Hi, I'm really just checking to see if my disk speeds seem right. I've been getting some discrepancies. For example, here are my xbench specs:

920 @ 4011 MHz
p6x58d premium
12gb corsair
gtx 260 OC
crucial 64gb ssd

the file titled xBench.txt is my overall xbench, using my system ssd.

the file titled xBenchData, is the disk test for my data disks which is an apple software raid 0 of two samsung spinpoint 1tb drives.

the file titled xBenchRAID, is my 4x500gb eSata external raid 5.

WTF is up with my apple software raid? the numbers are just unrealistic, faster than my ssd?

is my ssd even accurate, seems high as well?

what other programs can I use to measure my disk speed without using terminal?

thanks a lot for any help.

for hdd bench, use AJA System Test! use a long benchmark with 16gb file! ;)

Hello everyone, new here and since 2 days a happy owner of a pcmac :)

I'm not sure if my machine is running on full speed so please give me some insights on if my bench is accurate for my system.

If i look at the other bench here i seem to be rather slow.

Here are my specs:

P5Q pro board
4GB ram
E8400 cpu 3Ghz
8450HD vga

Xbench gives me  151,51 for a total result

Mine runs reasonably well although looking at my Xbench score it seems a little poor considering my system specs, I think it could be better.

Maybe it is because my CPU isn't using speed step - I am running without a DSDT.

XBench is pretty useless for Cpu speed testing. According to it both my Q9550 @ 4.1 GHz and E7400 @ 4 GHz are faster than i7 @ 4.2 GHz:) DDR3 of course just kills DDR2 in memory speed.

The tweaking part was getting the cpu speed from 160 to where it is now.  i7's and the x58a-ud3r have problems and took a bit of tweaking to get it at the "normal" speed :) needless to say, the new system is considerably faster than the old one ;)

Right, I'm interested on seeing other peoples Macintel boxes specs and Xbench scores.

This could also help everyone so they get a rough idea of how well their system will handle OS X86 (If at all).

You can download Xbench 1.2 here. This is a universal binary so it'll work on both real macs and macintels.

Make sure you save the results as a text file (Plain Text) and attach them to your post.

I'll start!

Spec:

Intel P4 1.8ghz SSE2
Intel 845 chipset
768mb SDR ram
Nvidia Vanta 16mb AGP VESA 3.0
20gb Ibm ATA100 hdd
