@lastExile

Thank You!

My HD2600XT PCIe card is working perfectly in 10.5.6.

sweet !

although I crashed my screen once, I tried your new 2600 pcie driver and

IT WORKS!

THANK YOU!

but there's a strange thing going on. Sometimes my HP w2207h screen turns black for a few seconds! My resulution is 1680x1050 with 60HZ (I can't change the 60HZ)

Can s.o. help me solve this problem?

THANX

will check the reason for that :)

Still can't get my hd3850 pcie 256mb to work. Even with other framebuffers I get a blue, sometimes black screen at startup. Weird thing is every 4 or 5 restarts it does actually works, at least with Lamna and Mega it does. Thanks for all your help so far, I will get this thing to work.

I still need help!

Has no one the same problem with the pcie 2400 pro? ( Screen switches black for a few seconds )

Is it possible that with these drivers the graphic card is getting too hot so that the screen is switching black?

or is it because I only have the 10.5.2 Kalyway with an 9.4 darwin...

2400 pro pcie on Leopard 10.5.5 with method of el_rocjie works fine for many users. (page 43 of this Topic)

With new version of your driver I don't have the problem with network pci card but I have this screen :)

I've attached a photo of my screen.

I've installed 3650 pkg for AMD.

The positive thing is with this version I can boot in safe mode with network card, with old version I can't boot with pci plugged.

THANK YOU Giorgio-multi

But I don't know if this fits to me.

I'll explain

heres his quote

Ago to the /system/library/extentions and find there ATIRadeonX2000.kext (!!!)

and dont change right that file, copy it on desktop (or somewhere else) and open copy (show package contents), find "Info.plist" and open it with plist editor. Find string with "IOPCIMatch", put there your id dev 0x94c31002 (thats 2400 pro id), save it.

I've searched in windows for my device ID of my radeon 2600 pro

and it says

Device Identifier: {D7B71EE2-D6C9-11CF-546E-0800A1C2CB35}

Vendor ID: 0x1002

Device ID: 0x9589

SubSys ID: 0x20021787

Revision ID: 0x0000

Revision ID: 0x0000

The actual device ID in the plist is 0x95891002. This seems to be a combination of Dev ID und Ven ID. So I guess this has to be right.

Maen this is very annoying. My new 3650 is already delivered. But then I discover this new drivers. BUT it only work partly. So my screen still switches black for a few seconds sometimes

The right id of your video card is 0x95891002 (device id + vendor id without 0).

I have Kalyway 10.5.2 with an 9.4 Darwin Vanilla Kernel ( and I'm to anxious to update, cause I don't want to reinstal)

My graphic card has 2 DVI outs and I'm connected with HDMI to my monitor

The method of el_rocje works only with 10.5.5!

I feared that this would be the reason :(

oh my goodness, I don't know how to update without the risk of a crash...

thx

From a clean installation of Kalyway 10.5.2:

1) download kalyway combo update 10.5.3 package and Kalyway kernel package;

backup your video and audio drivers;

2) install combo update and NOT reboot. Install package kernel and NOT select any kernel (deselect if selected); reinstall your video and audio drivers (with Kexthelper);

3) reboot with the flags: update -v

and you have 10.5.3.

4) Download apple 10.5.4 update (not combo, simple) from Apple web site

5) Backup your video and audio kexts

5) open terminal and type:

sudo while sleep 1; do rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext; done <return>

type your password <return>: DON'T CLOSE THIS TERMINAL!

6) Instal the update 10.5.4

7) Reinstall your video and audio kexts with kexthelper

8) reboot and you have 10.5.4

9) reply from point 4 to 8 but download 10.5.5 update (simple, non combo) and you have 10.5.5.

Good luck, Giorgio

I apologize for my bad english.
