1. Thank you very much for this perfect guide. I had instant success just follow your steps. I also did the online update 10.7.2 without running the installer again without any problem. The only not working is the Microphone. Not so important, but maybe someone can confirm having the same problem.
2. MSI Nvidia 210 (GT218) 0x0a23

since a few days i work on a vanilla snow installation and got stuck with graphic. Mainboard: Asus P5Q Pro BIOS 1613 Ver. 02.61 CPU: E8400 Graphic: MSI N210 MDIG 0x10de 0x0a23 Rev. 0x00a2 Bootloader my Hack 1.1 Installed 10.6.3, changed ID (0xa23) in NVDAN50Hal.kext and in NVDAResman.kext Graphic works fine with QE/CI Combo Update 10.6.6 / changed ID (0x0a23) in NVDAN50Hal.kext again. No QE/CI Installed NVEnabler64.kext with ID (0x0a23) in Extras black screen during boot I also tried Graphcenabler y and n in appleboot.plist, but no difference. I have the same graphic card running fine on a Gigabyte board running 10.6.6 without any modification. Maybe some one can point me into the right direction. Thx
3. @ MaLd0n Thank you very much!!!!!!!! Now I have the correct DSDT and Sleep / wake up works fine.
4. Hi, since Snow Leo automatic sleep never worked with that board, but with "force sleep" i found a good workaround in order to got sleep funktional. Now since I updated from 10.6.2 to 10.6.5 sleep mode does not work at all any more. The machine just shuts down complete. The same after a fresh installation with ##### and ##### and own DSDT.aml Every thing else seems to work. Extra: com.apple.Boot.plist / DSDT.aml / Extensions.mkext / smbios.plist / Themes / Extensions Extensions: ACPIMonitor.kext / ALC8xxHDA.kext / FakeSMC.kext / IntelThermal.kext / IOAHCIBlockStorageInjector.kext / NVEnabler 64.kext / SuperIOFamily.kext Has anyone sleep and wake up working on GA-EP35-DS3 Thx
Vielen Dank
6. I have a similar Problem with an Intel Imac. I have found out so far using a second machine and tick syncronisation and reinstall the disk. Than you are fine until you have to do a new installation. the best would be to add a string as a boot option or change something like the boot plist on the install DVD to reach the 2nd screen during boot. But I don't have the knowledge what has to be changed. Any help, thanks in advance.
7. @StealthRT I used the Geforce 9800GT EFi for the 9500GT. Every thing works great. One monitor direct via DVI, second monitor HDMI > DVI. 8. @ robinbouc You don't need a boot 132 disk and you also don't need a bootable usb stick. You need an real mac, or an hackantosh with snow as operating system. Than you hook up the hardisk, which you want to use later in your ion via USB to your real mac, or direct to your hackintosh. Now you install from your running computer snow to your new drive. With my dmg "snow" I got an error, so I had to burn first a disk. Maybe different with yours and you can mount and install. When installation has finished you can install chameleon, but be care full to install to the new disk and not to your running system. Than you copy all the files you need from post #1 to the new disk. Do all the setup in your ION BIOS, and start yourION with the new disk. Thats all

10. For sure dolby 5.1 pass thru is supported under OSX, at least using VLC or Boxee for play back on a real Mac and also on an Hackintosh. mpeg, img or the real disk with AC3 sound, all works. The standard DVD player in OSX might not support dolby, it's a long time I used that application, so I am not sure. I think the problem is, the digital pass thru does not pass the dolby sound to digital out. Maybe kext or DSDT has to be modified accordingly. To have no sound via HDMI output does not bother me at all. Just one more tiny cable to run.
11. update HDMI 1080 works fine Digital out coaxial works, but PCM 2 channel only !! Would be very nice to have dolby 5.1. But, I don't wand ask for too much tonight. I love this little machine now. I wonder if snow server will run with the same installation guide? I will try on one off the next days. I guess it will.
12. Thank you guys, this is more than brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!! First I had some difficulties, but this was my fault, not following the rules (steps) which in deed ended up in KP. First I downloaded a chamelon boot loader from a different place and the install failed. Downloaded the one you suggested installed perfectly. My next fault was, to test with 10.6.0 without updating and kernel exchange, so of course now I know got KP. Than I updated and swapped the kernel with the modified one, and voila it's working nicely. On thing, I had to assign a manual IP. Fully DHCP has given a self assigned wrong IP. For a desktop unit it's not a problem. After that I had to run the network diagnostic to connect to my ISP. Auto sleep and wake up works HDMI I will test next, also digital out. I am not sure does eugene k2 mean his guide under known issues, digital sound does not work, or digital sound via HDMI does not work. As long digital sound work, on many home theater receiver like my Yamaha RX-V2400 I can connect a HDMI cable, but feed the sound via coax or optical. One other possibility I can think of is to use a HDMI adapter, open this adapter and solder a little cable to it, which fits in coax output. I had recently to adjust a HDMI TO DVI Adapter mechanecly to fit to my graphic card and I was surprised how easy this little adapter fall apart and how old fashioned it was inside made with wirer. Thanks again for this wonderful guide!!!!!!!!!!
13. The NVIDIA 9500GT Thread

Maybe this works for you too. I have a Gainward 9500GT silent 1024 MB. 1 x VGA 1x DVI 1x HDMI I selected the EFI sting vor the 9800GT 1024 MB. VGA + DVI 2 Monitors fully working DVI + HADMI 1 Monitor + 1 Flatscreen TV working DVI + HDMI > DVI adapter 2 Monitors fully working all resolutions qe / ci
14. @ tmongol The only additional device I have is a logitec USB web cam. With leo 10.5.7 I had no sound assertions so far. In snow I feel I have to turn the volume more up to gains the same loundness as in 10.5.7. I think I still have not the correct LegacyHDA.kext, or the DSDT.aml is not fully correct. However, I use this computer most of the time as a office machine and for playing youtube or itunes from time to time sound is acceptable for me as it is now. Thank you very much for your help.
15. @ tmongkol Thank you very much for your advice. I have got sound now. I had choose the first option, fixing my DSDT.aml. Still I had some difficulties, I am not sure if the DSDTSE patcher have a bug, or it is just my inexperience. However I still have some small issues. I followed your guide fixing my DSDT. When it comes to "Pinconfiurations" in your Guide it says Buffer (0x01). In my DSDT it is Buffer (One). when I change the (One) into (0x01) the patcher does not accept and put (One) back in. I don't know if this makes any differce. I still have a lot of errors during boot, related to AppleHDA. Any how it works. The second option you showed me I have not tried. I tried once to boot without DSDT.aml and got Kernel panic. This are the errors I get: Nov 19 23:30:17 ROhack kernel[0]: Sound assertion "0 == entry" failed in "/SourceCache/AppleHDA/AppleHDA-179.1.4/AppleHDA/AppleHDAEngine.cpp" at line 3189 goto Exit Nov 19 23:30:18: --- last message repeated 3 times --- Nov 19 23:30:18 ROhack kernel[0]: Sound assertion "0 == entry" failed in "/SourceCache/AppleHDA/AppleHDA-179.1.4/AppleHDA/AppleHDAEngine.cpp" at line 3222 goto Exit Nov 19 23:30:18: --- last message repeated 15 times --- Nov 19 23:30:18 ROhack kernel[0]: Sound assertion "0 == entry" failed in "/SourceCache/AppleHDA/AppleHDA-179.1.4/AppleHDA/AppleHDAEngine.cpp" at line 3189 goto Exit Nov 19 23:30:26: --- last message repeated 2 times --- Nov 19 23:30:26 ROhack kernel[0]: Sound assertion "0 == entry" failed in "/SourceCache/AppleHDA/AppleHDA-179.1.4/AppleHDA/AppleHDAEngine.cpp" at line 3222 goto Exit Nov 19 23:31:31 ROhack kernel[0]: Sound assertion "0 == entry" failed in "/SourceCache/AppleHDA/AppleHDA-179.1.4/AppleHDA/AppleHDAEngine.cpp" at line 3222 goto Exit Attached my latest DSDT.aml and the LegacyHDA.kext I am using for now. Again, Thank you very much. dsdt.aml.zip LegacyHDA.kext.zip
