I've created an USB following one of the guides of this forum. The problem is that when the load finishes, instead of the install screen, I get a black screen. I have a nVidia 240 GT with 1GB of memory, if that helps.

I have the same problem with a GTX 260. Hopefully I can sort it out...

type this command to boot with:
PCIRootUID=0
worked for me

EDIT2: I've solved the problem!! I've extracted my DSDT from Windows and I applied a patch for the Nvidia 240GT that I found on tonymac

cool, good news. can you share links to the patch or what software you used on windows for DSDT?

I extracted my DSDT and then I searched for a patch for the Nvidia 240. I applied the patch, and it worked. But my Windows 8 install has messed up ( it doesn't boot now) and I can't boot into Mountain Lion ( I get a kernel panic about an extension I have to remove)

Can you explain how you "patched" it? The link to the patch is just a portion of a DSDT file isn't it, not actually a patch you can run in the DSDT editor and patcher?
