  1. So I have been away for awhile from the scene, but I just got back recently with my latest installation. Everything is working fine, and everything is recognized. I am using Chameleon RC5 with GraphicsEnabler=Yes, and UseATIRom=Yes (I saved my rom from Windows). But when I am playing a video, or even moving windows around the screen, there is a slight tearing effect. Here is my HW: Dell i560-2050nbk e5400 C2D 4GB DDR3 XFX ATI 5770 1GB DDR5 Its nothing major, just annoying. It seems as though VSync is disabled, or my refresh rate is off. Anyone know?
  2. I have been off the scene for awhile and a lot has changed. What is the best way to install Snow Leopard on my laptop? iAtkos S3? My laptop's specs are as follows: MB:Intel Crestline-PM PM965 BIOS:AMI BIOS 300 Processor:Mobile DualCore Intel Core 2 Duo T5450, 1666 MHz Memory: 2GB DDR2 667 RAM Display: NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT 256MB (Turbo memory to 512MB) External Interface:S-Video DVI VGA Network:Realtek RTL8168B/8111B PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Adapter (PHY: Realtek RTL8211/8212) PCI Sound:Realtek ALC660 @ Intel 82801HBM ICH8M - High Definition Audio Controller PCI WiFi:Intel® Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN Modem:Motorola SM56 Speakerphone Modem Card reader:Ricoh RL5C8xx Any help would be appreciated as I am anxious to get back to Mac! Thanks!
  3. I have not had a problem until I upgraded to 10.5.7. Now, the computer boots to OSX fine, but while doing anything, my computer locks up randomly and flashes a blue screen, then back to the desktop. Anyone know anything?
  4. Just had a look-see on their website. The only downside to this notebook is that there is no LED display. Its the same old crappy macbook glossy display.
  5. HELP with Asus N10 OS X install.....

    Any luck?
  6. 10.5.4 Released

This is why I love my new laptop...
  7. So if an update comes out where there is a new SMBios, then I don't have to worry as this will rectify any issues?
  8. I know its possible to share a HDD from a Windows machine to a Mac over a network. My question is if I could do backups to that HDD that is connected to my Windows machine. I am running Vista 32 SP1 with MacDrive installed so it will read mac disks. Can I share it and then do a backup from my Macbook Pro? Thanks!
  9. Widescreen? Say, 1920 x 1080 and/or 1920 x 1200? P.S. Why did you buy an iPhone NOW? They are coming out with a new one in about a month if that! Take it back and wait!
  10. Do Mac's get viruses?

There are some viruses for Mac's, but nothing you can just "catch" while surfing the internet. For the few Mac viruses out there, there are thousands more for Windows. But no, virus software is not necessary.
  11. Same here. I just wanted to add that Macs are awesome. You really wont find a notebook that is sturdier or thinner than the Macbook Pro, and still have the specs it has. Its your choice. I just got tired of having to hassle my OS X install on my hackintosh everytime I wanted to update. I needed stability, and Macs have it.
  12. Macs do tend to cost a bit more, mainly because of the support. Try calling HP and you'll get a guy in India who will want you to walk him through your issue. With a Mac, you are covered by Apple and can go to any Apple Store and talk to a real person face-to-face and ask questions about your Mac. Also, Macs come with EFI, giving it an edge when Windows finally "upgrades". The aluminum body and backlit keyboard are extremely nice. Lets not forget about the screen! I know for a fact that the screen on my Macbook Pro is AWESOME! I have had 2 laptops before this (One HP and one Dell), and there was a lot of light leakage around the edges and on the bottom. The Macbook Pro has an LED backlit screen and that makes all the difference. Mine looks better than most desktop monitors! Hope I could help!
  13. I saw that too! Thankfully its working now. Maybe there will be an announcement...
