  1. I have been watching this community for a while now, and all I am able to say, is that I am not impressed. People have spent more time complaining about their work being stolen, than actually doing it. Like now for instance, Buildsmart has released these files, and all he has gotten in return is hostility, not even a thankyou. People calling him a plagiarist, but not once have i read that its his work, on the other hand the AMD patches for the semthex kernel, are based on my older work, i haven't seen much credit, if any to me. But that does not bother me, as he helped the community, like Buildsmart is doing. The community is supposed to be all about sharing work, thats i what i wanted it to be like. and this community has strayed far from its intended path. Sure some people may not like what Buildsmart, or others have done. But the fact of the matter is, he has done it. And the longer we keep arguing about it, the less work gets done, and the more broken the community gets, the community is already broken enough because of people like OoOoOoO, the same sort of people that made me leave in the first place. Now sure OoOoOoO may hack leopard, but its nothing i couldn't do, or anybody with ASM knowledge couldn't do. We should stop arguing about who "owns" the material and be happy that somebody makes it public, the sooner we can get over these childish arguments, the quicker we can rebuild the community and get ready for the big cat. Goodbye for now and i hope that all this can just stop -maxxuss
  2. Maxxuss Patches for 10.4.5 released

Yes, mach_kernel is the same. It's 8.4.1 from 10.4.4. The 10.4.5 update installs kernel version 8.5.1, but it does not work on non-Mac hardware (see issues described in my blog). Until the dropped code from prior-8.5.1 is patched back into mach_kernel 8.5.1, it's the best solution to stick to 8.4.1. However, this takes some time.
  3. Maxxuss Patches for 10.4.5 released

First of all, this kld_load_from_memory() failed for module com.apple.driver.ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin \^[[33mFailed to load extension com.apple.driver.ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin. \^[[0mCouldn't alloc class "ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin" is ok. It's a warning we could live with. It's caused due to missing kernel dependencies. However, anything related to SMC only matters for the orginal Intel Mac hardware: TPM chip, backlit keyboard. I removed the instructions for updating from under 10.4.4. It did not work. I will have to figure out, what's the cause here. The updating from 10.4.3 works. I have tried several times. However, make sure you make a backup of your system files, like Extensions.
  4. Maxxuss Patches for 10.4.5 released

dijn, thanks for the info on the typo. The rest with the blue screen etc: Do you have a AMD CPU? If so, the AMD_Enabler batch patcher with the new cpuid_patches.txt for 10.4.5 is required: cd /AMD_Enabler chmod 755 patcher ./patcher cpuid_patches.txt | tee result.txt | less Do not (!) use the cpuid_patches.txt from 10.4.4.
  5. someone's website is missing

Look here, Removed for DMCA Violation I'll post news and links to the web site mirrors. Edit: Sorry again, but now that the site is linking to illegal files once again, we can't link to it. Google is your friend...it'll take you all but 5 seconds to find what you need. - MrBond
  6. 10.4.4 Security Broken

The SSE3 Emulation is finished. Available for download as a separate kernel file. Only requirement left so far: Intel CPU (i.e. no AMD or whatever).

  9. Maxxuss Tuning for 10.4.3 8F1111/8F1111A

Thanks a lot! However, I found another potential problem. I'll prepare a fix and post a link asap.
  10. Maxxuss Tuning for 10.4.3 8F1111/8F1111A

It might be the same problem as others have encountered. Please look at http://win2osx.net/forum/showthread.php?p=19275#post19275 There's a new patched CoreGraphics for testing.
  11. Maxxuss Tuning for 10.4.3 8F1111/8F1111A

First of all, boot with -v option and see where it hangs. To uninstall the CoreGraphics patch, do this: - boot with -s - At the command prompt, type: fsck -y mount -uw / - Then: cd /System/Library/Frameworks/ApplicationServices.framework/Frameworks/CoreGraphics.framework/ Versions/A ls -la - You should see a CoreGraphics and a CoreGraphics.original file. Compare sizes and permissions - they should not differ. To undo the patch: mv CoreGraphics CoreGraphics.patched mv CoreGraphics.original CoreGraphics - Reboot To uninstall the Maxxuss KernelCtrl, do this: - boot with -s - At the command prompt, type: fsck -y mount -uw / - Then: rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/Maxxuss_KernelCtrl.kext rm /Library/LaunchDaemons/maxxuss.sw.kernelctrl.plist rm /usr/sbin/maxxuss_ctrl - Reboot
  12. Maxxuss Tuning for 10.4.3 8F1111/8F1111A

It would not harm. The CoreGraphics patch allocates 16 MB for system usage in advances, so you would have about 10 or 12 MB fewer free RAM. The patch and the tool could speed up your system, if you have you have a low to medium-speed CPU or slow RAM access times (typically found in notebooks).
  13. I have prepared a new package for tuning a 8F1111 or 8F1111A system. The page also contains useful settings for VMWare and some background information. Have a look: EDIT: Removed content violating DMCA Please let me know if it worked for you, too.
  14. New SSE3 Emulation v4

domino, this is OK. The test provokes a bus error, thus the info "should fail and abort". Nothing to worry.
  15. New SSE3 Emulation v4

No, it is only required for the 8F1111 line and above, since SSE3 opcode are heavily used there. 10.4.1 has only rare use of SSE3.
