  1. I have a Gigabyte P55M UD2 with bios F10 and my basic goal is to have the sata drives connected to the intel 5 series chipset be seen as internal and drives connected to the Gigabyte SATA (GSATA) to be seen as external. The initial problem is that all the internal hard drives are recognized as external after updating to 10.6.4. I read that adding JMicron36xSATA or IOAHCIBlockStorage would solve the problem. 1)On adding only the jmicron kext all drives including the drives connected to the GSATA port are recognized as internal 2)Adding only IOAHCIBlockStorage just changes the icons(connection type is still external) and also the drives on the GSATA port are not recognized after adding this kext. 3)Without any of these the hot swap works for the drives in the GSATA ports but drives on the intel series 5 chipset are also seen as external.(want them to be internal!) My basic question is my goal "to have the sata drives connected to the intel 5 series chipset be seen as internal and drives connected to the Gigabyte SATA (GSATA) to be seen as external." My board does support hot swap so is it possible? Sorry if I messed up what I wrote but please, members here are the only ones who can help me P.S- I have searched the forum day and night. Thankyou for your help.
  2. I got the same problem as you'll and i fixed it. After the installation failed i rebooted back into the installer, repaired the permissions and the disk. Then i resized my partition by about a gb less and again repaired permissions and the disk and rebooted. I was treated with the mac os welcome video. I think resizing did the trick.Hope you both find this useful.
  3. Help Me installing MAC on my Desktop

i have a similar configuration(see sig) and have been using it since a year now! Infact i 'm typing from it now. I have to say its an excellent mobo and everything is supported! i recommend you do as MaLd0n says. use the vanilla kernel and enable ahci in the bios. Also try installing with a sata drive (i couldnt get mine to boot with ide)- same error as you with ide booting You shouldnt need "-v cpus=1 busratio=20" EDIT:- If you do not have a sata drive use the usb method for snow leopard this one http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=183751 got me inside snow leopard smooth! You can try without the dsdt step and generate it once inside the os
  4. no problem, im glad i could help! Also try second bar, its an excellent app.
  5. Im sorry but i do not get why you say it is a workaround. It is a feature and i do not think there is anything like the main output (whatever you put the menubar on becomes the main output automatically) You can even move the entire screen on any side in the same pref panel. I would say a workaround is something like secondbar(google it).. to make the menubar appear on both
  6. Easy! its not a hackintosh problem Its a feature of mac's goto system prefs-display and drag the menu bar from the preview of the tv to the monitor
  7. Gigabyte G41M-ES2L and 10.6 install.

i have this board and personally i prefer using voodoohda(replacement for apple hda) over the azailaaudio package i got from one of these guides. voodoohda works flawlessly(even the mic) For graphics, try nvenabler9not sure if it makes sense though)
  8. About This Mac crashes the computer 10.6.3

disable any setting called 'quick boot' or 'fast boot' or any of the bios specific options and see
