max

U.C.
Wasnt there a virus which ruined your FDD. Bu this OCing thing would work perfect with nVidia/ATI cards, coz they are meant to be OC'ed. SO I guess running a 6600 at 1GHZ with stock, would surely make it screw up. But then Light Dawns on me, and I realize about thermal shutdown systems

RapidEyE
Hmmm, not too clever for a C++ programmer. Maybe you should take a basic course on pc architecture? Any reasonable engineer/technician/programmer wouldnt embarass themselves by posting such trash. If you had ever stopped to think that most modern pc motherbaords, will not P.O.S.T with a servere overclock, new safety features to help overclockers from destroying systems. You could fry one eeprom, but it can be replaced. Maybe Dell and Compaq systems could be attacked (in 1998, haha) But their level of engineering expertise far outwieghs yours, The newest boards have BIOS backups on 2 eeprom's and hard disk partitions, built in virus write protect/overide, all are manefacturer specific. This post wouldnt have been out of place in 1998, but cmon, get with it...its 2006! At the end of the day, if you were able to write and exploit such a virus, every manefacturer combined would have it sorted within an hour. And you would be famous, maybe........NOT So give yourself a break, Mr Mitnick ;-) I agree with Bofors, this IS the stoopidest ive EVER seen
mac fly
I think the developer community should begin to work together on open-source viruses. Let's try to make the perfect virus. The one that can't be defeated. We'll call it virux.
kseelbo
Why don't you really impress all of us and write a virus that detects and destroys the computers of {censored}s who write viruses? Then I we wouldn't get 10,000 emails from our windoze using friends whose address book has been exploited and starts spamming the hell out of everyone, making the net run at a snail's pace. Better yet, write a virus that detects viruses and neutralizes them before they hit the net.
