Hi everybody!

 

was wondering if someone can give me an explanation for this one..

here are my machine's specs:

Q6600 CPU oc'd to 3,24 Ghz

4GB RAM

Gigabyte HD 2600 Pro 512MB GPU

WD 150GB Raptor HD1

WD 500GBAAKS HD2

P5W DH DLX MOBO

 

OS is Kalyway 10.5.2 install

 

I run 2 identical clones of OSX:

one primary on the 150 Raptor disk (1 partition)

and one backup on my 500 GB normal WD HD (multi partitioned drive with 2 linux ext3 partitions and 2 more mac hfs+ partitions), OSX is installed on the first partition of this drive.

 

Here's what i don't understand, when running Xbench, my results are quite different .

I was expecting my Raptor drive to get the best result but this wasn't the case, though the Raptor gets the best read write results, the difference seems to be in the video tests, but since the install is as a clone, I really don't know how to explain this??

 

I am really looking forward to get an explanation for this, like now it seems!!

Thats with a vanilla kernel running 10.5.7. I think I've seen a G4 iBook that posted a similar score. My Mac Mini core solo 1.5 got a 76, so it goes to show that the Atom is only as fast as its in-order-execution core allows it to be, but its totally worth the 5-6 hour battery life.
