I am at the same point that before after reseting my CMOS, reseting my bios and what ever you said before to do didn't work

I don't understand what happening.

Stupid question. Does exist a specified guide to install on a amd 3800+ x2 with SATA hard disk. Maybe I am doing somethings wrong. :tomato:

maybe can help, I forgot to tell you that I have Xp Pro Spe and VIsta 64 installed on my computer

Anyway, it don't look having a solution for Sata right now. For now I will say fu** Sata hard disk and I install a third slow one PATA but at least it's working.

Again, thank you for you help and try later on sata. Never give up, never surrounded!

Hey

I am having a problem of the disk utility not being able to erase my harddrive. It always gets up to this one point on the bar in the beginning and won't move. Its a ata drive is it matters. I tryed to format it as hfs+ in macdrive for pc but the install wont detect it forcing me to erase it using the disk utility. I am using 10.4.8 amd pv1 and defiant disk util patch dvd. ANy help?

Hello guys, -_-

I try to install on my old Pata hard disk but of course is dead.

I am back allready to try again on my sata. ;)

Ok, one of the sata having one partion with nothing (30Gb) and 2 oder partition at 100Gb.

What ever I try I can only start the install after preesing F8 with this way:

-x cpus=2

But it loop with the sentence:

Still waiting for root device

Still waiting for root device

Still waiting for root device ,etc...

I am progressing, I never been so far but what to do that he can see the device?

thanks in advance

Ok, Know I found a way to start it: :P

-x cpus=2 boot=disk1s1 (my second Sata on is partition 1)

Then I can acces the Hard disk utilities but of course it see no hard disk, only the DvD 10.4.8. :P

I suppose we can do something in the terminal, but I do not konw what to write to make it reconize the SATA.

Please tell me

thanks

You can't. Well, it takes more than my knowledge to install the proper kwet (sp?) file onto the DVD (requires extracting the ISO, modifying it, reimaging it and burning it). The problem is that OSX doesn't properly support SATA drives. The only way I got around this is by installing OSX on the PATA drive and keeping WinXP on my SATA drive. I don't use a bootloader but rather the built-in BIOS disk selector (F8 for me).

I try -v cpus=2 or

-x cpus=2 or

every tips that is gieven for help

Anyone a solution? Please

Im sure it can run faster if you have good cpu, but better, nah, idont like amd because when u want to patch a update, u have to decrypt the files and then find the cpuid checks, its jut a big waste of time as far as im concerned.

Has anyone here seen AMD running better/faster than INtel on OSX86 yet?

Ye, well could just be my friends machine but my AMD system runs MUCH faster and far more stable then my friends intel machine:

Intel Core2Duo E6600 2.4Ghz

Asus P5-E-SLI ?

1GB Kingston DDR2 PC5400

Gainward 7950GT 256MB GDDR3

Look in my sig for my specs :)

I finally gave up with any idea of running any version of OSX on my AMD setup at this time. Certain apps just froze on install (iLife 06) - it reality For the kind of work I do (standard def video editing, audio scoring, web design), in addition to the minimalist design and lower power consumption, I might as well stick with my x64 XP Pro instead of spending countless hours trying to make a kludge work on my generic hardware - Apple beat me on this. I might have second thoughts though after posting this.

If I could have gotten my PCI ide RAID card to work and the built in Marvell gigabit nic card to work right off the bat, I would not be saying this... I REALLY wanted to give my hackintosh a thorough testing before making a decision, but I'm not willing to fork out money for an unknown piece of hardware/software

i've run OSX on my system for almost a week now. been using OSX for internet activities, watching heroes and deathnote animes, and also some japanese drama DVD. so far everything went well. haven't touch my XP for days, unless i need to do some photoshop. my AMD system: no complain so far.

although there's one glitch. you know howw the new itunes has this album cover flip feature like the one that's built into the upcoming iPhone. after i did some flipping, my screen became pixel mess. everything is distorted. i had to do some keyboard guessing to restart the OSX coz i can't really see what the screen is showing. after the restart, everything back to normal. haven't tried the flipping again.

I am using my notebook with Turion too. Without the speedstep, it soonly jumps up to above 80 degree celsius under the Mac OS that I am afraid it would gonna burn up...It's only average 50 degree celsius under Vista...

Which version of MacOS do u use? If it's JaS 10.4.8, try to delete AppleACPIThermal.kext inside the Plugins folder of AppleACPIPlatform.kext. My Athlon 64 Clawhammer 3400+ got about 6°C cooler with this. Make a backup of this kext, delete the AppleACPIThermal.kext (maybe you have to do it on another volume), delete Extensions.kextcache and Extensions.mext and use following terminal commands:

sudo -s

chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions && chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions

diskutil repairpermissions /

kextcache -k /System/Library/Extensions

then reboot. Wish you luck! (BTW: I reverted back to myzar 10.4.7, it's a lot cooler without patching and the 10.4.8 installation has a lot of other problems, too)

Question from me: Has anyone of our AMD family running OSX on an FX-55? If so, which xbench speed results you get with it? My Socket 939 San Diego has a CPU-only speed of about 75-79%, overall with X1600Pro PCI-e about 115%.

GreetinX from the Other Side!

starflyer: you won't have very much luck with your Athlon XP: I has no SSE2 instruction set which is minimum required. Sry 4 u :P

no skt A processor is SSE2/3.

AMD only went SSE2/3 from the athlon64 +

Intel went on the HT based P4's I think.

Btw,

i got ;

4800x2 AMD 939

3gb DDR400

Nforce 4- based DFI Board (onboard sound / lan / SATA working 100%)

6800ultra pci-x in 1680x1050

and its sweeeeeet.

well any " n e w s " on AMD 10.4.9 ?

I see no real update from 10.4.8 to 10.4.9 on my Macbook but maybe on Hack Mac we will...?

I was too shy to use any of the security updates or Java on my AMD cause this might trouble

my OSX install.

I just managed to get PS beta UB running and don't want to f... up my OSX (again).
