magic0200
I came across this article and although I really don't know if this can help this scene, I was wondering if it would hurt anything as well. It says they improved Mini-Display and HD performance. I personally don't really think anyone has need for the MINI-D but my laptop does have a HDMI out. As for the HD improvments.... every little bit helps. fabriciom
I think you are not the only one that found the update. I'm getting db errors from the site. I'm assuming the traffic of all nvidia users is flooding the site... DiaboliK
it also improves performance of hd playback on 7300Gt's and 9600M chips so, in other words it should help out any nvidia card. -D- http://support.apple.com/downloads/DL765/G...date2009001.dmg link for all you who dont kno where to find it Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/149462-new-nvidia-update-safe-for-osx86-012609/#findComment-1057599 Share on other sites
sidthesquid
Looks like you don't need it if you have the current drivers from these forums, tried launching it and it told me my computer does not need them. colorfuel
I lost QE & CI by installing all the kext in the package via pacifist. EDIT: Using the driver package in this thread, solved my problem: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=132089 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/149462-new-nvidia-update-safe-for-osx86-012609/#findComment-1058228 Share on other sites
or_astroman
So does this update let us have a working retail install on those Nvidia boards like the asus p5n7a-vm or the GA-E7AUM-DS2H without the Aluminum MB restore discs? Bit Shoveler
I found it on MacUpdate. It contains AppleGraphicsPowerManagement.kext, NVDANV10Hal.kext thru NVDANV50Hal.kext, and NVDAResman.kext. I didn't do a detailed comparison yet, but they have the same dates and sizes as the original 10.5.6 versions of these kexts. So far I don't notice any changes on my GeForce 9600 GT (enabled via EFI string). I still have QE/CI support. OpenGLExtensionsViewer reports nothing much has changed. iHack13
This might be one of the reasons why nVidia pulled it back.
