Is it possible to dual boot VIsta64 and OSX86 from the Asus P5Q Deluxe with each Os on a separate drive?

Example: On the C: drive I have Vista 64. On the D: drive I have OSx86 (iPC install).

The problems I seem to be running into. First, the installation goes perfectly and everythign seems to work. Then when I reboot, it goes right back to Vista. It does not offer the ability to boot to OSX. I installed EasyBCD 172 and while I have the option to boot to it, it still does not let me.

Also, in the bios for the mobo, it doesn't show the D: drive as bootable. Only the C Drive/DVD/Floppy.

I have moved/swapped the cables on the mobo. I have re-formatted the D: drive and reinstalled OSx86. I'm just lost here.

Thoughts?

Thanks

Mark

I've read everything on here but I am at a dead end. I have a single hard drive in my system with no OS on it and its plugged into the red ICH10R port. When I boot the iDeneb 1.4 install disk and select the disk utility, it doesn't detect the disk. I have AHCI enabled as well. Any ideas?

Also one more thing. System Profiler says that I have 0 processors and 1 core. I'm running a Q9550 and have flashed the BIOS on my P5Q Pro Turbo to a modded BIOS.

Can anyone give me some help?

Thanks! ;)

I am about to reformat my hdd and attempt this tutorial. I know in the past kalaway didn't run for me but I was too lazy to figure out why.

I have a p5ql pro.

Do I need to reflash the bios ? If I try iPC OS X 86 10.5.6 do i need to reflash?

Thanks in advance.

Esata on the P5Q Deluxe?

Hey All. I'm desperately trying to find out if anyone's gotten this to work because I can't. I've got to get this working soon (if possible). My Sata drives work, just not the Esata connector on my mobo backplane. Yes, I could add an extender to the internal to an empty slot, but that's not what I'm looking to do.

Anyone?

Thanks

I have a ASUS P5QL Pro, bios 1004 trying to boot iDeneb 10.5.7(with the fix) and no matter what I try in the bios it won't boot.

I attach a screenshot of the error on boot.

Specs are

Intel Core2Quad Q8400 2.66Ghz

4Gb ram

NVIDIA 9600GT

SATA HDD and DVD using AHCI mode in the bios.

Any ideas why this won't boot at all? Not matter what option I pick in the bios and iDeneb options. Also non of the bios mods work in this thread with my ASUS P5QL Pro, it's saying it's not the right bios.

OK, I've just got Leopard working after getting past the IO buffer error hanging(using the HowTo). Ethernet and sound is now working as well on my ASUS P5QL Pro and I didn't need to flash the bios.

I need to boot with cpus=1 -f all of the time and shutdown/restart doesn't work proper. Any ideas on this? :(

@ RoberT_XeS

Thanks!

After trying several times to get it to work on a previous WinXP install (yes! I've installed it in IDE and no, the "fix" didn't worked for me) I've managed to install it on dual boot with Win7. Both installs work quite well.

Used iPC 10.5.6 and upgraded using iDeneb 10.5.8 combo upgrade. Thanks for the supplied drivers.

The only headake was given by the video board. EVGA 9500 GT 1GB.....But I managed with it using the info and drivers provided Here

Again, thanks to everybody that made it possible.

Hello Guys!

Been pondering over this for a few days now...

ASUS PQ5 SE2

2GB DDR2 800

NVIDIA 9500GT

Can't seem to find the modded BIOS for the motherboard. I tried using iAtkos v7 and v5, it just reboots the computer a few seconds after -v at the Darwin screen. Also tried to follow the BIOS settings, still the same result... REBOOT....

Downloading iPC and iDeneb right now. Hope I don't get the same results.:)

Do you guys have other suggestions or fixes? Thanks so much in advance!

Hi all! I had Abit IP35Pro working perfectly Snow 10.6.1

Last week I changed it to Asus P5Q Premium.

I had to reinstall. Tried everything but no luck so I decided to use a modded BIOS.

Install new BIOS OK and after restart the monitor stays off

Clear CMOS bla bla bla but no luck...

The fans are working but monitor stays off. (tried also with other memory, VGA)

If anyone had the same problem please help... :(

Hello.

I have P5Q SE/R motherboard.

I'm trying to install iPC 1.5.6

I modded bios as it was said in the first post.

I burnt the dvd with iPC on a low speed. when the disk boots and asks to push F8 I push it. Then I tried:

1. typing -v (system reboots itself)

2. typing -f (the same)

3. typing -x (the same)

4. typing -v -f cpus=1 (the only way to boot. but it gets stuck in one place - it's on the picture)

When I make Sata mode as AHCI my computer just doesn't launch. I mean it all stucks at bios: it doesn't reply to my keyboard commands and i have to reboot.

Help please!
