rohde
I tried installing the Java 1.5 from Apple's site. It installed without a problem. I couldn't open the Java Preference application though. It's a PowerPC app, and that probably has something to do with it (I'm using Maxxus' 0.4 patch).

joelogic
Has anyone tried Reason 3.0, or any of the other programs in the Propellerheads arsenal? I'm going to give it a shot when I reinstall later, I was just curious to know if anyone had already been there.

I'm going to give it a shot when I reinstall later, I was just curious to know if anyone had already been there. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ok, I just installed Reason 3.0. The installation went very smoothly, when I tried running it however it told me Rewire couldnt access the application support folder. I repaired the permissions on the drive, and holy moly there were a lot of incorrect permissions. Might be worth a check for you all. Reason boots up, my eyes glisten. I press play on the demo song.... and the CPU meter spikes all the way to red, and the program promptly tells me I dont have enough CPU to play this song. Mother F**CKER. Anyone got any ideas? I have 512 megs of ram, I'm running the "unpatched" SSE3. I'm going to try playing around with some things, I'll report back later. If anyone has any ideas, or a direction to point me in, let me know. Thanks!
San Starko
Football Manager 2005 works pretty well. Using the SSE3->SSE2 patches, installs and loads up fine. A little slow, and the match screen is a little jerky but it's more than playable. Haven't tried the patch which is available for it which is meant to make it work better with OS X Tiger. I'll try that later.

Dan the Soundman
Working.... iworks (pages, keynote 2) ilife(imovie HD, Iphoto) Logic Express 7.0.1 Works brilliant (7.0.0 and 7.1 didn't work for me) see my thread in the 'successes' section for details on how good logic is on osx under rosetta. Only thing that didn't work for me is the guitar amp plugin. Videolan (Works great.I tried playing a 1080p HD clip of 'return of the king'. It just about played fine. It wasn't the smoothest, ie the odd skip now and then and a bit jittery, but it was definately watchable) All of the dashboard widgets from the apple site work as they are supposed to. EDIT by the way im on a sse3 prescott p4 and GMA900 graphics with Core image and quartz extreme working.
