  1. iPhone in Europe

I think it will be released without a contract in Europe. Cingular doesn't operate in many areas in Europe, if at all.
  2. Macworld 2007: Roundup

A MacWorld keynote with no Mac content whatsoever. Hmmm. I wouldn't say I'm dissapointed, but since I'm more a computer guy than a phone guy I sure missed some Leo info. Their name change is a very big thing tho' I think. It's clear that Apple is becoming a general electronics company than a computer company.
  3. New JaS DVD (AMD, INTEL SSE2, SSE3)

Thanks! I tried that and it worked. Well sort of. The installation went smoothly, but upon reboot it just hangs at a black screen.
  4. New JaS DVD (AMD, INTEL SSE2, SSE3)

I got it downloaded and burned to DVD! I can boot up the installation but I get an "disk0: I/O Error" before the install GUI starts and Disk Utility apparently can't Erase the disk. It's a normal PATA disk on the same BUS as the DVD-drive. That sucks...
  5. Since I can't find any mention of it in the Wiki I thought I'll try here. My mobo is ASUS P5NSLI (nForce chipset) and so far I haven't been able to get it working (on install it just keeps rebooting) so I'd like to know if someone has got it working. Anyone? At the moment I'm downloading the new JaS 10.4.8 version released yesterday and then I'll try that out. Oh boy...
  6. Hi you all, I'm trying to install the JaS reseed 10.4.8 Intel SSE3 version. I have a Core2 Duo on a NVidia motherboard containing nForce chip sets. When installing I get the dreaded "Waiting for root device". I have the DVD drive and the HD on the same IDE cable (PATA). The message before the "Waiting for root device" line is "Couldn't alloc class IOUSBUserClientInit". Is this some USB problem or is it the nForce chipset (it seems others have problem with such a chip set). Any ideas?
  7. Where is Maxxuss?

But you do know what happened to him, right?
  8. Check out macvidia.com.ar for details.
  9. The Other Way Round

Uhm, this is what this whole site is mainly about. Why do you think the image on the main paige is of a Dell running OS X? Most users here are in fact running OS X on standard PCs - hence the moniker OSx86.
  10. Apple Legal Makes Little Girl Cry

Considering the sue-and-forget attitude in the US, it's understandable that Apple will not accept any feature suggestions - it could turn out to be a legal nightmare for them. The letter was probably some standard form they send out for situations like this, although they could phrase it a bit better I guess.
  11. where is maxxuss?

Maxxuss = Chuck Norris. You read it here first!
  12. Monitor Refresh Rate

You can't. Wait until the driver works for you. Please supply np_ with all the information needed.
  13. Well at the moment we are in the mercy of a few talented and skilled persons, like Maxxuss, who are the only ones currently capable of providing us with a version of OS X capable of running on vanilla PCs. If they're still around when Leopard is released I think we are in the clear, even if Apple has put some extra measures in the works.
  14. 10.4.4 Install DVD

That sounds highly unlikely unless you're living in some fascist country.
  15. Experts I Need U!

If this processor supports SSE2 you're fine. If it doesn't you can't install OS X. (Actually OS X requires SSE3 but the patched versions has a SSE2 -> SSE3 module installed). You check this on your Windows XP install by running a program called CPUz (google it). This is fine. Don't know about this one. Check the hardware compability list - choose which one to use depending on which OS X version you want to install: http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/Main_Page As above. I find the easiest way to install OS X natively is by using the vmWare version: http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?showtopic=11314 Good luck.
