I'm running Snow leo 10A432. Thanks EDIT: Delete one of these threads it double posted it for some reason :S method 1: 9500 GT is working under 10.6 via GraphicsEnabler key in the com.apple.boot.plist method 2: 9500 GT is working under 10.6 via EFI String key in the com.apple.boot.plist
StealthRT
method 1: 9500 GT is working under 10.6 via GraphicsEnabler key in the com.apple.boot.plist method 2: 9500 GT is working under 10.6 via EFI String key in the com.apple.boot.plist Sadly, i am unable to get my Zotac 9500GT 1GB to work! - I used nvflash to save the ROM file from my graphics card under dos. - Then i used NVCAP MAKER to call up that ROM and get the NVCAP string. The NVCAP for my card is: 04000000000003000c0000000000000700000000 Then using osx86tools: - click on the button "add efi string" - click on gfx string - choose custom geforce (you need to scroll the list is the last one) - enter your video card name: nVidia GeForce 9500 GT - 1024MB (1GB) memory size - NOW choosing your display configuration, choose custom - enter 04000000000003000c0000000000000700000000 for my NVCAP - import string to boot editor - apply changes to com.apple.boot.plist - Rebooted And nothing happens. It's still the same. Nothing in the system stats that names my card or anything. It still have 32MB for the ram for the card and i only have 1024x768 to choose from in in the system prefs. Any help would be great so i can solve this last thing! David

StealthRT
Ok, i saw how you had EFI string in your sig that you used so i used version 1.1 and chose the 9800 GT, wrote to the com.apple.boot.plist file and rebooted.... same thing. Here is what it wrote in the com.apple.boot.plist file: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>Kernel</key> <string>mach_kernel</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string></string> <key>device-properties</key> <string>d10300000100000001000000c50300001500000002010c00d041030a00000000010106000001 0101060000007fff04003a000000400032002c0068007700730065006e0073006f0072002d0070006 100720061006d0073002d00760065007200730069006f006e00000008000000000000022200000040 0032002c006400650076006900630065005f0074007900700065000000120000004e5644412c67707 52d64696f64650e0000004e00560050004d0000002000000001000000000000000000000000000000 0000000000000000000000001e00000072006f006d002d007200650076006900730069006f006e000 000090000003331373261100000004e00560043004100500000001800000004000000000003000c00 0000000000070000000022000000400032002c002300730069007a0065002d00630065006c006c007 3000000080000000000000022000000400030002c006400650076006900630065005f007400790070 00650000000b000000646973706c6179100000006d006f00640065006c0000001e0000004e5649444 941204765466f72636520393830302047542045464914000000400030002c006e0061006d00650000 00120000004e5644412c446973706c61792d4120000000400032002c0063006f006d0070006100740 0690062006c0065000000160000004e5644412c73656e736f722d706172656e741400000040003100 2c006e0061006d0065000000120000004e5644412c446973706c61792d4212000000400032002c007 20065006700000008000000000000021c0000006400650076006900630065005f0074007900700065 000000100000004e5644412c4765466f72636520000000400031002c0063006f006d0070006100740 0690062006c00650000000e0000004e5644412c4e564d616326000000400032002c00230061006400 72006500730073002d00630065006c006c007300000008000000000000010e0000006e0061006d006 50000000f0000004e5644412c506172656e7422000000400031002c00640065007600690063006500 5f00740079007000650000000b000000646973706c617920000000400030002c0063006f006d00700 061007400690062006c00650000000e0000004e5644412c4e564d6163220000005600520041004d00 2c0074006f00740061006c00730069007a0065000000080000000000004036000000400032002c006 80077006300740072006c002d0070006100720061006d0073002d00760065007200730069006f006e 000000080000000000000214000000400032002c006e0061006d00650000001100000073656e736f7 22d706172656e74</string> </dict> </plist> It just doesnt seem to want to work for me For a side note, i have (2) com.apple.boot.plist files. One is in my MacOS/Extra folder and the other is in /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration directory. Just to make sure i copied what it had in the /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.boot.plist to the MacOS/Extra/com.apple.boot.plist file. Still the same thing though... nothing. I hope someone can figure out why its doing this! David
noodledog
Some things haven't been so straightforward with Snow, especially the graphics. I've got a 1gb 9800gt so I don't know if this will help but, I robbed some of my extras kexts from Snow Leopard BootCD, I think the KDtech one. The bootcd was the only bootloader that would give me full graphics. I have since combined them into a pack with kexts for my motherboard, so I couldn't begin to figure out which one it is.. But I recommend booting with BootCD for Snow Leopard and see if that works, then replace your extras kexts with the ones on the bootcd.

David Put the kext in your /Extra/Extensions folder. Run pfix (dl it here: http://osx86.sojugarden.com/category/myhack-utilities/). Reboot your computer. I'm running the 9500 GT flawlessly using NVInject kext (http://www.tehdork.com/stellarola/SNOWKEXT/NVinject.kext.zip). I'm using Empire EFI to install the Snow Leopard DVD. After it installs, i run the post-install program "myHack Installer (Install this first).mpkg" that's on the Empire EFI cd. That takes care of the shutdown/restart and CPU/ram stuff. Thats all i have done to get the hackintosh up and running. Everything runs well... but only runs in 1024x768 mode. Ill try the injector and get back to you. David
StealthRT
Well i decided to just format and install it again fresh... and for some reason, this time when i rebooted after installing myHack, everything is working without me doing anything with the NVCAP or anything.. Very odd... My com.apple.boot.plist looks plain and has no NVCAP number. Only the "GraphicsEnabler" = yes. Oh well. it works now Thanks for your help n1c3jack3t, CPT_MAC & noodledog David

Beerkex'd
Boot with -s, follow the on screen instructions to verify and mount the filesystem and you can work from there. You might also be able to boot in safe mode with -x (this would be the easiest way) Or boot from your install DVD with the required files on a USB stick, mount your system hard drive and the USB stick and work from there. Or.. use Mac Drive or Transmac on a Windows installation to access your OS X install..
toolbox1234
Thanks. I found out I do get video at the VGA port (no video on DVI and HDMI). Not sure if it has something to do with adding NVinject to /extra/extensions or not. My system profile show the same information as post #14 of this thread. Beerkex'd
The injected NVCAP value is wrong. Use NVEnabler instead of NVInject.
