bpeugh
I was wondering if anyone has gotten any TV Tuner Cards to work as I would like to watch TV on my OSX86 box. If I can clear up that and the mouse problem, I think everything will be gravy. Thanks. JimBob
It would be great to have a card that could record like a DVR too. I'd sure be interested in one if there is a solution, ideally one that works on OSX, Linux, and XP. bpeugh
iTV 4.0 as an app installed fine for me but crashes upon load running 10.4.4. The guy who made it says it is to work with the Brooktree BT848/BT878 chipset. TranSport
You need open GL for iTV to work. This may be the reason it crashes. Now I use MEDIACENTRAL It is uni-bin and rocks. dio
Ok for the colors problem, just change the desinterlace to the third possibiliy ( blur ... something like that). But it's not perfect I have no sound and iTv make my "mac" very slow. I thinl that the answer is near. bpeugh
I tried using iTV with a Hauppauge WinTV Go which uses the BT878 chip which is supposed to work but could get nothing off of cable signal. domino
Hmm, I currently use iTV .04 and PixelView Pro BT878 PCI. It seems that the card is configured to only use Opengl. I need it to use Quartz Video in order to show properly. Maybe I'll mail the dev and see if he can force it to use Quartz. Oh, and sound works well. domino
I contacted Andreas, developer of iTV. He said that he will be watching the MacPro machines to see is it's possible. As of now, he thinks iTV will only work with machines closest to the DTK video cards and he will not be developing it for hackintosh machines. so we wait.. in the mean time, here'es another one: iTele is a Mac OS X application that allows you to watch and record Digital TV (including HDTV) on your Mac http://www.defyne.org/dvb/iTele.html This app only supports digital TV. Elcheapo BT878 analog will not work. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/10152-any-tv-tuner-pci-cards-working/#findComment-150960 Share on other sites
Ageve
I tried iTele, and it works, but the picture look like {censored} and is updated every 2-3 seconds. What about this Mediacentral. Is it free? I have a Visionplus DVB-T card. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/10152-any-tv-tuner-pci-cards-working/#findComment-151027 Share on other sites
MacSimizeDenver
You can download MediaCentral as shareware. Inside the installer is an uninstaller vor the drivers you needed in iTele before.
