What exactly does it offer that third parties haven't been offering for years? If i was going to get a speaker dock for my ipod I'd get the Bose one. It's $50 cheaper for a start.

One nice feature is that it can charge your iPod form it's batteries if the iPod is running low

 

But I will reserve my final judgment until i read a review from the sound quality side.

i think that is just bose and apple teaming together to make a "iWaveRadio"....Well atleast by the "iPod Hi-Fi delivers natural, room-filling sound" line. ive listened to too many bose infomercials to miss out on that line.

Seriously folks, a good ol' cable going into your regular stero's line in does the trick. Cool in concept, but not something I see as really practicle. Waiting for the verdict on sound quality as well.

I need some audiophiles to tell me how the specs compare to normal stereo speaker setups. Interestingly I don't see any specs that indicate power output such as the watts. Can a speaker that the ipod is physically attached to have alot of bass power without screwing up the disk spinning?

I need to see one first hand and actually use it before I pass judgment.

Right now I just have my iPod's Dock tied into my home stereo and that works fine.

 

I will admit it does look cool. But then again so does all of Apple's products.

It looks cool, but that's about it....$350!??! my iPod costs less than that! all the speakers in one box?! what about my SURROUND sound?

Don't get me wrong, I love apple and I love their products but this one is just stupid and ugly..

I'm pretty sure that this will flop unfortunately. It's way too expensive and doesn't have thoughtful features we'd expect from Apple.

 

Where is the video out? The dock connector so that we can sync it while it's on the hi-fi?
