Finally managed to make work Jas 10.5.4 on Vmware 6.5 on a Lenovo T60 laptop.

Also solved the problem with missing keyboard after installation without connecting an external usb keyboard.

Is just a package missing in Jas install kit: ApplePS2Controller.kext (I think that was discussed also in this forum)

In the end everything was simple:

VT on in BIOS

Virtual disk : SCSI

CD1 : IDE 0:0 with Jas ISO (no Demon tools or other emulators)

CD2 : IDE 0:1 with ApplePS2Controller.kext -> ISO - after instalation

Guest: FreeBSD-64

Disabled floppy & serial/paralel ports

Installed X11, StageXNU, Intel-ICHx, ACPIPS2NUB, ApleIntelPIIATA, Intel ICH7 to ICH9 AHCI, SMBIOS 1066.

Still not working Sound & Network but I don't need them for moment.

Hmm...

Do you know if it's possible to update FROM 10.5.3? I've tried a few times, but I can't seem to get it to work. I'll try again when I get back to my computer.

Hi friends,

Mac OS is up and running (VM 6.5), but is very slow. I have already tried more than one combination: more or less memory, two or one processor, with no success.

Anyone with leopard in a VM that speed is normal or almost normal like windows xp in a VM?

Thanks

Victor

I don't know how is working XP in VM but Leopard works pretty well, fast enough.

So, ive got a T5500 which DOES NOT support VT. Can i still install Mac OSX in VMware?

Running the latest stable 6.5 build, and using iATKOS_4.1i. I tried changing guest-os to darwin, other and freebsd but no go just stays at the apple screen :(. Am i out of luck?

im downloading the new vmware 6.5 final. i will test it now with leopard to see if sound is working.

Audio works for vanilla retail install using using this driver http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=88597. Stutters a bit but better than nothing.

Is there anything special you did to get this work? I have a T60 and have been unable to get this working using JaS 10.5.4

Just a quick post to send my hearty thanks to Donk...

Managed to make my laptop PC now a Mac - so that I can do some iPhone Developing!

Just to reiterate - anyone trying to do this on a HP laptop - you need to enable "Virtualization Technology"

When I try to run it for the first time I get "isolinux: Extremely broken BIOS detected, last ditch attempt with drive = 9F" - does anyone have any suggestions? The host computer is a Dell M1530 with a 2.4ghz C2D, 4 gigs of RAM and a Geforce 9600m GT. VMWare version 6.5. Trying to use iATKOS 5i...

Hello,

Thanks for all the advice on installing this release. I did manage to get it to install after enabling VT in my system BIOS however upon restarting I get a VMWare error message:

"*** Virtual machine kernel stack fault (hardware reset) ***

The virtual machine just suffered a stack fault in kernel mode. On a real computer, this would amount to a reset of the processor. It can be caused by an incorrect configuration of the virtual machine, a bug in the operating system, or a problem in the VMware Workstation software. Press OK to reboot virtual machine or Cancel to shut it down."

My system spec if as follows:

HP Compaq 6720s with a T7250 Intel CPU.

4GB RAM

VMWare Workstation 6.5.1 Build 125130

Using the zip files posted by Donk on page one.

I've tried changing the OS type from Darwin-x64 to Other-x64 but that did not work.

Any ideas people?

Thanks,

Chris
