Rite since Great Work has been done by all the Devs on the new Legacy Kernel theres still a few Bugs to be taken care of on Phenom and Athlon Systems to get QE/CI in all his beauty running

Since the 1st Kernel has been released were still suffering from GUI Problems -> http://cl.ly/image/1G3V3I3s3k0Q

This Thread is to discuss and keep the Nvidia one clean from us buggin in

Post your Test and Workarounds ,your Cards and Thoughts on how to solve it

In my case a 5770 Batmobile will add some Picture later on

HD5870 here, using Andy's latest amd_kernels the glitches disappear in about 30 minutes. However, the system is not nice to use as long as the glitches appear there.
Also, the one when dock is shown from the "hide-mode" doesn't disappear. The dock just flashes for about a second and then acts as normal. :)

With my 6570 they go away with time. Some have found that deflecting the QE/CI kexts for your card may help.

So, i am trying the whole afternoon to get a step further, and maybe i did.

Until now i booted my system with GraphicsEnabler=No. My graphics card (hd5670) was detected as Radeon 5000 series.

When i tried to boot with GraphicsEnabler=Yes i got a panic in ATI5000Controller.kext. But when i ad AtiConfig=Hoolock, the system boots up and my card is detected as 5600 series. I tried Langur so far but it ended in a black screen. But i still have glitches and artifacts.

wastez, i think you tried different framebuffers. What was your experience?

Now i'm gonna try some different framebuffers and maybe some other smios.plist. This has to work somehow :D .

other framebuffers will give you most likely no ouput on your videoport ....
and other mac model neither since they not affect ATI Cards as much they do to nvidias

I think there is nothing we can do. I gues the kexts are using a instruction set which is not supported by the Kernel or something else.
So if no Developer help we will not get it working.

@spakk:

the problem is not the graphics card itself. in the video the dude is installing mountain lion on an intel cpu. so as andy says, its a problem with the delaytime the ssse3-emulator introduces. on intel and bulldozer etc. cpu's you have native ssse3 ;).

since some real mac users flashed there ATI Cards with lower clock settings to get rid of glitches

why dont we drop a rom with lower settings and try booting with that

could that work ? to reach the same effect ?
