There is no dual core in the Core Solo... and if someone told you that they are wrong. They are similar in design, but there is no "wasted second core" in there. If you bought a Core Solo, that's what you got. Now there were reports of some minis not registering VT-x, but I think Apple fixed it with an update. (Remember, they need VT-x for 10.5) EDIT: Oh, and per your signature; The System prefs won't show a processor control panel until you install the Developer Tools package for it. A Core Solo is basicly a defective Core Duo in which one of the Cores didn't work. Now there were reports of some minis not registering VT-x, but I think Apple fixed it with an update. (Remember, they need VT-x for 10.5) How do you know that 10.5 needs VT -x? If that is true, there are going to be a lot of Hackintoshes that won't work with it.
