I am failing miserably in installing the boot loader. I have read the documentation provided ( i aint lazy ) but i simply just don't know how to do it.

Follow the normal procedure for installing Chameleon manually. Like this for example, if your drive has GUID partition table:

http://forum.voodooprojects.org/index.php?topic=649.0

For an MBR drive, find another guide. There are several guides floating around.

If you want help with specific steps, try to be more specific in the description of the problem you're having.

Ok so i have been doing a little more research about how to manually install chameleon i think i get it now so basically the steps are:

Open terminal and type diskutil list, my instalation is on devdisk0

1.-Extract the bootloader folder to your desktop.

2.-Open Terminal and type sudo -s

3.- type cd and then copy your extracted folder to terminal. now terminal is in your bootloader folder.

4.- Follow this steps according to my results on diskutil list (aplying it to the EFI ) and do the following:

27 Normal Install (non-RAID):

28 --------------------------

29

30 Suppose that your installation is on /dev/disk0s2

31

32 - Install boot0 to the MBR:

33 sudo ./fdisk440 -f boot0 -u -y /dev/rdisk0

34

35 - Install boot1h to the partition's bootsector:

36 sudo dd if=boot1h of=/dev/rdisk0s2

37

38 - Install boot to the partition's root directory:

39 sudo cp boot /

Do i make any sense at all ?? Am i missing something important??

Thanks for your help

I really appreciate it.

If the GTX 460M (laptop) is actually a GF106 chip- unlike the GTX 460 (desktop) which is a GF104 chip- am I actually looking for a driver for the GTS 450 (desktop) if I have the GTX 460M in my laptop?

Either way it isn't going to work but I'd like to be careful for what I wish... :)

Is there a way that GTS 450 is going to be supported? I am looking at a low profile card which gts450 seems to be the only choice (the 400 series).

I think if you add the GTS 450 device id to the kexts, in theory it should work. I don't know the device id of the GTS 450 as it is relatively new, but it's worth a shot to experiment. However, if the chipset for the GTS 450 is different than the GTX 460 and above, it may not work.

please.... can somebody add the fermi drivers into this bootcd > http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...st&id=73445

i can;t do it myself currently.

and i;m in a hurry.... someone here can do it in a notch. i;m sure of it...

so pretty please :)

I think the latest ##### supported with the 10.6.4 kernel has support for Fermi. I used this boot disc to install Snow Leopard 10.6.0 retail with my Fermi card and it worked well. Just be sure to install the kexts and boot loader to the hard drive once you've finished installing Snow Leopard.

Not sure if I can do the PhysX thing. I bought the 9500GT that doesn't have SLI on it... DOH..

Been doing some reading and it looks as though the 2 cards have to be in SLI to have the PhysX dedicated one.. I could be wrong.. I can't find basic info like that where I have been looking.

More reading ahead of me...

Note to self - read the box before buying peripherals.. :)

Sith

I can verify that you can set the 9500GT to dedicated PhysX, but there's actually a performance degrade while playing games in Windows as the GTX 470 is much more powerful than the 9500GT and can handle PhysX better. The cards do not have to be in SLI to do PhysX. However, if you have two GTX 470, they need to be in SLI if you want to both cards as a single unit, rather than separate cards.

I'm not quite sure which motherboard you have so I am unfamiliar with the marsboot132 method. What chipset does your motherboard have? I know that ##### works with most P55 and most of the newer X58 chipset motherboards. I've got a P55 chipset MSI motherboard which works well with Mac. It sounds like the problem you're describing is related to your SATA hard drives not being detected. Have you tried both ##### and ##### Supported? Maybe check their wiki to see if your motherboard is listed.

a little help...how do i get the my dell 2405fpw to show up in the list of Displays along with the correct resolution of 1920x1200? I tried editing /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist to include <key>Graphics Mode</key><string>1920x1200x32</string> but that didn't work.

btw, i assume my fermi installation is correct?

Hi Douirc.

I had a simular problem, and I believe your problem could be one of the following (or both) :

1. Install the "Snow Leopard Graphics Update"

2. Make sure that you installed the custom Chameleon bootloader, as described in the first post of this subject.

Hope this helped..... ;)

thanks for the help. I ran Kext Helper b7 (installed from ##### 2.3.0), dragged all the files from the Kext directory of the fermi package into the app, ran it and rebooted and now it works just fine. I must not have installed the kext correctly by hand the first time. also, i ran the graphics update after my complete installation of 10.6.4 and fermi package, so not sure if that had any affect or not, but either way, everything is working like it should. thanks again!

Hello to all members of this forum, my name is Kanos and I am a new member on this forum.

I and many months of use Hazard with a video card Geforce GTS 250 DDR3 1G and everything works perfect Snow leopard.

A few days ago or bought a new video card Geforce GTS 450, and / or find any problem to run Snow Leopard hazard, I'll explain:

O and / or formatted did a fresh install, or selected as the video card and Enabler Graphic NVEnabler well, the installation went very well and

How to boot Snow Leopard crashes before you see the initial welcome screen.

Then, or tried to remove the line from com.apple.Boot Graphic Enabler and the game start screen and WELCOME, but then crashed before the appearance of the desktoop.

Finally, I ask you a help to solve this problem with the Geforce GTS 450 so I can re-use Snow Leopard

Chameleon bootloader and use PCEFI 10.5 RC3

Su (GET INFORMATION ON THIS MAC) IDs are:

1 - Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de)

2 - Device ID: 0x0dc4

3 - Revision ID: 0x00a1

Hi guys,

i have similar question like ludox.

Im planing to build new hackintosh, and GTS 450 seems to be in a sweet spot of price/performance.

Did anyone got this card running on snow leopard 10,6,4 ? or should I look for other cards ?

thx.

----------------------------- FISHINROCKS95 metod ---------------------------

1. install SL and update to 10.6.4 but dont reboot to install the update.

2. Download the fermi package posted by CMF on page one.

3. install the kexts in the package with KextHelper B7(I use kext Utility) and then copy the frameworks provided to System/library/frameworks

4. Install the Myhack 1.1.4 bootloader and before starting the install, hit customize and under extra, check the graphics enabler box.

5. reboot ignoring caches

In Terminal = "sudo rm -Rf /System/Library/Caches/com.apple.kext.caches"

Myhack installer -- http://www.mediafire.com/?gk941po72op3ex9

Here is my attempt, thanks to fishinrocks95

Screen_shot_2010-08-23_at_14_27_15.jpg

GA-X58A-UD3R Rev 2.0 FB, 930, GTX 480

Followed word for word and it WORKED LIKE A CHAMP!! Easiest install I've been through yet! Thank you! Used #####-NVIDIA-4xx-1.iso (http://www.tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=3853)

My cinebench scores:

myhackscores.png

My cpu score went up from 6.58 in W7 to 6.63 in Mac OS X. My W7 OpenGL score was 49.59 fps, compared to 31.69 fps in Mac, but knowing these aren't official drivers, I guess I can't complain. Can anyone else post their cinebench gtx 480 opengl scores? I'd like to see a comparison.

My only problem is getting ALC889 audio working. Used to install fine with ##### 2.3.0 but doesn't work any more. I'm sure I'll find a fix, I'm just psyched that the performance is "normal".
