    Thanks nobb1x i tried the kext.. atleast it doesnot break the shutdown n restart.. im still on 10.6.2 is it worth to update to 10.6.3 i dont want to lose out on my graphic functionality (intel x3100)

    one more thing.. in 10.5.x (leo) this card used to work in promisc mode.. is it the same here or it'll work just by installing the kext that u provided..and promisc mode is no longer needed.. thanks

    i got a similar notebook HP 6710b.. i've installed SnowLeo on it.. but the LAN (BCM 5787M) Broadcom Netlink Gigabit ethernet Does not work for me.. pls can u tell me: 1.what Kext did u use for it.. and 2.whether ur laptop shuts down properly with it working.. 3.also are you using ur snow leo in 32bit (x86) or 64 bit mode.. 4. if possible then pls send me the kext for BCM5787m or the link from where i can get it. coz i didn't see that driver in ur listing above thanks in advance Anurag
  5. Realtek ALC268 Driver

    try this AppleHDA.kext from the zip file. be sure to remove any traces of HDAEnabler.kext or azalia kext that you may have installed if still unsuccessful then you may revert to the Applehda.kext by collit that you may have been using earlier. just install it with kext helper and repair permissions with disc utility. remember you dont need HDAenabler.kext or any HDEF efi strings (for sound) with my kext. ALC268_AppleHDA.zip

    This is a working driver for Realtek alc268 with auto-sensing for headphone and microphone external jacks. Working MUTE. fully functional for my setup. System Profiler shows: Intel High Definition Audio: Device ID: 0x10250135 Audio ID: 12 Available Devices: Speaker: Connection: Internal Headphone: Connection: 1/8 inch Jack Microphone: Connection: Internal Microphone: Connection: 1/8 inch Jack on Iatkos v7 10.5.7 Acer 2920 CPU T5800 @ 2.0GHz 160gb hdd, 3gb, Gma X3100, ALC268, LAN: BCM5787M & BCM 4311 airport. also no need to install hda enabler ALC268_AppleHDA.zip

    if your model no. is DWL-G122 hardware rev. is C1 then download the driver file from this link of RAlink's website http://www.ralinktech.com.tw/data/drivers/..._2007_11_26.dmg it contains both ra2870 and ra25xx chipset drivers. but then you won't be able to use "kismac" hope this helps you.. it should work with other hardware versions too.
