Thx btw: here's my system specs Dell 8400 P4 SSE3 3.4GHZ 1gb DDR2 Ram DVD-ROm Philips DVD+-RW SATA HDD Whoa! You and I have the exact same box - same chip, same ram, SATA HDD, but different DVD (mine is a pioneer I moved from an old p3 as OSX didn't like the one dell sent originally). I guess I'll wait on burning another dvd eh? Looks like you got a bit further along in the boot process than I did - my kernel panics right after the kexts are read - so roughly after about four or five lines are on the screen. Is this with the kernel (test3 I think) that kday mentioned above?
re-book
Since 8f1099 I can't boot my machine HP-dc7100 which has a TPM. (915G / 3 Ghz Pentium / PAE / HT / SSE3) Not native and not in VMWARE. It is the same with 8f1111. The error is allways the same : "Unable to find driver for platform: "ACPI" With 8f1099 I tried a lot, the last thing I did test was the Maxxuss ppf 1.1 a. With the bootloader patch the boot behavior changed to what former was known as "PAE-Error", reloading the boot-menu ( happens with all kernels). With 8f1111 I just applied the oah-files and removed the extensions-folder and the file extensions.mkext. I tried a lot in the bios - disabling / enabling acpi and internal ports, devices, drives e.c.t.: What am i missing. cyrana
Just a note that Maxxuss' original patches worked on my HP 7100 (someone posted about it a few up). GrandMasta
Well after some google searching.. I have found that setting vmware to use my iso to boot from is Causing my SAM Multimedia Errors. Mounting the iso using Daemon tools then setting VMware to use the daemon drive to boot from has gotten me into the Installer. Woohoo

When you replace mach_kernel in the iso you are only replacing the kernel used in the installation process. Once installed you´ll have to replace again the kernel in your hard disk either using transmac or a working osx system.
rizzopro
Hi All... I just creratded a new ISO using Maxxuss's patches including the new test3 that was announced on his website, I couldnt change the permissions simply beacuse I dont know how..But..I was able to install it on my Dell 4700 and when I tired to boot from the HD it rebooted itself. I know Im close..if anybody has a way to change those permissions in laymens terms, I think that might do it. Thanks! I also tried booting into single user mode (-s) but it reboot itself before I could do anything.

VooD
8F1111 working No more kernel panics. Here´s my complete cpu info: But the system seems a bit inestable: - If you click Preferences button in Network panel the application crashes, and if you try to get a report the reporter itself crashes. - Itunes shows error -50 after the license screen. - The sounds stutters all the time (sound-silence-sound-silence....) - Safari still not as fast as in first osx86 version - Graphical glitches still present - Also the system believes I have a dual cpu system and I haven´t, It´s just a 2.6 HT northwood @ 3.2. Previously never reported both HT virtual proccesors as real cpus, they were showed in the activity monitor, but system info reported them as a single cpu. On the other hand, applications loads blazing fast (not 100% sure If the ide driver wasnt working for me in previous versions). Also OpenGL seems to work better (snes9x now works, and quake3 x86 loads til the key request screen). Btw Altivec emulation seems to be working...or at least Altivec Fractal Demo works fine (but slow...0.5 gflops on my p4 3.2, whereas on a g4 450 scores 1.5 gflops) I´ll test a bit more and see if I can find any other problem. viprad
a lot of powerpc software does not work: ms office, stuffit expander etc.
Sudar
a lot of powerpc software does not work: ms office, stuffit expander etc. I say if you have "near-to-dev" system and CPU with or w/o NX the 8f1111 build is the best for you. If you have some problems with system or apps please post also your hardware and the reports of kernel panics and whatever apps say. It's for maxxuss and folks who can fix such issues. Like ppl do in this branch: http://www.win2osx.net/forum/showthread.php?t=1870&page=
xtraa
Just a note for those who have trouble with installing: If you get a SAM Multimedia error looking like the post from GrandMasta (see ^^) it is most likely caused by a bad medium error. In other words, your DVD is f***ed up. So try to burn it again on another DVD. I would suggest to take a DVD-RW. If your hardware supports SSE3, NX and PAE, you can do an UPGRADE. This is nice, because it will keep all your settings and programs, and you do not have to apply any post fixes (e.g. PS2, IOATA). Just click on update and costumize during install. I recomment to do the complete patching and converting in OSX. That means: 1. open the terminal and type sudo -s, then login 2. let's convert the dmg to an iso by typing hdiutil convert /Users/TYPE_YOURNAME_HERE/Desktop/macosx_10.4.3_8f1111_for_dtk_userdvd.dmg -format UDTO -o /Users/Tekno/Desktop/macosx_10.4.3_8f1111_for_dtk_userdvd.iso 3. now we will mount the macosx_10.4.3_8f1111_for_dtk_userdvd.iso.cdr as a writable DVD, so that we can copy over the patches. Do this by typing hdiutil attach -readwrite /Users/TYPE_YOURNAME_HERE/Desktop/macosx_10.4.3_8f1111_for_dtk_userdvd.iso.cdr 4. Apply the patches and instructions, that you will find here in the WIKI and 5. burn it with diskutil located in your OSX Application>Tools folder. Then you should be done. I know this has been written somewhere before, but I think this could be helpful to post twice, just for people who are still searching for it Edited December 2, 2005 by xtraa
