DarkSun8
I`ve got Acer As 5536 and Broadcom NetLink 5784M. I`ve installed driver that I downloaded in the first post and did all things written in tutorial. Now my network cable is shown always enabled, even if cable is unplugged from laptop:) I have network with static IP and I can`t ping both router and my IP. In System Profiler my mac-adress is OK. cmartin64x
Hi, I have a Dell XPS 1640 with iAtkos v7 / Leopard 10.5.7. My device property on Vista tells me that the card is a Broadcom 14e4:1698 ... not 1693. Will it explain why I cannot get the driver to work ?
nobb1x
1698 is a 5784M, you need to install the 5784 version, not the 5787,look the first post here and follow the link.
cor7ex
Hi! Can you tell me please how you got your Ethernet Card working on iatkos v7 ? I am a newbie It will not work Thanks
Mac2x
Thanks to this thread this solves my problem on my BCM5784M 14e4:1698 card driver. now i got an IP, Masks, Router, DNS Server addresses respectively. BUT! because i can't figure out on Hex Editing using hexfiend. I still can't connect to the Internet or Ping other computers on my network. so i did some searching until i found of like this: open a Terminal then type: sudo ifconfig enX lladdr 00:00:00:00:00:00 where X is the number of your Enthernet and the zero(0) is the actual Mac Address of the card. provide your Admin password if needed. so simple but effective than Hex Editing. BINGO!!!!
Jorge Rivera
For everyone who has Snow Leopard installed and want to make it work, heres how you can do it: 1. IOPCIFamily.kext from Leopard 10.5.8 modded to recognize PCI devices 2. AppleBCM5787Methernet kext 3. Just install with kexthelper and restart 4. Boot with -f and -v option. There are some issues with sleep 5. Try using the script to enable the interface or use tcpdump

nobb1x
don't mess with old IOPCI, soon i'll release a native snow leopard kext for the 5787M, it don't work 100% but is far better than my old. just wait few days.
Thmz
Thank you for releasing a new one! I've reinstalled my SL many times and it didn't work but now it will maybe work But I'm not really shure if I have a BCM5787M. In Windows it's listed as Broadcom Netlink Gigabit Ethernet but it is a 14E4, 1693.
