Guten Morgen Florian,

 

also irgendwie verstehe ich den Sinn Deiner Frage nicht so ganz?

Normalerweise läuft auf Deinem Computer doch schon 10.6.3 und zwar durch und mit dem Extra Ordner von Eugene ?! Und nun willst Du auf das neue 10.6.4 updaten.

Erstmal Danke für deine gute Beschreibung. Ich werde das mal ausprobieren.

 

Mein Zotac MB ist immer noch auf 10.6.2, da ich es nicht hinbekommen habe auf 10.6.3 zu aktualisieren. Deswegen meine Frage, ob man auch mit Eugene´s 10.6.2-Lösung direkt auf 10.6.4 updaten kann.

 

Allerdings höre ich von "OSX86 Tools" und "kext helper" zum ersten mal. Das war vermutlich die Ursache für mein Versagen. Werde diese Woche noch einen Versuch starten.

For english readers:

 

I didn´t use the shown apps "OSX86 Tools" and "kext helper" for upgrading, and always tried it manually. Now it´s clear why it didn´t work.

After updating harddrive from macbook pro and installing new kernel via X86Tools I get kernel panic:

also mit KP's habe ich auch öfter mal zu kämpfen. Dann versuche es doch mal mit meiner Konfiguration, weil so läuft es von Anfang an bei mir.

 

Installiere, nachdem Du das Combo-Update auf 10.6.4 durchgeführt hast, zunächst noch folgendes Tool von sojugarden....: My Hack Installer

 

Anschließend installierst Du mit dem OSX86 Tool mal den 32bit kernel....:

 

mach_kernel_atom_10.3.0_MacOSX_10.6.3.zip

Viel Glück und sag mir Bescheid.

 

Wenn's dann immer noch nicht funktioniert besuchst Du mich in Lübeck, ich bin aber auch von Zeit zu Zeit in Berlin.

I also get version mismatch error on upgrade from 10.6.3 to 10.6.4. Here's what I did:

 

- Software Update - 10.6.4 upgrade

- boot with binhack 10.3.0 x32 kernel -> KP

- disable SleepEnabler with pmVersion=0 -> KP

 

Basically, I keep getting the version mismatch error KP no matter what kernel I try. It panics on AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.

 

The only kexts I have are FakeSMC and OpenHaltRestart

 

Any ideas?

finally it worked for me with your method to upgrade to 10.6.4.

Below is described what I have done.

Since I am no expert on OSX86 stuff and sometimes have no clue what I´m doing, I may have done some unnecessary or stupid things. Feel free to correct or improve me.

 

1) I installed 10.6.0 from retail disk, and used the combo update 10.6.4.

 

2) Installed Chameleon RC4 and used Eugene´s "action pack V2" for boot-file and Extra folder.

 

3) Installed MyHack Installer 1.1 from sojugarden: MyHack Installer 1.1

 

4) Installed the 10.3.0 32-bit Kernel from hlakustiker´s source via OSX86Tools

 

Setup went well.

After booting for the first time, I realized that MyHack installs some extra kext and a new boot.plist.

So Ethernet, Sound, WiFi, USB-Storages don´t work. (USB Mouse and Keyboard work)

 

I added some lines from Eugene´s com.Apple.Boot.plist to the MyHack-Boot.plist:

I had to set USB from "HighSpeed" back to "FullSpeed" in Bios to get USB storage to work.

It is very slow now but works.

Bios setting for audio is "internal and external" now.

 

Sound and Ethernet work perfectly after these modifications.

Wifi still does not work.

 

 

Does someone have a clue what can be done about the WiFi and the USB-Setting?

Bin aus Süddeutschland, aber falls ich mal in der Gegend bin kann ich ja mal ein Bierchen spendieren.

Da ich das Zotac MoBo nur als Audioserver mit extra Soundkarte nutze, ist das mit USB und Wlan nicht so schlimm, selbst auf Onboard Sound könnte ich verzichten.

I also got the Kernel Panic on every Kernel I tried.

After using MyHack (see previous post) it worked with some issues.

I got 10.6.4 to work.

 

- use NullCPUPowerManagement

- use the new SleepEnabler for 10.6.4

 

This was the only change I needed to make from my 10.6.3 configuration, which included:

- binhack 10.3.0 kernel

- my DSDT

- fakesmc, openhaltrestart, sleepenabler, fixed AppleHDA

 

I never needed NullCPU for 10.6.3 and earlier, so I don't know why it's necessary now. Hopefully TeaTeam will come out with a hacked 10.4.0 kernel soon.

 

For those using 'installers' like MyHack, they probably include NullCPU, which is why they work.

Nee, das hat nix mit der Installation von 'MyHack' zu tun !!!! It has nothing to do with 'MyHack' !

Das war (fast!) richtig. Du hättest allerdings nur noch den AHCIPortinjector von Eugene in

den Extra-Ordner einsetzen brauchen. Ich hoffe doch, Du hast danach den

'Extensions.mkext' mit "KextUtility" repariert ? Wenn nicht solltest Du das noch nachholen !!

After installing 'MyHack' I just putted the modified AHCIPortinjector from Eugene into the Extra-Folder. Than you have to repair permissions of the 'Extensions.mkext' with 'KextUtility'. Hope you did so ?!

Alles sehr merkwürdig bei Dir !?! Some kind of odd with your installation.

 

Falls Du den 'Extensions.mkext' noch nicht repariert hast, hier ist das erforderliche Tool dazu:

 

KextUtility.v2.3.2.full.Snow.Leo.x64.ready.by.cVad.dmg.zip

Und bezüglich Deines WLAN versuche doch einfach den IO80211Family.kext.zip mit 'KextHelper b7' nochmal neu in S/L/E einzusetzen.

What needs to be changed in the dsdt when you've got only 2GB RAM?

You can use eugene's DSDT, but some things (like sleep, shutdown) may not work properly.

 

There are just 2 lines of DSDT code that are specific to RAM. They start with "OperationRegion(..." and have some hex values. If you can decompile eugene's DSDT and your own, you can find these lines and put your values into eugene's file. Then recompile and it should work.

hello, i have 2 questions for you

 

i have a zotac ionitx f-e (with pci-e 16x) with 1gb ram (i'll increase it next mouth, maybe 2 or 4gb) so, i tried to install snow leopard by a real mac, an imac, but, it wont start.

 

I don't understand 2 step:

 

1) how have to do to change the kernel? i used osx86, but when i boot into ha*ed partition, it wont start, i see a symbol of deny access on the apple symbol (in booting)

 

2) where's extra folder? (i means the folder where i need to change file with those found it) i didn't see it in /root, as the same as boot file, so i can't rewrite file because i don't find it! :wacko:

 

yeah.. i'm rookie

 

anyone can help me, maybe with some pics, thus i see what happens in your mac, and i "copy" the same operations in my mac

If you want to eat potatoes, I'ld suggest you go to buy it first. Means if you want to find the extra folder on your computer, how is it you'ld put it in the right place first by yourself ?!

1. Pull out your boot disk. Mount it on a mac.

2. Partition the drive w/ GUID Partition Table / Mac Os Extended Journaled.

3. Install OS X on it by using /System/Installation/OSInstall.mpkg from the SL disk.

4. Install the 10.6.2 Combo Update onto the drive.

5. Install Chameleon RC3 (http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=184766) *make sure not to install onto your mac's boot disk which is the default*

6. Copy over the files from this archive, putting the boot file in your / dir (/Volumes/volName) and the Extra files in your /Extra (/Volumes/volName/Extra) directory.

7. Download the patched 10.6.2 kernel http://www.mediafire.com/?jfyynujykyy, backup the kernel in / and replace it with the one from the archive.

8. Put the drive back into your Zotac system. Set the bios as specified above.

9. ...

10. Profit!

 

I have Snow Leopard dvd but no Mac computer, how can I make a CD or a Boot HDD to install SL on Zotac system?

Anybody got USB sleep work? In my system, USB sleep is ok, but had to unplug/replug after wake up. keyboard, mouse are ok, probably because they are USB 1.1, USB2.0 will not work after wakeup. Any idea?

Would be great if this could all be packaged up into an installer so you could boot from a boot CD, install Snow, update to 10.6.4 and then install kexts/DSDT and then reboot and all working?

 

Anyone able to do that - its beyond me!!

Ehh I used this to install on a at3N7A-I, the catch is because I used this tutorial I got one big problem I'm having uuid errors because of course I cannot use the DSDT.aml,

Can someone point me towards UUID kext's and instructions on how to install them, or someway to extract the dsdt.aml from my board and how to patch for uuid in the dsdt.aml file

Cause right about now I cannot install any kexts because I cannot login as root because of error 35 errors, this also causes this system not to generate an extensions mKext which means the boot is slower as it could be as well.

Help Ehh nevermind it happened because I had the usb wifi installed first and the realtek became en(1) easy fix disable both and remove the network preference files then add the mac addy inside the uuid.kext. I need that cause I dun have a dsdt.aml yet.

 

 

BTW The HD video issues all of you report could probably be solved since on the 1201N eeepc netbook 1080p video is supposed to play fine, catch is that is way above my head at the current moment on what melkort did to get that working if the people here that are more hackint0sh smart could look into that we might all just be going weeee yeah 264 video working ;)

David what you speak? Deutsch?

Anyway I'll repeat it in german if you can confirm, but sad to say as of yet there is no way to install without having another mac (hack), you put the Hard drive your gonna use in an usb drive container or dock or something, and then, you install to usb drive fresh from the dvd, (then you install chameleon) drop the kext's in the extra folder and put it inside your box and boot you got an instant mac :( on the first page of this post there are detailed instructions.

Leider kann ich nur schlecht English und komme gerade nicht weiter, wäre nett wenn du mir helfen köntest:).

On another note anyone in this thread capable of making a DSDT.aml for the AT3N7A-I for me I'm lost on what is needed for this board and cpu I would like to get hyper-threading to work and some other stuff out of the box for example I'm lost on sleep, sleep enabler kext just pukes and I'd really like to hibernate this system :D

Here are my specs currently 2 gb ram of which 512 is used for video, eventually I'll go to four but not now .
