Hey guys,

I've just created a simple Installer for nVidia GeForce FX 5200 Users and FX 5500 Users that allows users to just download the installer and run it. Its like Install and forget. What it does is pretty much saves your time to download the 250MB combo updater patch + editing plist + installing titan <-- a lot of hassle . Bah , this is the answer then , you just run the installer and voila you have QE/CI working* [and as well as Hardware OpenGL Acceleration]. No tearing or what-so-ever.


Here is the how to

1. Download the FX 5200 Installer or FX 5500 Installer
2. Run the installer , it would install everything for you. Just go with Easy Install [you dont have to customize anything unless you're debugging something or you have been told to do so]
3. Once its done , run Disk Utility to repair permissions
4. Reboot and pray
5. You should have your card kickin'

I have a Geforce FX5600 AGP 256MB lying around, I am interested to try your installer just for the heck of it.
Let me know what to modify... (maybe just Dev ID/Vend ID)

Yep just modify the devID/Ven ID..I am making an installer that just does that for all FX5xxx series [since its quite popular]

Good Job Prasys! Looking for driver for NVidia GeForce FX 5500 (vend id: 10de, device id: 0326).
Now using Thico Alves driver, i can switch between resolution and refresh rate, but seems that card dont have acceleration or OpenGL (dont know what exactly not working, because im a bit end-user) - but i noticed that, because there is no water drop effect when adding new widget on desktop. So hope, that Your upcoming drivers for 5500 will fix this. (Maybe on 5200 drivers that effect is working).
I could try to rename number 5200 to 5500 in all package contents and rename vendor and device id, but does it will work? Or there must be written another things, for proper driver working for 5500?

We only have problem with BUS, because the system recognize as PCI and i find than this reduce much your performance.

Okay guys , I will be uploading the FX5500 after x-mas or boxing day

I will include AGPGart/Part in it for AGP thingy...needt to find a way to include that ! and now you can make your own DVD with it..Just put the pkg and voila , QE/CI/OpenGL out of the box !

grr.. i still can't get CI/QE! I have an AGP fx5200 devid 0x0322 rev 0x00a1

I'm installing on top of JaS Internal 10.4.6 with combo update to 10.4.7 with JaS' beta9 kernel updater and replaced kernel with semthex experimental 6.

I've been told that I need to reinstall with the Myzar Installation...

is that so?

ok, i have asus a8v mobo, verto (vendID 0000) fx5200 ultra (devID 321)which it finds during boot up,  and it freezes at skgeosx: setmulticastmode on any ideas?? does not go into gui mode at all.

i have a list of DevID and VendID numbers listed below. i pulled them all from a nvidia bios editor that i have used to edit the bios of my video card.  hope this helps

im thinking about updating to the new 10.4.8 with semthex and the beta9, but ive heard people saying they have troubles with my graphics card.  i have a nvidia fx go 5200 (64 MB).  will this work???  any suggestions would be appreciated!

Works great for QE/CI but still no dual monitor.  Anyone out there have a Nvidia FX 5200 working with dual monitor?

do we need the semthex JaS SSE2 update for this or will this work on my 10.4.7 JaS install?
