1. Hello all,I have successfully gotten my Hackintosh working 99 percent. The remaining issue that I am running into is that my system will randomly kernel panic upon a user issued shutdown or reboot WHEN I have either a usb sound card or usb headset plugged into any of my USB ports (both 2.0 and 3.0). If I remove the headset, it will power down with no issues. Does anyone have any suggestions? My system is as follows:MacOS 10.14 MojaveGigabyte H370 HD38400 i5 Coffee LakeRadeon RX 580 sound cardI have the internal audio disabled. I have also attached my config.plist file.I have the following Kexts installed:FakePCIID_XHCIMux.kextUSBInjectAll.kextFakeSMC.kextWhateverGreen.kextIntelMausiEthernet.kextXHCI-300-series-injector.kextLilu.kextThank you. config.plist

4. Hi guys, this thread is to show you a new and open source app, created by me, that I called TINU: The name means: TINU Is Not #####, the U refers to a popular software that is used to create macOS hackintosh installers (that for good reasons is banned on this forum), but the aim of the name is to explain that this app is a totally different thing from that software and works in a totally different way. This app basically is a graphical interface for the createinstallmedia executable that is inside the macOS and Mac OS X installer apps, it is capable to create a bootable installer completely vanilla like what you do using the command line method, and also this method is recommended by apple itself. In addition to this, this app provvides to you simplicity and flexybility, and lets you to avoid most of the steps needed with every other app. TINU allows you to create easily a bootable macOS installer without messing around with command line stuff and without using disk utility, all you need to do is use the app and then install clover on the usb drive once TINU has finished or leave it as is if you want to use it on a real Mac. Features: - Simple-to-use UI that allows you to easily start the bootable macOS installer creation process. - It can work with every macOS installer app that has the createinstallmedia executable inside its resources folder (including also beta and newly released installers). - You can use any erasable volume that is at least 7 GB of size (if the volume's drive is not in GUID format, TINU will re-format it accordingly). - Can work with the Mac OS recovery system, so you can create a bootable macOS installer from the macOS installer itself or from the macOS recovery partition, and you can use TINU to install macOS, too. - 100% clean: The bootable macOS installers created with this tool are vanilla, just as if you created them using the command line "createinstallmedia" method in Terminal. - Open Source: You can verify what this program does on your computer and you can create your own version by downloading and playing with the source code. - Does not require any special preparations. Just open the program, make sure you have a USB drive plugged in and have a macOS installer app on your disk. - No need to use Disk Utility. TINU can format your drive or partition for you. - Integrated EFI partition mounter tool. - Uses recent, modern, APIs and SDKs and the Swift 3 language. - Transparent graphics style available (type alt-S or choose from the menu bar: View -> Use transparent style). - Works using the latest versions of macOS and will also support newer Mac installers out of the box without requiring an update. - Offers advanced features to customize your bootable macOS installer. Features that are planned for future versions: - Install and configure [Clover](https://sourceforge.net/projects/cloverefiboot/). - Install kexts into Clover's kexts folder. - Clover drivers customization - Use custom DSDT in Clover - Integrated pre-made Clover config templates database from a remote and open repository. - Support for other languages, at least Italian. # Requirements: - A computer that runs Mac OS X Yosemite or a more recent version (Mac OS X El Capitan is required to use TINU in a macOS recovery or installer). - A drive or a free partition (on a drive which already supports GUID) of least 7 GB that you want to turn into a macOS/Mac OS X installer. - A copy of a macOS/Mac OS X installer app (Maveriks or newer versions are supported) in the /Applications folder or in the root of any storage drive on your machine (excepted the drive or volume you want to turn into your macOS install media). 6. Hi guys, My current build is working flawlessly under High Sierra except for one thing : my Roccat Kone EMP mouse won't work after waking up from sleep. I have to disconnect/reconnect it to get it to work again. Other mice (less sophisticated) do work upon wake. However , the Roccat mouse doesn't have any issue under Windows 10 or on an iMac running SL 10.6.3 . I wish I could try under Sierra ... 7.
8. I'm currently working on a new version of INSTAHackintosh. Purpose: This will enable user to make fully customisable Recovery, Installer and Installed. This is taking a completely different approach, no createmedia/startosinstall blah blah blah. Mojave installed to MBR/HFS no patch needed. You will be able to add kexts to the Installer as well as some Apps. You can do the same with the Recovery and Installed. Will be able to make a USB/ISO or Install straight to HD. Usage: Example: To HD from Mojave Install High Sierra 10.13.6 to HD Install SecUpd2018-003HighSierra.pkg to HD Install NVIDIA Web Driver 387. to HD Install Applications to HD Install Kexts to HD Reboot to HD, Fully Updated with working video Will post a beta version ( HD only ) when it is done EDIT: would anybody happen to have an old version of my INSTAHackintosh? I've lost all my copies. No sense re-inventing the wheel.
9. Overview On OS X/Mac OS X, some people may suffer from the issue that the external disk was not ejected properly after sleep. This problem dates back to the period of the coming of Mavericks, even on a real Mac! Overview of the tools/solutions AFAIK, there's two solutions to fix this problem till now: Install Jettison from Mac App Store. Use sleepwatcher to unmount the external devices before system go to sleep. But for me, install Jettison is not free of charge, and this application will place icon on the right corner of the statue bar once get installed, which is not a good solution from my point of view. The latter one is open source and free of charge, which means I can know clearly what this application/daemon has done and add as many functions I want to it. With the help of sleepwatcher, there's various script to unmount/mount disk upon sleep, but none of it is so easy to read and some require sleep time delay settings, that's really strange! That's the reason why I started to create my "own" version of script to fix this issue. I optimized the whole progress as well as the installation progress. No more wake/sleep delay time settings! No more complicated command line, no more wake script, just one sleep script for unmount the external devices, once you resume from sleep, all the external devices will mount by system spontaneously. After following this guide step-by-step, no more "Disk not ejected properly" error will occur upon sleep. Feel free to change whatever you want if you do not satisfy with my script: https://github.com/syscl/Fix-usb-sleep How to use? Download the latest fixUSB.sh by entering the following command in a terminal window: git clone https://github.com/syscl/Fix-usb-sleep Note: If it was the first you execute command "git", please install it by the tips from OS X online(Click "Install"), and then run the above command line again. This will download the fixUSB.sh to your current folder (./) and the next step is to change the permissions of the file(add +x) so that it can be run: chmod +x ~/Fix-usb-sleep/fixUSB.sh Run the fixUSB.sh in a terminal window by: cd ./Fix-usb-sleep ./fixusb.sh If all this procedures have done correctly, you will see the following message in the terminal window Hope you all enjoy this script and all feedbacks are welcome! Post issue on https://github.com/syscl/Fix-usb-sleep Credit: Bernhard Baehr (bernhard.baehr@gmx.de): without his great sleepwatcher, this project/script will not be created.
10. Hello everyone! I am fairly new to the world of Hackintosh. I recently moved my previous build into a smaller form factor. However, I am running into a series of problems with the USB ports on the new case and the new motherboard. Part List: - i7-7700k - Gigabyte Z270N Gaming 5 - 16GB Trident Z RGB 3200 MHz - Sapphire RX 470 - NZXT Kraken x62 - NZXT H200 for the case Everything in the Hackintosh works just like it did before, nothing changed in the hardware department other than the motherboard (previously a gigabyte Z20X Ultra) and the case. This motherboard does not have any USB 2.0 ports in the back, there is only one header on the board, currently taken by the Kraken x62. The rest of the ports are all either USB 3.1 Gen1 or USB 3.1 Gen2, and the front of the case has 3.1 Gen1 ports as well. This is my current problem: When I plug something into either the type A or type C Gen2 ports, it works fine as a normal USB 3.x device with normal speeds, but when I plug something into any other USB port, it only works at lower 2.0 speeds. This is a big problem for me, since I have a few external devices that need the 3.0+ speeds and I don't know what to do. I tried to follow many different guides on how to patch USB ports, remove the limits, etc... But nothing seems to work. Please someone help me!
11. Bluetooth + AirDrop + Apple Watch "Auto Unlock" + Continuity / Handoff BCM20702 / TP-Link T9E (AC1900) I have a little update on getting BCM20702 running in Mojave: Without kext files, nothing worked "OOB" with my USB dongle. So I got "BrcmFirmwareStore" and "BrcmPatchRAM2" from RehabMan. I tried putting the kext files in /L/E , didn't work so I tried /S/L/E. * While that didn't work at first, I then tried to refresh the kext cache; the files didn't show up in kextstat. I used this command: sudo kextcache -invalidate / which told me 2 error messages: BrcmFirmwareStore and BrcmPatchRAM2 had the wrong permissions. This is fixed like so: sudo chown -R 0:0 /System/Library/Extensions/BrcmPatchRAM2.kext/ sudo chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/BrcmPatchRAM2.kext/ sudo chown -R 0:0 /System/Library/Extensions/BrcmFirmwareRepo.kext/ sudo chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/BrcmFirmwareRepo.kext/ Reboot and be happy! Both the actual Bluetooth entry in System Preferences, that was missing before as well as an entry in System Report > Bluetooth finally appeared! I have a TP-Link Archer T9E WiFi card and now in conjunction, AirDrop does work like a charm! Cheers, Dave * EDIT: RehabMan replied to me on GitHub and it's not recommended to use /S/L/E and you should let that folder remain reserved for Apple original kext files. So I tried putting the files (with the correct permissions) back into /Library/Extensions and Bluetooth and AirDrop both still work fine! So I would recommend to put the files either into EFI/EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other or - like me - into /Library/Extensions and after (or before) copying the two kext files, set the permissions like shown above for both files with chown and chmod. EDIT2: I totally forgot to mention that even unlock via Apple Watch works! I assumed it would not work, until the "iMac" itself saw my Watch and kindly asked if I wanted to activate it I immediately turned the feature on and it's working like a charm! What also perfectly works is Handoff. It's a feature that I never found really useful, especially between iOS and Mac, however when I have a Safari window open on my iPhone, the Hackintosh shows me the handoff Safari icon in the App switcher as well as in the dock (only tested Safari for now) and it behaves just like on my MacBook Pro! Universal Clipboard is also working as well as SMS / MMS. I couldn't test "Cellular Calls" and the "Continuity Camera" as I don't have a second phone and it's quite late here right now for calling someone on the telephone and I don't have any iOS 12 devices either. The "Instant Hotspot" did not work, but I think that anybody going the TP-Link T9E + BCM20702 way is building a PC that is permanently attached to WLAN or even LAN (Ethernet), so that's not an issue. I think laptop Hackintoshers should just use a MacBook WiFi card as they probably already have the connector etc. etc. (no adapter or Motherboard-dependent solutions needed).
12. I recently installed High Sierra on my Ryzen system, just to find out how crappy the USB situation really is on AMD systems. The only choice is basically most of your ports flat out not working or GenericUSBXHCI crashing every time you pull out a thumbdrive. So after some trial and error here are my findings. The USB ports controlled by the XHCI controller on the SoC worked fine, but the ones attached to the chipset XHCI controller didn't. That's when I looked at the log and saw these lines: PTXH@00000000: AppleUSBXHCIPCI::createPorts: port 1 unsupported protocol USB 03.10 PTXH@00000000: AppleUSBXHCIPCI::createPorts: failed to allocate port 1 It turns out that for some reason the AppleXHCIPCI driver doesn't support the first two ports on the B350 chipset (made by ASMedia) USB controller. And after the driver fails to allocate port 1 it just stops and doesn't even look at the rest of the ports. So I first tried commenting out the first two ports from the DSDT and that worked and made all the other ports show app in the IOService tree. Than I quickly tested all the USB ports and it turns out that the 2 problematic ports aren't even wired to anything. But instead of editing the DSDT I wanted a cleaner solution, because I don't want to re-edit my DSDT every time I update the BIOS or change some BIOS settings. So here is my small SSDT that disables the stock PTXH device and adds a new device XHCI, that has all the ports needed for my board (ASUS PRIME B350-PLUS). 13.

Archive.zip

I'm stuck here and I cannot boot to USB. Everything is OK. Just about my Clover configuration! My model profile: CPU : Intel Core i3 6100U Skylake-U/Y RAM: 4.00GB Single-Channel DDR3 @ 532MHz (7-8-8-28) Motherboard: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. TP501UA (U3E1) Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 520 (ASUStek Computer Inc) Monitor: Generic PnP Monitor (1920x1080@60Hz) Storage HDD: 465GB Seagate ST500LT012-1DG142 (SATA) Audio: Realtek Network: Qualcomm Atheros AR946x Wireless Network Adapter
18. Hi everyone, I am new, I hope I am posting in the correct forum. My specs: Processor: Core i5 6500 Skylake 3.2ghz Mobo: Gigabyte h170-d3h M2SSD: WD Black 256gb PCIe (Mac OSx) SSD: Samsung 860 Evo (WIndows 10) HDD: WD Blue 1TB GPU: Radeon RX 480 Monitor: BenQ RL2460 24" I was able to install High Sierra on a new m2 drive, that I added to the above configuration with windows 10 already installed. I had a few issues during install, including the monitor turning off at boot screen. Unfortunately, this persists even now. It turns off at about 60% of the progress bar, and to turn it on again I have to unplug/plug back my hdmi. Additionally, while all of the usb ports worked during install and while running it out of the clover I had on the usb stick, only the rear ones appear to work now. The audio doesn't work either, though I added the correct patch according to my mobo Lastly, my other drives are not recognized in the bios anymore. They run fine from boot override but they don't show up in the boot priority (while multiple entries of mac OS do, and they seem to increase in number at every reboot) Thanks in advance for the help

Wifi usb high sierra

20. System Configuration: Processor: AMD FX 8320 MB: M5A97 R2.0 GPU: RX 470 4GB I get the system to boot into osx sucessfully with "kernel=kernel.amd npci=0x3000 USBBusFix=Yes -f." Keyboard and Mouse refuse to funtion. I have put the usb fixes in for sierra and the kernel to make it function. Ive put IOMMU to yes and to 64bit, disabled uefi due to boot issues.
21. After weeks of digging, I've found a partial solution for the USB problem of my hack. No guide I've found worked so far, injectors or fake kexts made the problem even bigger in every case. So I concentrated on getting the DSDT as correct as possible. My personal DSDT does only apply to a few people out there I know, but may be used as a helpful reference. For example I renamed XHC to XHC1 (so that OS X can find it) removed _PWR arguments from EHCI, XHC1 and HDEF to make sleep working (resulted in a new wake-problem ). What is working with the attached DSDT and what not : Ports detected: 2 of 2 USB 3 on the front, 2 of 4 USB rear ports, 2 of 2 USB 2 rear ports USB 2 devices not recognized when plugged into USB 3 ports Sleep is working, however, wake up works only when power button is pressed. I'm using iMac14,2 SMBIOS for now. Still looking for alternatives that fit my pc better. Does anybody has any advice or a possible DSDT fix regarding the wake / sleep problem? Thanks in advance for all the effort !!! DSDT.aml.zip
EFI.zip
23. Hello. I'm a long-time Mac user. I have some minor experience with upgrading my Macs (PCI cards, new drives, RAM), but none in building a new computer, nor any meaningful experience with CLI or coding more than HTML and CSS. I wanted to build my own Mac/Hack because I wanted something more expandable and customizable than the current options from Apple, and because I wanted to learn a little more about the technical side of things. After watching a number of videos and reading a great deal on another site (at the only time, the only one I knew of dealing with Hackintoshes), I decided this seemed within my capabilities. I built a computer with the components recommended on that site's "budget ATX" listing: Intel 3.7ghz core i3-6100 processor gigabyte LGA 1151 Z170 HD3 motherboard Samsung 850 evo 250gb ssd seagate barracuda 1tb hhd corsair cs 550 watt psu I chose to forgo a graphics card for now, and used a Phanteks Eclipse P400 case (for whatever difference that makes). I assembled the computer and exactly followed the installation instructions on the other site. After some minor fiddling with config files, I got the Mac working fine. Until I tried to mount my external HDD to migrate data from my old Mac. The new computer failed to mount it or even see it. Same with my other external HDDs I tried (all Seagate or Western Digital drives, HFS+ formatted). When I asked on this other site, I was pointed to another page where I needed to "write a custom SSDT," and the instructions left my head swimming. That looks very much beyond my expertise (I'll post the link if I get permission, but I understand that the other site is not to be discussed or linked to on this site). I'm feeling frustrated, because if I had been lead to believe that such a level of technical work was necessary, I would not have made this attempt. A few minor config adjustments, I was okay with, but this appears to be far more than that. Someone today told me about InsanelyMac, so I thought I'd check it out. Is there any easier solutions for this at this point? Barring that, If I start the installation process from scratch with instructions from InsanelyMac, am I likely to avoid the problem? Thanks for any advice. If I can't get this worked out soon, I'm going to have to resort to letting my friend help me install Linux, and I would prefer not to go there
24. Has anyone been able to get USB 3.0 working on this mobo? I saw the RehabMan github but it's way over my head.
