BuXb
pretty amazing release, looking at all the hacks it includes. And the iATKOS_S3.zip only weighs 3.7 GB, how did they do that ..

Beerkex'd
Just a heads-up for everyone: According to Pere, iATKOS S3 does not support AMD CPUs. You have been warned.
Snerler
I like "distos" as everything is nicely collected. Are there any plans for AMD in the future?

RMonte305
I downloaded the torrent and did the md5check and it didn't match the md5check text file. I used powerISO to burn it with slowest possible burn speed. I tried installing this and i open installer log because it the installing progress bar wouldn't budge. The installer log said that packages not found so something is apparently wrong with this download. I have iAtkos V7 10.5.8 and never encountered this problem
mitch_de
The MD5 should "fit" with the MD5 of unzipped .ISO, not the MD5 of the .ZIP. My .ISO was OK. But sure, wrong MD5 .ISO is an problem / some "bad" bytes on the image = useless.

iMikro
Nice! lots of common kext support and the install dvd booted up on my nforce + AMD machine. Thanks for such an awesome release. How did you manage to boot on AMD? DVD framework doesn't support AMD, as Pere said from upchuck. I need to know, because I am on AMD. I am hoping for AMD compatible version (if it isn't already ). oSxFr33k
Uphuck & Pere & their friends has published the next version of highly anticipated iATKOS v7 For more information & download, dig here: http://uphuck.ggrn.de/forum/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=12269 Is there a generic DSDT in this install? Ins't the DSDT the biggest issue to have a nearly 100% perfect DSDT? For my Dell XPS M1530 I have a near 100% DSDT. C-State (_CST) and LPC need more work. The Desktop I have is the Giigabyte E45-UD3P and P35 chipsets. There is a thread on this for many of their motherboards. They have provided a BIOS that gives you and EFI type upgrade. I would think that the install and post install would be even more flawless on a system that has the EFI Bios hack? Same with the XPS M1530 Dell Laptop. I have a near 100% perfect DSDT so I can just install retail. I actually have and only needed the PS2 voodoo kexts for the laptop as well as the voodooHDA for sound, fakesmc and smbios.plst. Also the VoodooBattery and VoodooSMHC for the memory card slots. Thats it 100% vanilla except those kexts in /extra. Anyhow any progress on a universal EFI for PC and Laptops or nothing still in the near future? I have a MAcPro but will nto buy a MacBook Pro until they decide to make the hard drive easy to replace like on PC Laptops and to have eSATA on them. Until then I won't even look at a MacBook Pro!! Anubis111
Yesterday was published an importand update (to ver.2) for this editon of Iatkos S3: You can now patch the existing iATKOS_S3.iso [ppf] More info you'll find here. greetz _________ Update 10.06.2010 - tried to install many times. First upgrade, than clean installs - still without success - after instalation it hangs and (wtf???) plays music - cover of Bee Gees "Staying Alive"... Update 2. Was able to boot using switch: -v -x Update 3. After update to 10.6.4 can boot in normal mode, with sound. Boots in 32bit mode. So finally - it works but instalation needs time and peace... Sorry, Snow Leopard is much harder to hack or get patched, that's why Snow Leo version of iATKOS release was so delayed even for legacy Intel processors. You should try another way (possibly a newer SL compatible voodoo kernel for AMD) to get Snow Leo work.
