Radeon HD 2600pro & XT 10.5.5 update coming

Update: Sept-19.2008

So everyone has been asking for the 34xx series well Resolution works and looks like CI/QE might work soon not sure how soon tho due to work kicks me.. (LOL)

and Radeon HD 2600Pro works vanilla with added device id into info.plist & added Natit.kext, 3850 Works like 3870 just with natit as far as 3870x2 it might work the same

as 3850 but still needs to be tested... anyone that has a 3870x2 needs to try and see if it still needs to have white menu bug and report back into the irc channel for some direct help

for 2400 the DVI issue is still there but is on a note for fix :(

as far as mobility it does not look so good but not to give up the hope :)

for 48xx Netkas still looking at a fix or just waiting for apple to add the support or ati but hopefully 10.5.6 will have more support

Ps. i will refresh the installers maybe not all of them at once but will be updated with proper fix on it

Tiger installers will be on rapidshare seems like sendspace cant handle the load lol

How To: if it doesnt install the kexts use Pacifist to install the pkg :) ( refreshing the pkg list soon )

Known Issues :.

AGP: Kernel Panic Due to AGPGart Version newer versions for nvidia Nforce users and some doesnt give the AGP Status in sys profiler ( 2600pro&XT and 3650 )

PCie: No QE/CI only Resolution for some. No DVI mode for some 2400 users :D

for direct help Join irc.osx86.hu #RadeonHD

and give Netkas the thanks :D

Update: try pkg for 2600 Pro & XT, 3850 & 3870 and maybe ( 2400 series ) also 3650 users try this Report back

I have just installed the 10.5.6 Update; it has taken away my Quartz Extreme capability of my Radeon 2600 Pro. This is disappointing, because it took me a couple weeks to finally get it to work using your installers. I hope you or anyone who can help, can get this back up to speed.

Thanks for all your hard work, please keep it up!

One More Thing:

I noticed that the 10.5.6 Update was addressing some video card driver issues itself; this led me to look more closely at my System profiler.

It is now referring to my ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro as an ATI Radeon 2600 XT. It does however say that it is 512mb. I thought that this info

could be useful in figuring out what is crippling QE.

Good Luck!!

im just reading this thread and my questions are:

why all these ati mobilities HD 2400...4000 have an 9xxx id and use atiradeonx2000.kext

i have an mobility HD 2300 with ID 7210 (gpu M71M) and with atiradeonx1000.kext i have QE/CI but only 1024 resolution

any hope in 10.5.6 update?

My configuration is:

(man, I got a realy cheap and not too old Mac...)

Dell Inspiron 530 (<$500)

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600

4GB RAM (4x1GB came with Dell))

ATI HD 2400 PRO (MSI RX2400PRO) (<$30)

21.6" AOC monitor (<$130)

Total <$660 (tax incl.)

EDIT: I have iDeneb 10.5.5 installed

None of video drivers worked fine using the methods listed earlier.

It was either white/black stripes and symbols on the screen or no QE/CI.

Then the method cited form Giorgio-multi at page 53 worked like charm.

All resolutions and QE/CI became available.

I tried before to edit and replace the Info.plist manually, but that's probably not the way it should be.

Thank you GIORGIO-MULTI for sharing that with us.

And thank you, Last Exile for making this possible.

(I am still new to OSX/BSD but learning fast)

So when I did update with KEXT HELPER everything was nice and dandy.

And the Magnification effect is not a good way to tell if you have QE/CI supported or not.

Maybe it is the QUAD that made it look good, but it was OK.

I couldn't say the same about "the screensaver" though (that one that is like flames).

So after I got the QE/CI on it is much better now even at 1680x1050

(or whatever the most popular 22" resolution is).

About DVI - my monitor is one of these cheap $140 ($115 after a coupon from eBay) 22" AOC that OfficeDepot offerred recently

and it has just VGA connector, and it is connected to DVI through DVI adapter.

Haven't tried it on VGA yet, because I thought I will be able to use second monitor.

Has anybody used 2 monitors successfully with that card?

How is the second monitor being managed/cotrolled in MacOS?

And also I got an additional set of two halfgig drives in RAID0 - is anybody using RAID on ICH9 at all?

It would be great if this is possible too...

Hello all

I'm running iAtkos 10.5.5 on P4c800 deluxe /p4 2,6 ghz(only sse2)/1 Gb ram

I had many problems wit my radeon 9250 AGP, i was able to enable Agp bus with Agpgart but never had success with QE/CI.

Now i'm running my system with geforce fx5200 but i have reverse problem.. can't make it work with agpgart but full resolutions and QE/CI active. It is a good solution but sometime the system slow down..

I would like to enable QE/CI with AGP bus and seems it can only works on ati cards.

Is agp bus enabled in 2600xt and 3850 cards with drivers provided here?

I'm planning a little update :)

sorry for my italian english :P

In the Studio 15/17 thread it was said that other than all new/altered kexts that they have added pre-installing the patch disappearing everything has worked excluding video of course. They have had to re-install the kexts that had been altered/disappeared and all function had returned. Haven't updated to 10.5.6 yet so I can't give you an answer regarding any change to the video status with regards to opengl but I assume everything is still software driven with video card only recognized and no QE/CI.
