LS8 Posted January 17, 2009 Share Posted January 17, 2009 You need to add the second device to the xml plist and then convert it to hex. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>[DISPLAY-DEVICEPATH]</key> <dict> <key>@0,compatible</key> <string>NVDA,NVMac</string> <key>@0,device_type</key> <string>display</string> <key>@0,name</key> <string>NVDA,Display-A</string> <key>@1,compatible</key> <string>NVDA,NVMac</string> <key>@1,device_type</key> <string>display</string> <key>@1,name</key> <string>NVDA,Display-B</string> <key>NVCAP</key> <data> [OUTPUTS] </data> <key>NVPM</key> <data> AQAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA== </data> <key>VRAM,totalsize</key> <string>[MEMORYSIZE]</string> <key>device_type</key> <string>NVDA,GeForce</string> <key>model</key> <string>[MODELNAME]</string> <key>name</key> <string>NVDA,Parent</string> <key>rom-revision</key> <string>0x302e3176</string> </dict> <key>[ETHERNET-DEVICEPATH]</key> <dict> <key>built-in</key> <string>0x01</string> </dict> </dict> </plist> Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/115121-gigabyte-ga-ep45-dq6/page/13/#findComment-1045473 Share on other sites More sharing options...

osxchat Posted January 20, 2009 Share Posted January 20, 2009 Thanks, I did that and everything worked fine, but it was interesting to note that performance on every graphics and OpenGL benchmarc was identical or slightly worse than that of my 8800 GTS. One additional feature of the 8800gts is that it runs much cooler. I'm using a passive cooler on it and it is around 45c. Nulijus Posted January 21, 2009 Share Posted January 21, 2009 Hey guys. I did a retail install on EP45-DS4P with 10.5.6 combo update and so on, but now system profiler crashes any time I run it. I'm using AppleSMBIOS.kext from ls8_v14 pack. Tried few others, like these from ls8 pack and from "native raid" topic. Others just brings "Still waiting root device". Where was no problem in 10.5.5. In report to Apple it says that problem is with smth like floating point. Maybe u guys have any ideas? And also I can't see my IDE hdd drives. I need just JMicron and IOATAfamily kexts right? Sorry for so many questions but I got lost. LS8 Posted January 21, 2009 Share Posted January 21, 2009 IDE drives cause the problem. Switch to SATA and you'll be OK. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/115121-gigabyte-ga-ep45-dq6/page/13/#findComment-1050553 Share on other sites More sharing options...
Nulijus Posted January 21, 2009 Share Posted January 21, 2009 I doubt it, why you think so? OS X is booting from software raid. And other SATA hdd and SATA DVD-RW works fine. And earlier on 10.5.5 there was no problem with that but also I wasn't able to see these drives. LS8 Posted January 22, 2009 Share Posted January 22, 2009 It is the easiest thing you can try. Disconnect all PATA/IDE devices, remove jmicronata.kext from system. Then report your results, please. Nulijus Posted January 22, 2009 Share Posted January 22, 2009 I'll tried. No changes. Tried with vanilla JMicronATA, without it - still nothing. Anyway, thank you for trying. LS8 Posted January 25, 2009 Share Posted January 25, 2009 Did someone try the latest audio drivers from http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...140941&st=0 ??? Which one is suitable for GA-EP45-DQ6? Can we finally get rid of the ALCinject method? LS8 Posted January 26, 2009 Share Posted January 26, 2009 Thank you, I am testing it now. Installation: Download 1.6.2a37_3outs3ins_digital_HDA_headphone.zip sudo rm -r /System/Library/Extensions/AppleHDA.kext sudo rm -r /System/Library/Extensions/ALCinject.kext sudo mv /Users/admin/Downloads/1.6.2a37\ 3outs3ins\ digital\ HDA\ headphone/AppleHDA.kext /System/Library/Extensions/ sudo mv /Users/admin/Downloads/1.6.2a37\ 3outs3ins\ digital\ HDA\ headphone/HDAEnabler.kext /System/Library/Extensions/ sudo diskutil repairpermissions / sudo rm -r /System/Library/Extensions.mkext sudo reboot EDIT: audio works, front panel works, back panel out (green) is muted automatically with headphones inserted to front panel out (green), front panel mic in (pink) works (External microphone in System preferences/Sound), back panel mic in works (Internal microphone in System preferences/Sound). EDIT2: for me the audio driver is producing the poping sound if a new sound starts playing after a while of inactivity. I am now testing various AppleSMBIOS.kext versions to solve this. EDIT3: AppleSMBIOS from karaakeha1's pack seems to work fine: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?act...st&id=41125. What is the most recent and best working AppleSMBIOS for our motherboard?. Apple released AppleSMBIOS-33 at http://www.opensource.apple.com/darwinsour...AppleSMBIOS-33/, did someone manage to compile it for OSX86? EDIT4: Andy VanDijk compiled AppleSMBIOS-33, see http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=129930. I will test this version tomorrow. EDIT5: AppleSMBIOS-33 from Andy works fine, LS8v15 released!!!
