  1. 10.6.2 Released!

I have what appears to be a unique problem, haven't seen anyone with this problem yet: I have Radeon 4670, so booting normally gives me jumbled screen, but I can boot into safe mode. In safe mode, I was able to install the 10.6.1 update fine, but whenever I try to install the 10.6.2 update, it always kernel panics near the end. It doesn't screw anything up, because I can reboot again, try again, and have the same problem. Does anyone have a solution for this?
  2. ATI Radeon HD 4650

VNC or SSH in to your mac and see if you can change resolution and if you have qe/ci....If you ssh, the command you want to use is just "system_profiler" without quotes.
  3. ATI Radeon HD 4650

With my 4670, I can install kexts and qe/ci works, but there is no output to monitor (I have tried both ports)....Also, qe/ci only work if dvi2vga is plugged in to port 1(closest to mobo)
  4. What about the new ATI HD4850 ?

As per netkas' suggestion on IRC, I SSH'ed into my computer with drivers installed(when its in black screen), and use the system_profiler command. Well, interestingly enough, it errors when it gets to the "Display" section Edit: Switching to port 1 (closest to mobo) gets me full qe/ci and res change! But, sadly, it won't output to monitor, so i can only see this on vnc....Also, it recognizes my monitor, too....it says Q9-2 Series (my model number for monitor) and has all the right resolutions/refresh rates...SO CLOSE! I attached picture taken with VNC
  5. What about the new ATI HD4850 ?

I think i found where to do this and I am doing it now Edit: I did this. Earlier, I installed new kexts released today, and junk was gone, but no picture was there on startup. Adding my device id to natit goes back to same thing as before Edit: I didn't repair permissions on natit . After doing so....it goes back to quick flash of blue screen on start, and then black screen (no picture sent to monitor) Edit: adding new OpenGL framework goes back to random junk
  6. What about the new ATI HD4850 ?

I tried this wit Radeon HD 4670...The results are not great. OS X boots up, but then there is just random junk (white dots all over the place, only on black background). I checked radeon2000x.kext and 4670 device id is included
  7. I've installed iDeneb v4 perfectly. After install, though, I get the error above, "using 16384 buffer headers and 4096 cluster IO buffer headers" and it hangs there. I've already searched this on here and tried all that I could (cpus=1, -f, -x, ACPI fix in install, etc.), but none of it worked. Here's my specs: 1.6 ghz Celeron Dual Core E1200 4gb 800mhz DDR2 RAM 200gig IDE (Leopard) 120gig IDE (Windows) Biostar G31-M7 TE (G31 chipset, ICH7) Radeon HD 4670
  8. What about the new ATI HD4850 ?

    How about 4670?
  9. What about the new ATI HD4850 ?

Will the 4800 kexts work for 4670? Im going to try tomorrow, but it would be nice to know ahead of time to possibly save time. Thanks.
  10. ATI Radeon HD pkg installers 10.5.x & 10.6

So this doesn't work then?: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?s=&...st&p=942215
  11. ATI Radeon HD pkg installers 10.5.x & 10.6

Does the 10.5.6 add support for Radeon HD 4670? If not, is 4670 support coming soon?
  12. Kalyway 10.5.2 - Random Hang

Bump....anyone know if this is hardware or software?
  13. I recently installed OSX on an old machine with Kalyway 10.5.2. Basic Specs: 2.4ghz Pentium 4 (SSE2, SSE3) 1 gb PC-2700 RAM 128 MB Radeon 9800 Pro (AGP) So, it booted up fine the SECOND time (first time hung on boot). Then I installed AGPGart to get my card working to its fullest. Well, after setting the aperture size to 32mb, it stopped booting up, but here's the thing: it hangs AFTER doing the AGPGart stuff. It gets by the AGPGart stuff, and then hangs about 4-6 lines after that (its random, its different everytime). The HDD activity just stops suddenly, and I'm not sure what's going on. I don't think it is AGPGart because of this, but it is interesting to note that I can boot into safe mode. Anyone have an idea about what's going on? (Note: The same thing would happen if I used a DVD to install....the DVD would hang at COMPLETELY RANDOM places. I couldn't see any pattern of hangs, so I used the Hd Helper to install instead) Thanks for the help in advance
